Don’t blame DICE (although they are incompetent nowadays). Remember, EA were the ones who told us “Don’t like it, don’t buy it” when they pissed off fans with the absurdity of the BFV launch. Then when they pissed off fans with the specialist “hero system” in BF2042 they said in a conference meeting with investors that the fans were stupid and didn’t understand the specialist system. Not only that but they had TH-camrs and Twitch streamers try the game early and give feedback in which they ignored due to their own ego.
Why do you guys continue to support the most evil gaming company to ever exist when they obviously and deliberately show that they do not respect nor care about their fanbase. Stop supporting EA.

They take 2.5 years to get the game into a 4/10 or 5/10 state, then cancel it with no new game anywhere close to coming out. On top of that, they give us a “Today, I’m proud!” (Paik’s voice) press release confirming how pleased they are with the work they’ve done. I’ve got no hope in the next game being remotely decent.

@@theitechlabto be fair, cod has a much larger playerbase and hence revenue driven by WZ and cod’s general appeal to the masses, so it can afford to keep things coming. They collaborate with celebrities and film studios regularly, which is goofy and you have your opinions but you can’t deny the game never really dies until next years instalment.

5:09 Dude this is so strikingly true, its so absurd how pridefully DICE acts about Battlefield and 2042 in specific, like they're this elite top of the world studio churning out industry defining masterpieces, when the reality is so different - all the way since the beginning, they talk about adding basic features like the f***ing scoreboard or class system like they're these avant garde artists and that we should be blown away by their excellence.
Their blog posts and podcast have shown this in great detail - they are incredibly prideful with little basis for such pride, the level designer goes on the podcast elaborating DICE's "incredible" methodology for designing maps, when 2042 has the worst maps in the franchise and some of the worst in gaming in general.
I used to not be such a pessimist, but now I honestly think the next Battlefield bodes even worse than 2042, I think it may genuinely be a franchise killing disaster.
This is the problem with corporate echo chambers is they have 10 to 20 big wigs who sit in a room and jerk each other off over the direction of a franchise that is so obviously destructive to any outside party. It’s killing great franchises like the plague.
BFV was a massive failure, I think we'll all agree. That said, the gameplay was genuinely fun underneath and still is. It kept me coming back despite invisible enemies and crazy hackers.
Had it seen no technical issues, no political controversy over the stupid decision to give goofy skins in a WW2 game, and if it had an anticheat+ "legacy features"... it would've been an excellent game. There's a lot of praise I'd love to give it if it were basically functional.
Success in BFV was totally within view, and they completely failed, in my view, for completely avoidable reasons that essentially were decisions on either DICE or EA's part. Either they pushed a timeline too hard, or they made a bunch of decisions to cut absolutely necessary things. Either is their fault.
2042 comes in, and most of the people who made the parts of BFV I could theoretically praise are gone from DICE. The technical issues are, somehow, massively worse, the gunplay is awful and the maps are far worse. All of the signs we got from EA and DICE before launch were completely meta and would be what you would expect from a studio that learned its lesson.. in other words, the only thing they succeeded with in 2042 is lying before the Beta.
I was super hyped before the Beta. Then I played the Beta, and got a refund immediately, not just for the technical stuff, but mainly the core game's awfulness.
Now, we're seeing the same signs, and WORSE, for the next game. Studios being created, great talent acquired, and... driven off and fired and shut down. The only chance the next battlefield had to be Inspired on any level was Mark Leto. That's dead and gone. They're now doing the same thing as last time, gathering studios to work on a last ditch effort that we know will be chaotic, uninspired, and probably technically faulty.
Battlefield is dead.
They seem proud but this is just their marketing strategy. Make sales department huge and dev department locked in a basement with no connection to real world. It seems to be working because beside a few niche Reddit posts and well.. basically Enders channel - almost every BF psycho fan thinks it’s just how it is. I personally feel offended by this strategy as a long time fan of the title.
Then some TH-camr like jackfrags makes a fuss for likes once in a while but then money from EA creator network kicks in and “all is fine now” 😂

Because talking honestly about the state would require painful change. It's much easier to see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. Won't happen here. A broken game specialist was a dumb idea. Destruction very minimal. Weather affects wow a sand storm and a tornado that does nothing.but let you travel faster around the map. I didn't mind bfv I like it for the class system history behind its vehicle movement and player movement was good. I don't care if it had women characters. They need to make bf4 with bf1 atmosphere and bfv movement. Bring back supply station for ammo for players and vehicles.

I miss when they had just added the Pacific for BFV, and we were optimistic about the next game, generally having fun, and the most DICE game of all time was BFV.
Now, DICE games CONTINUE to get DICEier, 2042 is so off putting I couldn't even get into it, and I go back into BF3, BF4, BFV, BF2142 whenever there's enough players at a good ping randomly because the most recent game doesn't count.
To be perfectly honest, I would've rather had another two years of BFV content and a 64 player game come out roughly now.
As wonky as BF4 was, I to this day miss the feeling the game gave me. CoD started to fall off so I moved onto BF4 and it was one of my favorite video game experiences. Sad to see this happen to Battlefield

thanks for playing this game so i didn’t have to. i definitely recommend making it out to Budapest if you have the chance! beautiful city with lots to see and do. went there myself august 2023 with some buddies and it was a blast, with the thermal baths probably being the highlight for us.

The only reason they are canceling more seasons of battlefield 2042 is to work on the new battlefield title with Motive studio , criterion, and Ripple effect with DICE like as put on their statement they are gonna put out some event here and there and some maintenance but done with official Seasons

Have you tried this? Close the EA background services in the task manager, start the EA app directly, clear its cache and then start the game from the app.
Works every time for me when the game doesn’t start from steam.

These lessons were learned back in 2013 after the BF4 launch debacle.
Idk if I should be happy or sad since the game started having potential but I still think that like removing campaign its just an excuse to deliver less content bc you bet that those skins will still be there.As for the game itself well opposite to popular opinion I think specialist give a bit of variety and some arent different than different loadouts but we all know that macay was a mistake. Imo the worst problem with 2042 is the maps. They are the worst ive seen in p much all of the fps. Only the canada cliff and redacted are decent the rest is p much f tier. Anyways, as soon as the game gets potential they cut support. I dont think that ea knows how to do a good live service with battlefield. You can make ppl buy some 60$ trash but you cannot build a good 60$ live service on trash even with a well known franchise. That gives like 3k players like we saw during most of 2042

Perhaps a farewell server where you and all your followers can play would be ideal. You get to choose the maps and game modes, and so on. If feasible, leave the server running. Then, make sure to drop by occasionally to share your thoughts on the player base, haha.

8th season. Yeah, I said it multiple times - all Dice games are in beta state, Dice Logic is a wicked trademark and all recent Battlefield games have 1,5 years lifespan. I’m sad that I was right yet again.

At this point Idc what they do with 2042. The next BF needs to be good. That’s all. They release such a shitty BF with attempted Santa Claus skin. wtf were they thinking? I mean yeah cool they finally give the game a score board and call it an improvement. The fk? Scoreboard is an improvement? It’s a fking basic necessity for even the simplest of any FPS shooter. Even squad management was non existent.
The devs and marketing people didn’t have BF at heart. They were just thinking how they are going to attract Fortnite, CoD or PubG players and rush the whole process. They wanted to milk the franchise and maximise profits and throw that IP into the bin after that. They did this with command and conquer, what’s stopping them from giving a shit about battlefield?
If anyone wants to argue with me, this is coming from someone who played bf2042 a lot with friends and family. In no way is this game ever better than BF4, not even fkin close. They can take a few of the good innovations in 2042, but overall the game is shit. To even defend EA and Dice is to make the next release worst. Stop defending them for fking up in the first place.
I bought BF2042 hoping it would be a continuation of BF3 and 4, I've never been so disappointed with a game, I legit regretted buying it and even if it is "fixed", it still feels like a major downgrade compared to BF4.

This absolutely true. Dice hasn’t fucking done a thing to fix this game. I loved the Alpha with the suction cup hovercraft(lol), I will admit, I have had a bit more fun playing recently, especially on redacted. However I can only play like 2-5 games with friends and 1 game by myself before I’m just exhausted and I go to play something else like OW or Division or Minecraft. Battlefield 2042 in my opinion was a solid attempt By Dice and EA to make a solid game that had different game based elements that some other large scale pvp fps shooters don’t have. EA probably can’t pull their head out of their ass and produce a solid BF game since Bad Company, I’m hoping that this next game actually has time put into it and makes it fun for every type of Bf player.
I learned my lesson with the release of BF4. I’m 38 and have been a lifelong BF player. BF4 was the last time I bought a BF on release. Nope. Never again. Never even bought 2042 and I’m glad I didn’t.
The crazy thing is that anyone of us could've been given power and it'd turn the franchise around for the better.
