I was taught to use the wacky rig well over 20 years ago by a guide on lake Fork when Fork had hydrilla in it. Those fish ate that rig up. Simple to fish and it comes out of grass easily. Definitely a fun rig to fish with.
Good info young man. 👍 good to see you are doing something productive and doing what you enjoy at a young age. I'm 50 and wish I had done the same. Keep at it. Don't let any negative comments or people discourage you. If they are negative it's because they are jelous.
Gamatsu Octopus 1/0 hooks are the best hooks I have ever found for wacky rigging. I have bank fished my whole life. A square bill and a Wacky senko will catch fish guaranteed. I use them both year round, I don't really use much else.
Definitely need a leader. Last year I broke off my leader line from a turtle. Tied my hook directly to braid afterwards, caught 4 or 5 bass around 2 pounds... my line was shredded after that. It works, but gotta keep a closer eye on your line
You are using the name "Senko" when you should be using the term "stickbait." "Senko" is the name of a bait made by the Gary Yamamoto brand. Calling any other brand bait a Senko is like calling 7up Coke.

This vid has given me more confidence in the wacky rig! Most definitely going to throw it in a few ponds and creeks and see what happens. Thanks JDF!
Rain tomorrow. Those chemtrails!
Thanks again JD 👍🏻

Does that 7’0” Ark Invoker Tour medium-heavy spinning rod have much tip flex, or is it fairly stiff? Good tips in this video.
Wow I really enjoyed this video so helpful for me thank you!!!!🎉
Good stuff Jonathan.
Thanks JD, I will try to settle down, but there is a fish out there on that worm....

do you use a liter or just braid?
I have beyond braid 15 pound test will it work on my spinning rod or will I need to tie some sort of liter line?
I use a leader for it, unless im fishing around crazy thick grass
So it’s straight braid vs using a fluoro leader?
braid to a leader, the only time ill run straight braid is occasionally in florida with this

God bless you Jonathan
So straight braid High Vis no leader?
No I add a leader on it, usually 8-12lb
How do you know 75% use it wrong?
Just a general assessment of all the people I talk to and fish with. It’s probably honestly way higher lol
You never ask me how I fish it
Maybe its 76%.?

Brother you knew what I meant
Categorically there are stick baits but only 1 is a Senko. Please educate yourself.
