    If your thinking of coming to Prime Inc or want to get your CDL license. I honestly believe Prime is a solid company to start your trucking journey.
    Make sure when you fill out the online application @ www.primeinc.com put my driver code STREXA on page 2 of the application when it ask who referred you. Thanks for watching my video 🙂🙏

    My rule of thumb is when I start seeing cars pull over then that means I should be pulling over. Driving in weather like that, with high winds, is not fun. I'd rather be late then not get there at all.

    I've been watching your videos for a bit now. I've been wanting to get my CDL for some time now, but never did pursue it more. I used to work for Dollar General, and they started their own Fleet service, and I was gonna go through them while I was working at a store and get my CDL with them, but in Dec. 2020 I was held at gunpoint at my store and DG wouldn't do anything to help me, so I quit. I'm based out of NY, and I've already passed 2 out of 3 tests for my CDL Permit. After watching your videos more, I put an application in to Prime Inc. (and used your driver code), and I'm really looking forward to this! I'm hoping to drive tanker myself. I guess I can say you're an inspiration to me at this point. Keep doing what you're doing, and I hope we cross paths someday so I can shake your hand.

    I was brought up when go to someone's home you are there to see them not the house. So your truck is fine don't sweat the small shit. I'm surprised that the truck stops don't have generators so they could still conduct business, hell casinos do. Enjoy the vids keep um comin be safe ✌️

    On my truck 579 peterbilt calls for 110 psi front tires, also after driving the tires are still warm and will always give a higher reading after a drive so let them cool down before taking a reading,

    Unique situation. Act of God. Powers out. It is what it is. Tank wash, fuel. Van driver ended up on his side. Safe travels. Note to self, heat expands the air in the tires and increases air pressure. Safe travels and memories and a good story made

    Damn dude, you won't catch me driving in 80 mph winds too dangerous and risky for a rollover, no amount of money is worth that driver! Stay safe....EDIT:Driving semi's for 12 years so yeah, Weather conditions don't care how many years ya got!!

    • @truckingwithrex
      @truckingwithrex  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Kinda came out of nowhere. Glad I’m pulling tankers (less likely to rollover due to high winds). Reefer and dryvan are at higher risk

    • @josaywhat
      @josaywhat ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay even if that's a factor with the tanker..truck is still a truck mid-roof or not, what's stopping the truck from rolling over? Ultimately count your blessings you didn't roll over bro! Take care

      Didn't Rex pull over? Like Rex said, the wind came out of nowhere. I noticed the other trucker with the dryvan trailer did not pull over. Hint: That's why that other trucker ended up on its side.

    Why are you checking you’re air pressure in tires when there hot ? Isn’t it better to check air pressures when tires are cool ?

    • @Lifeon18wheelz
      @Lifeon18wheelz ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s pointless to check tire pressure when there hot.. Always check them when there cold

    • @truckingwithrex
      @truckingwithrex  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was 75 outside when I adjusted the air pressure in the afternoon. I agree you shouldn’t be adjusting air pressure when it’s really hot 90-110 degrees outside.

  • @JR-lb4ng
    @JR-lb4ng ปีที่แล้ว

    Just yesterday I was on I-71 S at a rest area and saw a grey Prime truck with a tanker. Had to look to make sure if it was you or not, but I saw it was a Peterbilt and a high bunk, so I knew even before looking at the graphics that it was not.

    Just curious if you get paid to go to the tank washes, or is it figured into each load. Seems like a lot of time is wasted going to them all the time. I pull dedicated tankers (same product always) so we only have to have them washed once a year when they get inspected

    • @truckingwithrex
      @truckingwithrex  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don’t get paid to wait at tank wash, if I have to go somewhere else prime adds the extra miles driven in the load

    Years Ago,
    I was hauling hay down US99 near Bakersfield long after dark on a hot
    summer night when I pulled into this truckstop for some supper. The
    place was full. I had to park way out by the highway & hoof it to the
    restaurant. So I'm walking behind this row of trailers when betwix 2
    tanker trailers I find this guy putting it to another in the dark. I stop &
    hollered 'What the hell is going on here'? I ask & the guy on top says
    'This guy had a heart attack'. I told him 'That aint the way you do it you
    dumb SOB, your suppose to give him mouth to mouth'. When the guy
    on the bottom looks up & says 'How to you think this all got started'?
    !

    I have a question. Is it easier to take on heavy wind with a tank as opposed to a van or a reefer? I'm thinking the shape of the tank allows it to cut through the wind better but I've never pulled a tank.

    • @truckingwithrex
      @truckingwithrex  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, with tankers you get less wind affect also the mid-roof cuts down on this as well. Making me less likely to get blown over in high winds!

    When they do a tank wash, is there a person who goes in the tank to wash it out, how does it work?

    • @truckingwithrex
      @truckingwithrex  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These tank washes have a device that seats on top of the tanker dome and blast 220 degrees heat all inside the tank, sometimes yes the cleaner are required to go inside for special cleaning.

    Growing up in Maryland, fireworks were illegal. We could only have those lame sparklers or the poopy popper things lol. So I'd always get excited to come here to Tennessee to visit and see all the fireworks. My brother and cousins would shoot them off in their front yard and I'd run around trying to grab the little army men parachuting down. Its still a great memory. Or flashforward to when I was around 12 and my brother was like 20 and we went outside once to fire an old firework from 4th of July but couldn't get it to sit up straight on the ground so we put it in a glass vase and just aimed it at the sky. It took off right at the side of my grandma's house and hit, leaving a big black mark. My brother looked at me and said "We were never here." lol. That black mark was there for decades.
