No one comes to the Father Jehovah God but through Him. Not long after I got saved I prayed to God for help understanding the Holy Bible, and that same day someone knocked on my door asking me if I wanted to understand the Bible. The Holy Bible says, "love thy enemy", "turn the other cheek", "If your enemy is hungry, feed him", "if he is thirsty, give him a drink", "pray for those who persecute you", "do not repay evil for evil". LORD willing, all humans may commit sin of almost every kind (gay, straight), and that's wrong, and all humans sin, as God tells us through the The Holy Bible, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." The Holy Bible also says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
Changing Brainiac to Krypton’s AI that hides the truth to help save itself is an underrated move for this show. It makes a certain hard logic for a computer to see saving its data as preferable to wasting time trying to save a doomed planet. Krypton “lives on” in his software right? Now Brainiac has a unique connection to Superman as his “original” enemy.
Without the risk of spoiling anything, Brainiac's portrayal in this show is deliciously sinister. He has another specific reason for not warning the Kryptonians of their impending doom, which also really feeds into his hard computer logic.
My adventures with superman has something in a similar vein. I like it, tying brainiac to kypton is nice and it highlights his complete selfishness compared to the selflessness of superman and jor el saving him.
I prefer the Coluon backstory for Brainiac on principle, but that’s with regards to personal taste as a storyteller; it’s a genius move in this show and connects him and Kal-El intimately…
The "human error" line is simply explained. Everything we are hearing is a translation. They'd be speaking Kryptonian, not English, and the show is translating it. The closest translation into English for the concept is "human error".
I mean human in this case doesn't necessarily mean human as in the species. Like how humane can be applied to aliens too, because humane doesn't actually have much to do with humans rather with actions. Brainiac saying human era basically just means that biological life forms will always make errors, which is how Jor-El immediately knew he really was lying
I think it also comes down to the fact that 'Kryptonian' means being from the plant Krypton, much like we would be counted as 'Earthlings', but we don't refer to ourselves as "Earthlings". The people of Krypton are the Kryptonian equivalent of Earth's humans.
Not really considering they're now watching it OUT of the intended order (this was meant to be watched between seasons 2 and 3 of Batman, aka before the art style change, since that's how it aired). Keep in mind, this was the bronze age and Gordanians, cool as they are, are kind of D-listers in the cosmic DC scene whose only saving grace compared to their original masters, The Citadel, is that they've actually been adapted multiple times whilst the Citadel have no noticeable adaptations in any other mediums. Certainly not as well known as John Williams or Danny Elfman, but her work is such a huge part of the DCAU's identity.
Yyyyyeeeeessss! This series is underrated compared to BTAS, so glad it’s here. To me, this is Superman - it just gets him in all the best ways, strengths and weaknesses, and is easily one of the most compelling depictions of him. I’ll also never get over how the voice actor of a character who built up everything from nothing, treats everyone around him like they’re worth nothing, and is obsessed with money also plays Lex Luthor
The lack of showing Krypto getting off planet is due to the show being under strict rules at the time to maintain the mandate that Superman was the only survivor of Krypton so they took the opportunity to show him beforehand despite the implications. This extends to Supergirl as well (not a spoiler since they mentioned "Girl's Night Out"), which is why they have her using the look of the then current Supergirl in comics who wasn't Kara and changed this Supergirl's origin to not technically be Kryptonian while getting as close as possible with "Argos" that Sul-Van mentioned being in reference to Argo City though the details will come up later. The odd thing about Jor-El's plan to use the Phantom Zone is that it begs the question of why he didn't use it on who he could, fly the ship himself to Earth and let them out. Maybe there were more restrictions on using it than what will be seen later that Jor-El couldn't get past until after everything was destroyed, but nothing was said.
Great to see you're reacting to this, I hope you all enjoy it! I believe this series started with the origin because it had been some time since the movies had released, while the Batman series was started to capitalize on the release of Tim Burton's Batman movies, so they expected more viewers to already know his backstory going in.
After this, you guys should watch My Adventures with Superman starring Jack Quaid as Clark Kent. Jack Quaid was the actor who played Hughie from the Boys.
Oh, yeah. That nostalgia comes rushing back. I watched very little of the so called DCAU outside of Justice League do to limited opportunities, but the first three episodes of STAS are the exception. I watched them many a time on a well loved VHS. THIS was my Krypton. THIS is the origin of Clark Kent I hold dearest. THIS is my Superman. Though I recently, I have gotten a second favorite animated Superman from My Adventures with Superman. I believe it will be well worth your time to react to down the road.
When originally designing the look of the show, the production team came up with retro designs inspired by the 1940's Fleischer Superman shorts. But ultimately, Bruce Timm went in a different direction, as he didn't want to draw unfavorable comparisons to Fleischer Superman.
I love this show. Really well done. Glad you're doing this show. Looking forward to reliving it with you. Shooter McGavin voicing Jor-El was a really cool touch.
Jor-El voiced by Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore, Brainiac voiced by Corey Burton the voice of Cad Bane & Clone Wars Count Dooku among others. This show was already to great start with the voice cast. Hope you guys get to check out My Adventures with Superman, its really good
The first three episodes are now part 1, part 2, part 3 but back when it was coming out they aired them in prime time, edited together as a 90-minute movie. Definitely keep watching those voice credits, this show is going to end up having a lot of fun surprises in that department! I think the whole "human error" thing makes a lot more sense if you consider that they weren't really speaking English, the show was just translating for us, and that in reality he said whatever phrase in Kryptonese is the equivalent of our "human error."
I’m so happy you guys are finally watching this show, I really hope you guys eventually watch the JL and JLU shows as well they’re just as amazing as this show and BTAS
I watched both Batman and Superman when they aired, but this show was always my favorite. Because it leads right into the Justice League series. P.s. this series has some of my all-time favorite story arcs out of any D.C. animated series.
17:40: I choose to head-cannon it as a Lord of the Rings situation; they're not speaking English, we hear English because the story is told in English; they're speaking Kryptonian. Reasonable to assume that the story is being translated into a way we can understand, so the phrase "human error" is a translation of a similar phrase on Krypton. It may not be exactly what Brainiac said, but it's the best-suited phrase to help us understand the story.
Woohoo!! Yes we are starting Superman reactions let’s go Blind Wave! Funny enough im actually already begun Superman Tas the other week ago so, I’m a head of you guys lol
In DC lore, all of life originated on Earth with the Guardians, a race of small blue people that later create the Green Lantern Corp. That's why there's so many humanoid species in the universe.
Now, we're talking. Batman is an alright show. Superman is one of my top favorites of the DCEU. This is where we really start heading for the peak of this animated universe.
THEYRE DOING IT!!! Love the members for voting for this. I honestly prefer BTAS, but I like STAS as well, and I feel like both are needed to get into JL and JLU which are the true highlights of this verse.
This show truly is an underrated gem of the DCAU and such a great interpretation of Superman and his world. I really love what this did to reinvent Brainiac as Krypton's former AI who determined Krypton was doomed regardless of what he may have done and as the cold, uncaring, selfish, sinister AI he is he determined what point is there to attempt to save Krypton and just let them all die. Honestly I actually prefer this origin idea of Brainiac as Kryptons AI rather than his canon origin as an alien from the planet Colu. I just think its a wonderful way to tie Brainiac to Jor El and Clarks own personal history and this origin idea has be used again most recently in the new My Adventures With Superman animated show with how they interpret Brainiac as Kryptons AI. Btw I'd highly recommend you guys check out My Adventures With Superman its another terrific take on Superman and truly gets Superman, Lois, Jimmy, Supergirl etc all so right and has a unique and creative anime artstyle to it which gives it its own identity, and the voice of Superman in the show is Jack Quaid (aka Hughie from the Boys) and he does and he gives an outstanding performance.
The Superman equivalent to Batman The Animated Series. Just as good, but sadly, people don't remember it. Enjoy it, it's the perfect representation of Superman.
i love this show. Shout out to Paul Dini for not only this show/Characters but Harley Quinn and so many others. I don't like Brainiac as kryptonian but he made it WORK. Superman theme songs rock!
I hope when you guys get to the World's Finest Episodes in season 2 you watch all 3 parts together! It aired as one movie, even though it's technically 3 episodes ❤
Hmmm I'm pretty sure that music they played when Jor-El says good bye is the one that Justice League had for For The Man Who Has Everything episode. Which is kinda nuts that they used the same song when those episode were like, 10 years apart.
So excited this won, I love the DC Animated Universe. I hope you guys get to Justice League Unlimited. That is my favorite animated series of all time, those reactions would be awesome!
Probably my favourite design of Mama Kal-El. Alexandra Daddario Dark Hair, and big blue eyes is a very memorable choice. I ONLY remember his mum from the first episode but even as a child to know I always remembered her design.
I'm very happy to see this on here bc this show is very underrated. It's the perfect counter-balance to Batman the Animated Series. Also, if you guys follow this up with Justice League and Justice League Unlimited (please do), this show serves as its prologue.
Intro's for the DCAU shows get progressively worse in terms of spoiling things, with the Justice League Unlimited intros having actual spoilers from the current episode. I believe the current Intro at this time of the series spoils stuff from episodes 1-..10? 8? Something somewhere maybe close to that. I can't remember if they update it with new spoilers as the series progresses or not.

Shirley Walker was a legend in her own regard.
Love the origin for the kryptonite too
Hell yeah! So happy this won! Underappreciated show with some big set ups for the greater DCAU.
Tony Jay was in season one of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman as an associate of Lex Luthor
WAS JUST WATCHING THIS!
YES!! We are only a few seasons away from "world's finest"!
One season
Away from World's finest
oohhh I always think it's in season 3. But the sooner the better :P
We're only 11 episodes away from "Tools of the Trade"
Great to see you're reacting to this, I hope you all enjoy it!
I believe this series started with the origin because it had been some time since the movies had released, while the Batman series was started to capitalize on the release of Tim Burton's Batman movies, so they expected more viewers to already know his backstory going in.
After this, you guys should watch My Adventures with Superman starring Jack Quaid as Clark Kent. Jack Quaid was the actor who played Hughie from the Boys.
No Justice League
@@Kobe24brady12 How about after they go through the DCAU, they then watch MAWS?
Guys I’m so happy you are reacting to Superman! You guys are the absolute best! Onward to JL and Unlimited and Beyond!
I'm so unbelievably happy you guys are doing Superman TAS!! I've been wanting you guys to do this show since the first time I've seen it
8:11 Aaron's impression of Brainiac is really similar to Brainiac's voice in My Adventures with Superman
When originally designing the look of the show, the production team came up with retro designs inspired by the 1940's Fleischer Superman shorts. But ultimately, Bruce Timm went in a different direction, as he didn't want to draw unfavorable comparisons to Fleischer Superman.
This series premiered in prime time as a 90 minute movie
I think the whole "human error" thing makes a lot more sense if you consider that they weren't really speaking English, the show was just translating for us, and that in reality he said whatever phrase in Kryptonese is the equivalent of our "human error."
excited for superman, hope they continue UAF
Looking forward to them (hopefully) watching My Adventures With Superman after this ❤
This is my favorite of the DCAU. Im so very excited. This show is perfect
You are need to watch Batman: Caped Crusader and My Adventures with Superman
I’m so happy you guys are finally watching this show, I really hope you guys eventually watch the JL and JLU shows as well they’re just as amazing as this show and BTAS
I’m glad that they’re watching this, StAS is actually my favorite between the two.
i have the entire show on dvd and watched it all the time as a kid. im so glad they are watching this
I watched both Batman and Superman when they aired, but this show was always my favorite. Because it leads right into the Justice League series. P.s. this series has some of my all-time favorite story arcs out of any D.C. animated series.
Love the first three episodes they do such a great job as an introduction
17:40: I choose to head-cannon it as a Lord of the Rings situation; they're not speaking English, we hear English because the story is told in English; they're speaking Kryptonian.
Reasonable to assume that the story is being translated into a way we can understand, so the phrase "human error" is a translation of a similar phrase on Krypton. It may not be exactly what Brainiac said, but it's the best-suited phrase to help us understand the story.
I know we just started superman but it just gets me so excited that we might finally see them react to the justice league animated series
Woohoo!! Yes we are starting Superman reactions let’s go Blind Wave! Funny enough im actually already begun Superman Tas the other week ago so, I’m a head of you guys lol
Love this. Can't wait. Soo many good episodes
That means justice league will be next after Superman is done
Fingers crossed 🤞
No, next it Batman beyond
@@Reivanhist i agree then justice league
@@Reivanhist ooooh yes please
And hopefully after that, they do batman beyond and my adventures with superman
Thank you...❤
I didn't even realize I fully knew the intro theme even though I haven't seen this show in like 25 years 😂
In DC lore, all of life originated on Earth with the Guardians, a race of small blue people that later create the Green Lantern Corp. That's why there's so many humanoid species in the universe.
Humans can be everywhere. We are humans from earth therefore we are EARTHLINGS. They are humans from krypton therefore they are Kryptonians.
For whatever reason this show gets no recognition it's great
Now, we're talking.
Batman, Superman, Spectacular Spiderman... PEAK COMICBOOK CARTOONS
Btw I'd highly recommend you guys check out My Adventures With Superman its another terrific take on Superman and truly gets Superman, Lois, Jimmy, Supergirl etc all so right and has a unique and creative anime artstyle to it which gives it its own identity, and the voice of Superman in the show is Jack Quaid (aka Hughie from the Boys) and he does and he gives an outstanding performance.
loved smallville. every time it came on the volume on the TV went up " SOMEBODY SAAAAAAAAVE MEEEEE!"
So glad yall are reacting to this 😊
Now after watching my adventures with Superman, i feel like its a better superman show, this show is more like “and then we do superman next”
Yeah, the Superman Animated Series never got an "actual" intro. Just clips from the series.
so glad youre doing this! megmage is the only other reactor ive seen react to this show
The Superman equivalent to Batman The Animated Series. Just as good, but sadly, people don't remember it. Enjoy it, it's the perfect representation of Superman.
kinda wish you posted all 3 parts of Last Son of Krypton together
What Kevin Conroy is for fans of Batman. Tim Daly is that for me as a fan of Superman. His voice is perfect for the Man of Steel.
i love this show. Shout out to Paul Dini for not only this show/Characters but Harley Quinn and so many others. I don't like Brainiac as kryptonian but he made it WORK. Superman theme songs rock!
If he's AI it doesn't really matter where he's from. Colu or Daxam or Mars or Thanagar or Rann, it's not like he would care.
@@Mansplainer2099-jy8ps again not always AI. it works in this show, works better from others like Superboy and the legion, and like Krypton.
@@jacquesmassard9226 Right, he's not always AI but when he is he could be from Luthor's lab, it wouldn't really make a difference.
1:05 Smallville is a must watch when talking about Clark Kent/Superman
the theme songs of the animated Shows are awesome
Tony Jay was also in Lois and Clark the new Adventures of superman.
Wasn't he Lex Luthor's
Butler in that one
Thank you so much for selecting this show please finish this show with all episodes
We are here
We are here
I think human is just him saying biological of a type. Like if they looked like fish or an insect, he’d saying something different.
I can't wait for my favorite episode with the assassin. It's straight up diabolical
I hope when you guys get to the World's Finest Episodes in season 2 you watch all 3 parts together! It aired as one movie, even though it's technically 3 episodes ❤
I didn't air as a movie but it was compiled into one for dvd I believe
Well, since Batman: The Animated Series was such a hit on TV, it only made sense to give the Man of Steel himself his own animated series as well.
Superman's grand daddy is Tony Jay?! Now that's a super power.
Hmmm I'm pretty sure that music they played when Jor-El says good bye is the one that Justice League had for For The Man Who Has Everything episode. Which is kinda nuts that they used the same song when those episode were like, 10 years apart.
Shooter McGavin and Frollo in the first episode, pretty solid casting
Let's go Superman is my favorite character
So excited this won, I love the DC Animated Universe. I hope you guys get to Justice League Unlimited. That is my favorite animated series of all time, those reactions would be awesome!
Can't wait for part 2
DCAU Lex Luthor’s likeness was modelled after the guy who played Blofield in OHMSS.
Probably my favourite design of Mama Kal-El. Alexandra Daddario Dark Hair, and big blue eyes is a very memorable choice. I ONLY remember his mum from the first episode but even as a child to know I always remembered her design.
Loooove this series. The crossover eps are awesome too.
I'm very happy to see this on here bc this show is very underrated. It's the perfect counter-balance to Batman the Animated Series.
Also, if you guys follow this up with Justice League and Justice League Unlimited (please do), this show serves as its prologue.
This is the best part of what Superman represents.
Yes so glad it won
I AM SO HAPPY FOR THIS!
Just for clarification Superman the Movie is not the original Superman movie it's just the most well known by recent generations. There are at least 3 Superman movies preceding it. The original Superman actor Kirk Allyn, who had a cameo in the 1978 movie, starred in 2 movie serials.
George Reeves, most well known for The Adventures of Superman tv show, starred in Superman vs the Mole Men movie
