      For the price of this TV, it should look amazing and sound amazing! Which it does but Sharp needs to make some that folks like me can afford. I just bought 2 new 65" TV's from Samsung and one was 629.99 and the other was 679.99 That's about all I'm going to spend bc I just don't have thousands of dollars to spend on a TV. I've always liked Sharp, but not enough to spend what they want for these TV's. Thanks for the video!

    I bought a SHARP AQUOS 52" in 2011. I read all the reviews at the time and chose to buy the SHARP. I think I paid about $1300 at the time. Well, I'm still enjoying that TV. It's as good as it ever wise. It's as bright and vibrant as it was in 2011. I'm a movie buff so this TV has been perfect ! I've sold Samsung , LG and almost every brand out there. My fist flat/wide screen lcd tv was a 2001? $4000.00 37” 720p Sharp Aquos - silver with side mounted speakers and the tuner in a separate box (like LG’s ? one connect box) it was a great TV that was still going strong when I last saw it in 2013. My next was a far less expensive 47” 1080p Sharp Aquos purchased in 2007 and is currently still going strong and looking great at my brothers home as a second TV. I currently have a Hisense 4k 55U6G model which is doing a terrific job but which I would not have purchased if I could have trusted the Sharp Aquos name after its sale some years ago. I am THRILLED to see this unboxing and review and to see if Sharp Aquos can regain its name as a leader in the industry. I am really giving some thought to changing up to such a high quality product because I’ve seen the build quality before and have never regretted my investment in it. Good luck Sharp.

It’s a 720P but at 27”, the picture is still adequate. I just can’t part with it. I have a special relationship with this TV because of its quality and the fact that I don’t need a soundbar. I am really interested in this TV. After it has been tested a bit and checked for stuff. I think this is the TV I would want. I am curious about them doing their own SOC. So no MediaTek?
    If it has 3 2.1 HDMI that would be cool. Not a deal breaker for me. I only really need 2. I love the fact you can actually play with color temp settings and fine tune them to your own liking.
    Imagine LG with their green tint or Samsung with red tint having that. You could just go in and tweak it and reduce any of that stuff and just hone in exactly how you like it.
    I also have a feeling this TV doesn't dim as much as Sony and Samsung does this year with smaller highlights. But still perhaps retaining black levels and less blooming.
    They make their own panels and processors. That is also nice.
    The sound is really impressive.
    The pricing also doesn't seem too high. Just wish this would sell in Canada and I can actually get it, if it lives up to potential. No TV is perfect.

    • @michaelbeckerman7532
      @michaelbeckerman7532 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that may be a little bit of a stretch there to say that they are doing their own SoC. Even the description on their spec sheet seems to imply that they are sourcing that from MediaTek (MTK T51P). Now, they may well have provided a design spec to MediaTek for it and they may well have written their only algorithms to run inside of that processor, the exact same way Sony does with MediaTek on their X1 and XR Cognitive processors, but there's a VERY big difference between actually building your own SoC and just spec'ing one out to a 3rd-party supplier. There is no way that SHARP is actually manufacturing that SoC in-house. They would have to have their own chip fabs to do that and they simply don't have that capacity in house today. Now, that's no knock against SHARP though as very few companies in the world today have the capacity to build, own and operate their own chip fabs. Recall that it takes a couple of billion dollars and a three-to-five-year construction effort just to bring a new one of those on-line. Only companies with the scope and scale of LG, Samsung, Intel and TSMC have the resources at their disposal to be able do that today. Making your own LCD panels is one thing. Building and operating your own modern chip fab that can do a 10-14nm fabrication process is an entirely other thing altogether.

    • @loki76
      @loki76 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelbeckerman7532 Could be the case. But searching for the MTK T51P doesn't show any specific MediaTek SoC. Makes you wonder what it is then. It's not MT5895 etc etc that is common if not a Pentonic. So what is the T51P SoC??
      Otherwise it seems Sharp is almost vertically integrated. They have their own panels, factories and so on. They are not using TCL or AUO panels etc like Sony and so on.
      So them making their own SoC, who knows. We already know they make their own processor in the "Medalist" or whatever it is called. Similar to how Sony have "XR" processor.
      I can't see it having 3 HDMI 2.1 if it's MediaTek SoC. So then it would have to be 2 of them.

    • @michaelbeckerman7532
      @michaelbeckerman7532 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@loki76well, I only ask this question because having your own panel factories and having an actual chip fab are two very different things entirely. I'd just like to know the specific details here on this. It's funny how TV manufacturers don't ever really want to provide many details on their processors. We demand incredible levels of details from PC manufacturers on the chips they use and we get them. Yet, when it comes to our TVs, which are basically just LINUX computers now today, we get just an obscure name and that's about it, and sometimes we don't even get that. That seriously needs to change. We need to start pressing ALL TV manufacturers to be as forthcoming with the details on their processors as PC manufacturers are on the ones they use. These modern TVs are just computers now (with big displays attached) and it's about time we started treating them like it - all of us.

    I have a 65in Sharp Aqous 1080p tv I bought in 2013 for $1000. It always looks good, and the only problem is the remote stopped working a few months ago.
    Of course now I have a Samsung 65in qled from 2020 and I just got a Samsung s90c qd oled.
    The Sharp is the 1st flat screen tv I ever had. As a smart tv it only had a bad early Netflix that took forever to load and TH-cam, and that was about it.

    Hi Brian. So I checked the VE website and noticed that the Sharp FS1 OLED was priced less than this one. Why is this? Asking bc since shopping around, I've noticed that minLEDs where less than OLEDS.

    • @valueelectronics9390
      @valueelectronics9390 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sharp's AQUOS XLED is the new flagship QD MiniLED TV. Sharp's new 2023 OLED TVs they are bring into the USA are excellent OLED TVs, but the US's FS1 is their entry level OLED TV. Sharp's new 2023 FS1 55" and 65" OLED TVs are comparable to LG's new 2023 C3 OLED TV and Sharp is using LG Display's new 2023 EX OLED module.
      Sharp's new FS1 OLED TV is $1,499 for the 55" and $1,999 for the 65" and these new OLED TVs are an exceptional value/performance choice.

    • @darkcamo77
      @darkcamo77 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the breakdown. They also have the FQ1 that is WOLED. Is that the only diff between the 2 regarding the specs and ports/speakers? Would it also be pricier than the FS1 and will you be carrying it?

    • @valueelectronics9390
      @valueelectronics9390 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@darkcamo77 Not sure what all of the spec's will be on Sharp's QD OLED TVs when they finally come to the US, which will likely be available in the US for the 2024 model year. The main difference will be the QD OLED panel vs. the new 2023 LG EX OLED panel.

    Hi Brian, looking to upgrade my old 65" Samsung JS8500. I love this old TV as it was 2015 and the higher end TV's at that time supported 4K HDR while keeping 3DTV support. I ended up keeping it longer than expected. I've been waiting for OLED tech to clear a brightness hurdle as my living room is very bright (corner apartment with floor to ceiling windows on two of the walls). Now with MiniLED getting closer to OLED, what would you recommend for a 75"? Is MiniLED necessary for my case or can the new 77" OLED's get bright enough? Last month I went ahead and picked up a QN900b 75" now that it was steeply discounted, but the screen arrived cracked. I saw FOMO's posted s90c with AAA discount and thought: Maybe?! Thanks!

    Hi Brian I just got a 75 inch for this model and do have some questions regarding google assistant and sound settings.
    Does it have hands free google assistant built in? I tried "Hey google" but it isn't working.
    The default sound setting it comes with is flat and voice is hollow and high pitch. Only when i switch off the height speaker setting and select the standard audio preset and crank up the bass to 100 do I get decent sound.
    Am I missing something or is my set defective?

When it first came out it got great reviews then they added firmware updates and it wasn't so good until they did a few more updates.
