    I've got a few of the BCA uppers, and they work great for what they are, only issue I had was with the side charge 7.62 upper, extractor broke after a couple hundred rounds, but BCA sent me a upgraded extractor next day air for free & they stand behind their products, even reached out to me a few days later to follow up, mad props to them!

    I've found that the quality of the many lower end ARs have gotten much higher, to the point that with some work most can run amazing. Usually you'll need to swap your gas block to an adjustable as that seems to be the most prominent set of issues I've ever encountered. Swap your springs and other fiddly little parts to minimize random wear and tear breakage.

    We are used to getting spectacular accuracy from AR15s but keep in mind that the military standard for the M4 is 4 MOA. If an inexpensive rifle shoots that well or better, I consider that a passing grade. Milspec triggers don't get a lot of respect but again, they are just fine for most purposes and unless they truly suck, I can get along with them just fine. It's good to see a budget rifle that at least initially seems to be perfectly adequate for most purposes. I would definitely like to see a full review.

    • @hkfifty871
      @hkfifty871 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      My thoughts as well. A context that I think often gets overlooked by many guntubers and reviewers (and one I’m glad Chris hit on a bit) is that many people AREN’T shooting thousands of rounds every year, or needing extreme precision or long range accuracy, so for a lot of us some of these budget offerings may serve the purpose just fine.
      Or you may want to dip your toe into a particular type of firearm before you fully leap into it because you aren’t entirely sure what you want or if it’s for you. I myself am often glad I started out with a budget AR “build” (and I’m being generous in calling it a build, Anderson fully assembled lower, Diamondback DB15 fully assembled upper). Because A: I had NO CLUE what furniture would end up feeling right to me, so there wasn’t much point in going for something better/more expensive when I didn’t even have a frame of reference for whether I would like that any better. And B: my AR has ended up being the rifle I shoot the least. So spending an additional $200+ out the gate was never going to change that.
      It’s a fine gun (especially now that I’ve replaced the grip/stock after handling a few more and finding exactly what I myself prefer) but it just turns out that I personally enjoy shooting other rifles more.

We veterans like to make fun of "military-grade" claims but if it really meets military specifications then you at least know something useful about it and it will probably work for its intended purpose for a reasonable length of time. I have this exact rifle and a PSA PA15. Both were right about $430-$460 after tax. I bought them both as complete upper and lowers and popped them together. The BCA had a BCG/CH included, the PSA did not but I got that from them as well.
    I'm not going to lie and tell you "I've shot 2,000 rounds through them" as I've been to the range 3 times with them (fired maybe 5-10x 20/30 round mags each time) and I had only one issue with the BCA; it jammed ONCE. The PSA had ZERO malfunctions.
    I run PMags with Winchester M193 FMJ ammo, regularly service/lube them (after the range or every 6 months, whatever comes first).
    So yeah, I'm super happy with both. The Palmetto State was my first AR ever and I learned a lot with it. I've never owned hyper expensive weapons (my most expensive gun is my Springfield Armory XDm Elite, full size, .45ACP) at about $600 used (I overpayed, don't need you to jump on me about that, I just loved it when i looked at it at the gun shop and had to have it).
    I also run Amazon optics because i dont make a lot of money but they work as well as I need them to. If you zero anything with a barrel sighting lazer, guess what...it will work. Yeah, the high dollar EOTech's and such may work "better", I don't know, don't care.
    Sorry for the essay but I just can't speak highly enough of both PSA and BCA....good stuff!

Added red dot, charging handle, some furniture and a light and probably have ran 3000 rounds through it since the day I bought it. (I’ve shot very very low grade ammo through it it’s entire life) and it absolutely runs. Just as good as the day I bought it, if not better. Only complaint I have is sometimes the mag release doesn’t seat completely but you give it a good hard slap and she’s fine. I’ve have an AR rifle with a BCA 20in stainless barreled slick side upper and an AR9 bufferless pistol that i built the lowers for. So far they’ve been almost flawless. The rifle had a little hiccup that was my fault. It ejected just fine but sometimes wouldn’t pick up the next round. I grabbed a pistol buffer weight from a box of parts by mistake. Put in the right buffer and it’s been perfect ever since. I will definitely buy more from BCA. Can’t beat their prices for in decent rifle on a budget.

    I bought their 20” billet upper with fluted barrel and BCG/CH. it had about a 30 round break in that was rough but since then it’s been excellent and superbly accurate for a sub $300 upper.

    I have a BCA 7.62x39 upper. What a fun weapon to shoot. Accurate too. Only issue I had was a broken extractor and light primer strikes, both of them got fixed with an extended firing pin and a new, more durable extractor.

    I like the realism - Budget AR for people who will use it minimally. Please do the full review, and have your wife put a few down range too. This may help some of us convince our significant others to trust the platform.

    I have not purchased a full BCA rifle, but I own many uppers from them. They are not the most smooth, or best looking uppers, but mine have been reliable and accurate. I purchased one of their 20 inch heavy barreled side chargers. I have shot as small as a .735 inch group with some 77 grain SMKT and Varget powder. Can't wait to see the 1000 round review, I am hoping the rifle holds up, all the while continuing to be accurate.

    I like that lower receiver very simple and slick looking. Ive seen very impressive results from BCA my buddy has a bunch of them. There does seem to be variations in quality though as some people complain about issues. I've seen many in 5.56 shoot close to 1 moa @ 100 yrds.

    Great thing about any AR is most of this stuff is modular. And if you’ve been around guns enough you can tell this is quality enough for most folks looking to get out to the range or even those who just want one. It all can be replaced and made how you want it folks.

    I have a Ruger Ar556. It is reliable and does the job for me. Good to see another AR that looks to be good too. My first time with an AR was the Air Force version before the A1 version came out. I still like it the best. It shot really sweet and the grip angle was the same as that rifle you have and I like it.

    Loved the admission that you're not good enough to shoot 1/2 MOA groups with a non-magnified optic! I love the red dot on my AR-15, but with my 65 year old eyes (even with my prescription glasses), 2" groups at 50 yards is a good day for me. I'd definitely need a magnified optic to maintain good precision at further distances. Love your videos!

    I'd love to see more on this one. These types of firearms are really important to have in the industry, that can put out reliable cheap stuff. Particularly for first time shooters/buyers. The furniture, triggers, and other accessories can aleays be upgraded later down the line. As long as the bones are good, it should be a good time.
    My first real firearm was a Sig Sauer M400 that I bought at Walmart over 10 years ago for $948, that came with a Sig Prism Optic. Since then I've added a BCM charging handle, a SureFire Socom muzzle break, Magpul Grip and stock, a Daniel Defense Lite Rail, an adjustable gas block, and new trigger (first was a Giessle 2-stage DMR Match Trigger, then swtiched to a single stage CMC flat trigger), and a few other small bits. It has been extremely reliable, soft shooting, and a pleasure to run. I've put at least a few thousand rounds, if not more, through it at this point, and it's still going strong. Best thing is it was a relatively cheap introduction to firearms, that started me on my ownership journey.

      I don't know why, but here in Germany an AR-15 costs between €2.000-3.000 _($1.800-2.700)._
      And I'm not talking about imported ones from North America, but they are made in Germany! It doesn't matter by which weapon manufacturer. I just checked it up and the cheapest one was made by Hera Arms, from Bavarian, costing €1.979.
      And then I read that in the US, not long ago, you could get an AR-15 for only $399 at the supermarket.
      Well, here you can only buy guns at the gun shop or online, but I'll think you don't pay less than 2-3 thousand bucks for an AR-15 at the gun shop either. There it's usually even more expensive.
      Just ordering from the US doesn't work. It's so much paperwork and legal stuff that online vendors normally don't ship guns to Europe/ Germany.
      I'm really jealous of you guys!

    • @BigBear--
      @BigBear-- 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@yannick245We have AR in the $3000+ range, sure. But those are the super Gucci type rifles. Most top quality AR's land in the $1000-2000 range. Though again you can get very high quality rifles now even in the $500-1000, they just won't come with any additional goodies, and will mostly have cheap mil-spec accessories. Which is finez cause you can get one of those, then add-on all the accessories yourself. As long as the reciever, barrel, and lower are quality made, the rest of the parts can all be changed out.
      Really this is a matter of culture and politics. I can almost guarantee you that the reason AR's cost so much where you are is because of oppressing licensing and tax regulations, that force the prices up like crazy. Freedom is not a main value anywhere in Europe, including Germany...especially not on the left.

    • @yannick245
      @yannick245 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BigBear-- I think it's a question of what you understand/the definition of freedom.
      For example you don't have the freedom of going to college/get higher education, if your parents can't afford it, or you start your adult life with being in debt for sometimes decades _(like many doctors in the US)._
      But let's not get political on a clip about affordable rifles.
      I assume that the _"made in Germany"_ AR's are of high quality. The ones I checked out are manufactured by pretty small gun manufacturers. Like for most professions in Germany, you'll have to absolve a three year long vocational training, to gain a degree. In this case as a s.c. _"Büchsenmacher",_ meaning gunsmith.
      So if you get a firearm from such a small _(often family run)_ manufacturer, you can be sure that it's quality craftsmanship.
      I just pity that we don't even have the option of getting such "cheap"/low priced AR's. Just for fun!
      When I did my six months in the military, in 2009 _(not voluntarily. We had conscription/draft until 2011),_ I got to shoot full-auto with an HK G36. That's a nice rifle I'd like to have. But not in the eyes of the Bundeswehr _(our military)!_ It's going to be replaced by the HK416 A8, as the future standard issued service rifle.

    • @BigBear--

      No idea what you're on about. You can absolutely get a free education in the states. Or at the very least an extremely cheap education. That's not an issue. It's the left here that's responsible for the increased costs and additional loans necessary if you want to go to private college, without a scholarship. The left is the same around the world...just in our case our country wasn't founded by them...which still provides certain protections from them. Though they're doing their best to try and destroy that. Like those morons Biden, Pelosi, AOC, and the rest of the zombie nation.
      We have the same "gunsmith" programs here. There are gunsmith schools, and apprenticeships you can go for. It just doesn't require government oversight. If you want to open a shop, or a business in firearms, no need to prove anything besides that you're not a criminal. Otherwise it's just like any other business.
      I also find it hilarious that you think your education is "free". Nothing is free. Someone always pays. Except when you have a system of heavy taxation to pay for others to go to school for free, and the government manages those funds, the amount of waste and corruption is ten fold, and the quality of the service is overall much lower.
