    I began using Zoom Trick worms last year and have caught so many fish with them. Here in SoCal many anglers are throwing stick baits and Roboworms.

      I just started using trick worms about 3 weeks now. They have been in my tackle box for about 4 years unopened. I just discovered a new world of fishing. 😁

    I've been using this for the past 7-8 years, it is definitely one of my favorite way to fish for bass anytime from spring to late fall in southern Louisiana, I use 40-50 pound braid and the fish love it I ususally use a 3/0-4/0 hook, glad someone finally posted a video on this, my most successful colors are white and pink, a very good technique👍

      Know I’m real late but on the off chance you see this, do you use a leader as well or just straight braid?

    • @jacquelynswartz4671
      @jacquelynswartz4671 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tyler-qf9vz he says he uses straight mono he doesn’t use braid too a leader because he’s in ultra clear water and scared the fish will see his line

      Your a talented teacher and keep up the great work💪🏼
      I will say, just my opinion on one thing, I would never use 6lb line on a spinning reel when I know there at big bass in the area…..Again, my opinion, you would be asking for trouble and miss some big bass.
      Smaller bass, then no problem. I would even be using a spinning reel. but if so for this application then nothing less than 10lb.
      Again, thanks for your help

    Excellent tips and true wisdom again!☝️.I know I’m just another random person with a keyboard here, but you sir have been my mentor. I became an angler just 2 yrs ago. I’ve watched actual days of accumulated videos since, you are by a longshot to me the smartest fisherman I’ve come across. You’re little tips on rigging, line and reel choice etc have rapidly made me better. Yourself and Matt Allen are the smartest anglers in the country. Been using a swivel with floating worms like you for decades. Also helps for the sink rate. Helped to use swivel to help line twist. I also would use a mustad hook with a 1/16 oz weight to swim the bait.

      I tried White Grubs about 4 years ago. I was in Cabela’s just looking around and came across White Grubs. This kid about 14 said, Hey Mister do you like fishing White Grubs? I said I never tried it. He said well you should. “White Pissed Bass Off, They Always Bite On White.
      That’s All Me & My Grandpa Fish With.” Well, I tried it and the kid was right. I don’t know if the Bass are pissed off but they sure bite on white. 4 years later I have more white lures in my tackle boxes than I did 4 years ago. Thanks Kid😁😁😁
      I bet my next color Surprize will be Bubblegum.🤪

    Very interesting. I never had much luck with floating worms but I will surely try this method. One question though, as long as you are going to tie on a bit of leader to a swivel, why not use braided line and then tie on fluorocarbon or monafilament with the swivel. Seems like it would greatly increase hook-ups and not make any difference as far as performance of your line except to make it much stronger.

    • @bassresource
      @bassresource  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Braid isn't a good choice for 2 reasons: 1. It doesn't stretch, and you're using a medium powered rod with a light hook. So you're putting the strain on the rod and hook - the hook will likely bend as it would end up as the weakest link. You need to match your rod, line, and hook so they work in concert, not against each other. 2. Braid in clear water looks like a rope, and spooks the fish.

    Have not seen a rigging like this. With copolymer leader you still think braid affects bites? Seems to me like braid does not twist as much with or without swivel.

    • @bassresource
      @bassresource  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another great video Glenn. How important is the color? With really clear water I would normally fish Green Pumpkin but I am guessing you're in clear water and still catching them with the white worm. Thanks for another technique to learn.

    • @lexm0
      @lexm0 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tim Ward color coordinate to your forage around your area. White, watermelon red, green pumpkin, and black & blue are honestly all you need across the country

    • @bassresource
      @bassresource  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Color isn't all that important. It's the action that's key. But I like white or pink, even in ultra-clear water. They both seem to work equally as well.

    • @bassresource
      @bassresource  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Color isn't all that important. It's the action that's key. But I like white or pink. They both seem to work equally as well. You don't have to use a flat-sided worm, but it does provide more random action in my experience.

    This will be a great to use in tandem with my method. I also use a swivel just the exact set up you have but I start the hook in the nose and thread it down to the eye of the hook but I only bring the barb slightly out and that leaves a kink in the worm. I throw it out and do a slow steady retrieve which makes the worm twirl as would a touchdown worm. Great when semi to aggressive. These two methods used together would be a hard combo to beat.
