That games high on my backlog "To Play" list. I've heard good things about it, some minor clunk but a relatively good game for being a media tie in. If memory serves right, the game was also priced under a full priced release, being $30 here in the states. A fair deal for what it is.

I love that game. It captured the feel of the movie really well. Rambo was a trainwreck however. Poor Sly looked like a potato with sausages sticking out, and a hairy grape on top. And the "mission successful" voice at the end sounded like a sexual predator maing an obscene phonecall.
At least they continued to exist, and made Terminator Resistance, because this could have been the last we would've heard of them, if they unfortunate like some other companies.
While having never played Rambo or Terminator: Resistance, the fact that the later is more polished shows one thing, the teams are learning, meaning subsequent releases could very well get better and better

I just realized this is the same team that made the Robocop game that is hailed as the best 2A game of 2023. Man seeing them turning things around is inspiring, together with them releasing the dlc for free and providing free upgrades for the Terminator game, I have huge respect for this team.
Apparently the people handling the old dialogue clips didn't know about Izotope RX, an appplication and plugin developed for the exact purpose of restoring and cleaning up audio that's been around since at least 2008...
My boss is a Polish immigrant. Very awesome guy, but doesn't think things through very thoroughly, and from what he tells me that's kind of a cultural thing when it comes to work. Like, work hard obviously, but do what you need to to get the job done, and don't waste time on the extra things. Playing Gothic and other games that are popular in Poland kind of demonstrates this mentality, and I don't think it's a bad one under the right circumstances.
I could believe it having not been a disaster development (thus not necessarily a subject for this show) prior to this being made, since the game is very low quality, but it feels moreso in a "barely anything is here" way, rather than "there's a lot and it's all broken" manner like the Sonic topics, Spirits Within, etc.
I could understand making a rail shooter out of Rambo's II & III, but not First Blood. The sequels are for the most part gung ho, testosterone pumping, action blockbusters. First Blood is a tragedy about how America's Vietnam War veterans were cast aside by the society they fought so hard for, causing one man's PTSD to finally break him. The end of the Police Station shootout ends with Colonel Trautman screaming at Rambo "It's Over!" but doesn't include the gut wrenching speech John gives about reliving his best friend being blown up through constant nightmares which just feels... wrong to not include...

Ya know, a game version of First Blood would make a pretty good stealth game, considering the content of the movie (only 1 guy gets killed, and it's mostly Rambo evading the cops and setting non-lethal traps).

Agreed on all counts. Especially Terminator Resistance. It’s not the greatest FPS ever made but it shows a lot of care and obvious reverence for Terminator 1&2, plus some truly good infiltration sequences. It’s actually heart warming that the devs survived the Rambo fiasco and improved.
Watching this video with 2024-hindsight was a bit of a ride. I remember when this game plopped out in 2014 and remembered hearing how absolutely dreadful it was. What I did not remember was that the developers were the ones behind Terminator Resistance and *Rogue City* of all things. Damn, that's a helluva glowup. Especially after hearing about their early career before this game, seeing Teyon go from games like this is oddly inspiring, that you can blunder as hard as Rambo 2014 and still have a chance to redeem yourself like that. It's the kind of stories I'm happy to hear at the ends of What Happened episodes.
A bit unrelated, but considering what I've been seeing lately about Babylon's Fall's unspectacular launch, you might end up having to do a video about that game some time down the road as well

I would love to see a video on what happened during the development on Black Ops 4 or even the game Rambo recently returned in Black Ops: Cold War because from what I've heard with that game was it was originally supposed to be one of Sledgehammer's games but due to disagreements it became a Treyarch one

Really tragic case, to be honest - good story, solid gameplay, but bombed hard nevertheless. I'm talking about Binary Domain from Bandai Namco. Hope you'll take a look at it one day.
I queued for more than 90 minutes at Gamescom in Cologne Germany to be able to test it. When it was my turn because of the janky controls I couldn't play 5 minutes before I went dead. The usual, if you went on in the game, the next one came right away, so I queued for over 90 minutes and then couldn't even play 5 minutes... At the end there was a poll at the booth where I gave 1 out of 5 and they then asked why🤣
Good to hear what happened for smaller dev teams have a more happy ending then the normal. Personally I never played this game because I had a bad feeling about it when I saw it in a store.
Props for using a still from the credits of one of my favorite TV shows, Jeeves and Wooster! Making a Rambo on rails shooter that is fun should not be hard, this is one of the more interesting episodes of this show.

Everybody is talking about Terminator: Resistance being underrated, and that's true, but can we talk about Free Running that's briefly shown at 2:06? I think it's one of the best Parcour-games out there, especially for it's age. Unlike Dying Light or Assassins Creed, where Parcour is just part of the gameplay, and Mirrors Edge, where it's mostly about getting from A to B, Free Running is the only Parcour-game that I'm aware of that actually includes a wide variety of tricks, aerial, on the ground, ans while vaulting, on top of movement-based challenges. And the levels are surprisingly multi-layered and interconnected for a game that's almost 20 years old.
Btw, the arcade version by Sega is amazingly good, it's a HotD-like shooting game with QTE's that play movie clips in between, with pretty amazing usage of the footage and situations too. If you haven't ever played it, I totally recommend it... It can be "emulated" on PC with Teknoparrot if you dont have an arcade near you :)

I never even knew it released or that it had a release date. I only heard about it when it was first revealed and then absolutely nothing until I found out just today that it has launched and that it's live service and that its launch day is even more abysmal than Crystal's Avengers. Yeah exactly. John Rambo kills exactly 0 people directly in First Blood, so it's so bizarre to have a level dedicated to it.

Babylons Fall making a good case for Wha Happun
I never even knew it released or that it had a release date. I only heard about it when it was first revealed and then absolutely nothing until I found out just today that it has launched and that it's live service and that its launch day is even more abysmal than Crystal's Avengers. And I was hyped for this game when it was first revealed. Now I'm sad to hear it's following the same path a lot of other Squenix games have been following lately. This is primo Wha Happun
