I did the same with the Beam+two Symfonisk bookshelf rear surrounds. I added the Gen 3 Sub about a year later and WTF! It was like an entirely new system with the sub. I'll say stick with the rear surrounds if you just watch cable TV or shows with mostly dialogue (crime show, game shows, news, reality TV, etc...). You need the sub if you like action movies, special effect movies, or Sci-fi.
I paired this sub with my stereo Sonos fives. I wasn’t sure what to expect and wasn’t sure if it would be overkill, as some people have been commenting. It’s true that the fives already have an impressive bass. However, with the added sub, I really notice an omnidirectional sound to before, which I really love. Personally, I’m really happy with this combination.
I have the two fives as well! I just bought the arc to pair with them using them as rears. But I don’t feel it uses the fives as much as I would like. I am watching this video to decide if I should go back and switch the arc for the sub paid with my fives and now I will!! Thank you.

EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THEM AND THEIR SERVICES.
The software will not allow you to connect the Move directly to the sub. You can add the Move into an existing Sonos system like Beam+two One SLs+Gen 3 Sub Home Theater with the Move added as in a whole house audio with the Move in the same room.

I’ll be getting this on Black Friday
Because of this video I got bought of them arc and sub . 👍👍👍
Excellent reviewer
Would love to add this to my pair of One SL’s
Is it worthwhile adding the Sub to a Playbase?
Of course
@@itguru2037So what's the point of getting a Playbase if it still needs the Sub?
@@anonanon7278 you don’t. You get the Arc. And you still would appreciate the added low end with the sub. It’s all up to the use case.
Name of song used for testing??
Amazing review
I own the arc and sub gen 3 and highly recommend watching the Harry Potter movies lol any movie it sounds great tho!
Can the beam be uses as a regular speaker if you just want to hear music on all speakers in the house.. Does the beam count as a speaker or does it only work with the tv?
JUST BUY SUB FROM SHS IT MAKES HUGE DIFFERENCE , I WOULD SAY THAT BEAM ALONE WITHOUT REAR ONE SLS IS A BIT OVERKILL (MUSIC PLAYBACK WISE) AS THE BEAM ISN'T POWERFULL ENOUGH AND IF YOU OVERDUE THE SUB VOLUME IT WILL DROWN THE BEAM, NEXT DAY DELIVERY AND EXTRA WARRANTY FOR FREE IS AMAZING, AND YOU BUY IT FROM THE GUYS WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT THE SONOS SYSTEM. EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THEM AND THEIR SERVICES.
What does he mean when he says “won’t work with move”
The software will not allow you to connect the Move directly to the sub. You can add the Move into an existing Sonos system like Beam+two One SLs+Gen 3 Sub Home Theater with the Move added as in a whole house audio with the Move in the same room.
Just bought a Sonos Sub (Gen3) and after initial use noticed the side has slightly deformed, at the top. It as if the side is starting to pop out of the housing. Anyone else noticed similar on their Sub?
Hi Paul, that does sound strange and might need to be looked at. If you have bought the Sub from ourselves, do get in touch with us directly by sending some photos and we'll be happy to look into this for you. Thanks for watching!
Is this compatible with a playbar?
Hi Shaf, yes you can pair the Sonos Sub Gen 3 with the Playbar providing you have this running on the S2 app. Hope this helps.
The sonos sub can be hooked up to a receiver?🤔
No. It’s hooked up to WiFi.
Beam , 2 play 3s, and sub ......... awesome
So with no ripples of water I won’t feel a punch in my chest with a deep bass? What will I feel then?
Thanks for the great video! What surrounds would you recommend for a room that is 40m2 with vaulted ceilings that are 4 meters at the highest point?
I have exactly the same question, nut with 62m2.
I’ve had mine 4 years but only played it 5 or 6 times. No there is no power light. Fuse and leads have been checked out, all OK
Just bought one from you guys
Awesome, thanks for the support it's great to have you as part of the SHS community.
BEST Channel EVER!!
I have a Gen 2 subwoofer and won’t turn on after year and half of buying. Yes you read right YEAR AND HALF. Call to Sonos support and told me that they can’t do anything my sub was “dead” they offer me replacing it for a Gen 3 for half the price when I send mine back. I love the sound quality of Sonos but I’m afraid buying a Gen 3 don’t last any longer than the other one. My question is if in the Gen 3 they fixed the issue of “dead’s” Subs in less than 2 years, because I did my research in forums and found out that I wasn’t the only one with the same problem. Thank you.
