I love this idea the postman lives in a post-time reality so far removed that time is not a passage, it is a substance, like controlling the flow of a tap at his command. He pauses and resumes at his will. the only reason the moon continues to descend is because he has deemed it simply the natural order of things before he leaves Termina.

Also stop sucking yourselves off. Everyone has a thing or 2 they say and don't know the origin. Over time something will just take on an entirely new meaning. Fell asleep last night at 3am watching the run. It's 3 am again, perfect time to resume watching where I left off

This is seriously one of the most impressive, entertaining and straight-up fire speed runs I’ve ever seen. Great job, Phil. I’ve no idea how you did half the shit you did, but do it you most certainly did. Epic.
Went back after finishing watching the run and counted the Postman tries:
1st attempt 11 tries between 52:09-55:16 (3mins7seconds)
2nd attempt: 26 tries between 4:42:24-4:49:34 (7mins10 seconds)
Total: 37 tries for a total of 10minutes7seconds.
Utterly insanely bad luck.
With those taken out, the finishing time is just barely over 5 hours, and that’s with the second blue dog run too.
Absolutely crazy run Phil, incredible to watch, the amount of movement over the 5 hours and ensuring that everything is routed to allow you to get to where you need just as you need to be there is amazing.
Some bad luck kept you from the fabled sub-5 marathon run but this is nothing at all to be sniffed at.
Fantastic stuff.

The 2016 AGDQ MM 100% run was one of my absolute favorite runs for the past few years for the great commentary and the sheer insanity of everything coming together, and so I was thrilled to see this category coming back this year. It’s absolutely amazing seeing the new route and the new tricks that were developed over the years (iceless is dang amazing dude). Congratulations on another great run of such a difficult and technical game!

I was busy with work this week so I had to miss the run, but I'm super excited see this run. Phil is one of the 4 guys from the original GDQ run of this category that got me interested in speedrunning and twitch, so I'm super hyped to finally see it return to GDQ.

I missed this live, stumbled upon it when looking through highlights and holy moly, I thought the golden days of speedrunning was done, this was so entertaining I ruined my sleep for work and I didn't even watch it live
This is the run that made his career. After this, he gained +1,000 viewers daily. Before such a spike in viewers, he mentioned that he could just barely pay the bills. I'm sure he's doing better now.
I'm so happy for him. I stopped watching when he started playing Pokemon but every time I come back, he's still got the same vibe.
Don't know how many times I've watched this, but I absolutely love this run. Quite possibly my favourite speed run of all time. Everything was explained so well, the speed and efficiency and the amount of fun the couch, runner and commentator.

I just love rewatching this run.
Always a pleasure watching Phil run at a GDQ. Great commentary, great run, postman was unlucky but everything else was really solid in this one, especially the temples. I mean, first try iceless at a GDQ? 100,000 people had the biggest nut of their lives on the spot.
This run was absolutely amazing! The commentary, the incredible chemistry with Patty, it was all great! Postman was a little sad but I am super glad you managed to get such a solid run in! Always happy to see MM in GDQs, and this run was definitely the crop of the cream. Good job,Phil!💜❤️

This was AWESOME. It’s the first 100% MM speedrun I’ve watched. I knew of many of the glitches you used, but I’ve only been able to pull some of them off a couple of times, and here you are making it look as easy as wiping your butt... mad respect man.

Paddy is the best commentator whether on the couch or reading donations off screen: A Smartass but friendly, Funny yet Warm, and a smooth voice with good flow.

Im watching this cuz these games are my nostalgic favorites. I never had the brain power, and now don't have the time or motivation and still no brain power to beat majoras mask. So it's cool to watch this big brained phil blast through it.
21:20 okay ive thought about this scene A LOT, and my interpretation is that he takes you to a part of the clock tower you can't actually reach in gameplay, and the "piano" is supposed to be a carillon housed in the clock tower.

Despite GDQ having quite the bad reputation even at this point, this was a great career choice for Phil. After this, his daily viewer count permanently changed for the better. Went up a few hundred viewers. This was probably the best run of SGDQ 2019, despite his terrible luck. In fact, because of his terrible luck, it was in fact the best run of the marathon. Made for very entertaining content.
I don't know much about gdq. Why do they have a bad reputation?

Gdq has been criticized for increasingly corporate practices, serious shift towards a less personal atmosphere, using political stances as excuses to ban speedrunners, lied to accomplish said bannings, and have been outed for nepotism amongst the staff, such as a person on the approval team being allowed to submit runs to the event. Also, heavily increased hardassery, seen here when a guy got kicked from viewing this run for sleeping.

So what I've learned from MM 100% is that BOTH N64 3D Zelda games have run killers a few hours into the run; Postman in MM and Dampe in OoT
only 50 minutes. Most runners dont run just once a day or anything. its bad but not horrid. lol

It's past midnight. I'm playing Terraria, trying to figure out my route for completing the game by reading up on the Wiki. I find a weapon that, in the trivia section of the wiki, says that it may possibly be a reference to the Fierce Deity Sword from MM.
I am immediately overwhelmed with the urge to watch this speedrun again.
