I have a feeling the Devs added the ability to lie about being a Starborn later into the dev cycle, because they realized cutting off basically the whole main quest on NG+ might not be good. In reality, they'd have to make an entire second game, because every single interaction would have to be wildly different. You'd never be surprised again, every investigative quest could be finished in 30 seconds, etc.
Cora brings a lot with her company. Imagine how awful that lingering silence would have been, after realizing Walter was blind? A nice hello to change the subject and break that awkward silence.
"Our loved ones exist in our lives for a set place, and a set time. There is no going back." Yeah =[ I was a successful Ranger with a happy family and now I'll never see them again. I only went into the Unity because Sam wanted to go. Everything else IS a terrible lie, and now I'm stuck in an infinite loop of universe, artifacts, universe, artifacts! :D
One thing I love about Starfield's narrative is that as you play through the main game the Hunter seems unreasonable, callous, etc. But by the time you've gone through the Unity a few times, you somewhat start to see why he felt the way he did. Does. Whatever. And he states he has been through it hundreds or thousands of times already. That's pretty cool, games don't usually get to have that level of meta-narrative.
"Crora, SHUT THE FUCK UP." - Everybody who brings Sam on their ship, probably. Yeah she's charming the first few times, but when she's talking over dialog, she's the worst. Which is a shame, Sam's abilities are great.
The Emissary intends to "test" anyone who is assembling the artifacts, to ensure they live up to his/her moral code. They essentially intend to gatekeep, though given the amount of destruction meddling with the Unity can cause, there's at least SOME merit to not wanting literally anyone to be able to pursue its power and do whatever they want. They resist you because this version of the Emissary doesn't know you yet- they only know the version of you that usually dies in their timeline. And so they're resistant to you claiming the additional powers and going through the Unity, until they're sure you're up to THEIR standards. By contrast, the Hunter is far more utilitarian and essentially anarchist about who should be able to achieve Unity. Who succeeds, deserves. And yet, the Hunter's "Whoever is strongest should get to win" mentality rings a little hollow given he's immediately starting with a COLOSSAL lead on anyone else who attempts to ascend. It's a bit like an Olympic athlete saying "the most fit wins!" to a group of toddlers, considering he has been through the Unity literally thousands of times by this point, amassing powers even our character can't get after the max 10 loops of upgrades. So ironically, both have a point but go about enforcing their will in the most asinine way possible. Which is why the game subtly pushes you towards siding against both; every member of Constellation gains approval if you choose this, and there's frequent subtle hinting that both of the Starborn we discuss with have been essentially warped and become arrogant/callous due to their universe-hopping. In fact, it's subtly hinted that becoming Starborn has a very, very high chance of kind of messing you up mentally.

Walter doesn't recognize its design... yet is in a Starborn ship lol
The Starborn didn't recognize the ship either, keep in mind.
Yeah, they should have added different dialogue there.
More like the devs expected you to be in a regular or custom ship and not remain in the guardian ship

Sam is the worst father in the universe. lol
When Sam died it was basically the silver lining for me no more Cora
Makes me never want to take companions when they all start talking over each other with their dumb filler
Sam and Cora are the worst offenders. Andreja and Sarah are usually quiet.
Man, it would be great if they could make the crew members sftu when there’s ship-to-ship dialogue going on.
Why does the other starborn not want you to leave again? He has already left his own universe once.
Because the emissary is a self righteous hypocrite.
@@jizzyb3216 Exaxtly. The Hunter is the one that makes sense

because the Emissary is a hypocrit
@@scyobiempire4450 The Hunter and Emissary are both hypocrites in their own ways.
So nobody makes any comment. Not even the starborn when you use the ship. Damn thats a shame
I really hate the cross talk that happens in many of these cutscenes. it's so dumb
Couldn't have maybe reloaded a save and spared us the stupid jokes overlaying the dialog?
Hello!
