PSA took me from owning just a 10-22 and a LCPII, to having at least one gun in every category. Their price to performance ratio is unmatched. Be careful though, PSA is a slippery slope. Before you know it, your local FFL is preemptively ordering the PSA daily deals because he already knows you’re looking for that upper in every color.
@iandeschene6263 I did a blem Sabre lower with a Geissele trigger for $350 and a 13.7 Sabre upper for my GF first rifle. If you have the budget I would recommend that route. If not I did a Moe railed upper and basic lower for closer to a total of $400 for a spare range toy.
Be very leery of PSA and their machine shop guns ! I bought one of the optics ready Dagger models & from the first shot the gun was ejecting shells straight into my face . Took forever to reach a human at PSA. They finally took gun for inspection & immediately shipped it right back, saying, that gun has known ejector/extractor issues & they do not stock the part in question & will not be of any assistance in fixing it. They said(this is all in writing shipped back with the gun) I could buy the needed part aftermarket & good riddance ! Every word of this is true & can be verified by my local gun shop whom tried to help after shooting the gun & presently has the gun now !
I love how the P-07 makes the list every time, Iv had one for over 4 years and I love it, carried it for most of the 4 years and now Iv built mine out to run USPSA matches, I actually have a tiny TH-cam channel showing it and some other stuff I do 😅 if anyone is interested in seeing a P-07 ran slowly in a USPSA match. I am 1:50 into this video and props to you for recognizing Glock as a leader in handguns. There are a lot of platforms who criticize Glock. It was my every day carry for years and with quality ammo NEVER failed. It ran dirty or clean. They are a fantastic firearms manufacturer.
I liken them to buying a Toyota. They just work. There are newer 'better' models/manufacturers which are better in some ways and worse in others. I have never had the Gen2 Model 17 i bought in 1995 fail to go bang. (other than ammo related failure, like no powder, etc) I can't count the number of rounds fired in IPSC practise and matches in the last 29 years.
Theyre...not the leader in handguns.... It's bottom of the list for a reason. There are many many many glocks that are sold for less than $500. Only one on the list. Only a Glock super fan boy would reply with this comment. 😂 He rated a Canik above the Glock. But since it was first. Must be the best right?
@ryanguldbrandsen7672 It was my first gun and remains my only Glock. I've got tons of rounds through it and it has proven a very reliable platform. There is a reason US law enforcement agencies nationwide chose the Glock. It's a simple, easy to clean, reliable firearm. But I completely understand the ignorance of a Glock hater. You be you, sir.
@@rcampbell4967 I own a Glock 19 and a 43x. They are 100% stock. They're ok. The CZ P-10C and the P-10S I have are better overall shooters and are cheaper. My Sig p365 macro is better than both S and 43x. My M&P 2.0 is better than the C and the 19. The solitary thing I like more about the 19 and 43, is that the mags are very very very inexpensive and easy to find. You can buy 10-12 Glock mags for the price of 4 CZ, M&P or Sig mags I don't by aftermarket products for pistols unless I don't have any other options. So, I'm sure I could improve the glocks to maybe be as good as the others. But then I could upgrade the others to be even better. Parts upgrades is not a rabbit hole I want to find myself in. I've had failures to feed in all of them besides the P-10S. So, while I will never scoff at someone buying a Glock. This isn't 2010 or 2000. There are better pistols. Just as reliable and do everything better than Glocks for the same price or cheaper.
You nailed it when you said the 590 is the best shotgun. I have one that most people have never heard of in the 590DA1. Double action only. Trust me, it’s amazing.
I made a mistake and bought the 590A1. Love it too much and now I don't want to defend my home with it lol(they'll take it whether I'm right or wrong in a home defense shooting). So now I'm telling myself get the 88 mav for home defense and the 590 for everything else
@@geekofsteal The 88 is literally a 500 with plastic furniture, pinned pump, and crossbolt safety. It's no more likely to fail than any other 500 family model (which includes the 590).

My FPC survived a house fire. My safe looked like it had been blowtorched on the inside. I thought I had lost everything in it. Nope, several steel guns and the FPC survived.
Can you guarantee that the heat treatment of the metals wasn't compromised? Just something to be aware of, don't want you losing any fingers or an eye.
@@Blobertbigly Well, the plastic furniture didn’t melt off of it like two of my Glocks did. The round seats in a steel chamber. The bolt is also steel as are the springs. After checking all of that, my friend wanted to shoot it first. We are both still alive and unharmed. Yes, of course I thought of that for every gun I thought was ok. The AR’s aluminum frame was what I was worried about the most. They didn’t melt, and after lots of cleaning they went bang as well.
I knew the Shield Plus would be number 1 before I even started watching the video 😅😅. I'm a big fan of the Smith and Wesson line, especially the 2.0 Compact, which is my favourite.
Respect to you for showing Mrs Outlaw shooting the guns left-handed. It shows us where the brass is going and what can be used by us who are left-eye dominant. Respect also that she's obviously a well practiced shooter rather than just eye candy. Thank you for the great content.
Cajun gun works sells a spring kit with harder hammer strike pin for about $50. The pin helps for dry fire and longer wear ability. Takes it to a whole new level of accuracy. I love P07.
I love the MVP. I have the 7.62 x 51 and have zero issues with it. It uses AR-10 style magazines though for that cartridge. I shoot 168 gr. Accubond LR's at 2540 fps for a good 300 yard deer rifle. The subsonic version I make is the 175 Gr. Hornady Sub-X and it's popping out at 1080 fps. Works great with my .46 Hybrid SilencerCO suppressor.
Mossberg 500/590 definitely my favorite. Got my first 500 at 15 years old and that was 40 years ago. That being said, I would caution anyone getting the pistol grip version stock. They suck!! We bought about 40 of them without t&e and it was and is a shit show. Being left handed I can at least still hit the slide release, my right handed coworkers don’t have that luxury. You can’t operate that ambidextrous safety I love so well without changing your grip. I made a comment to our former Sheriff about it and he said it was a training issue. I have taught shotgun classes, it wasn’t a training issue it was a design issue. That being said mine will soon be rocking a normal stick and the ergonomics will be back the way I love them. Thanks for the videos, always great!!
I could not agree with you more. I got my first Mossberg 500 as an early Christmas present when I was 12. I got it early because deer season here in Mi falls in November. It has taken a lot of game over the last 40+ years and I keep it accessible for home defense. I shot a friend's 590 with the pistol grip and ran into the same problem. I am a righty and had the same issues you mentioned. I think I will keep my old 500, with the slide release and safety that I know and love. I agree that it is a design flaw/issue. In a life or death situation, something like that could get you dead.
If you look in the right place, you can also find the Springfield Hellcat for under $500. Both myself and my father own one, and they have been nothing but flawless. Accurate, durable, and reliable out of the box. One of the few guns that I'd argue doesn't need a break in. Fantastic little carry gun that, with the flush magazine, carries more than the 43X, 365, or Shield Plus
Dude. You are such a great source of information. The CZ P10C was my first handgun, mostly based on your recommendation. I picked an Extar EP9, again, mostly based on your recommendation, and I actually enjoy shooting it more than my CZ Scorpion. It has earned its place as my bedside gun. You have also put the P-07 and the Mossberg 590 at the top of my “interested” list. Thank you. 👍
Love my p-07. Sold all my glocks and bought a p-10c also after getting my p-07. I am now a huge CZ fanboy and now own many CZ guns from pistols to rifles.
Couple years ago wanted a p365, then watched more of videos and decided on a p07, then ended up buying a p10s, thennnn a p09 lol and some others , I do now have the p365 too lol

Honestly for the AR I'd say you'd be much happier saving up for the IWI Zion-15. That extra $400 makes it just so much more worth it compared to most of the other guns on the list that don't have as massive of upgrades for a slightly more expensive version.
That’s exactly what I did. Got the Radical. Upon receiving it, it had a Mil spec butt stock and commercial tube. Sent it back and got IWI Zion. Been reliable and love it!!
My shield plus 13 round mags have all fit 13 +1 no problem. I use a speed loader to break them in, but they run great. The 10 and 15s also run perfectly. Love that pistol.
Couldn't agree more about the Canik. Own several highly valued Sigs like early 226 and 220 and high end HK. Have same model of Canik...tried to get a malfunction with odd ammo...handles everything, no problems...best pistol out of the box including the ones I mentioned...no break in period at all...reliable and accurate out of the box.
I love to see this type of content. I think someone with your experience across the entire industry price/quality spectrum giving your opinion on this subject is important. Everyone should be able to defend themselves reliably regardless of how much they can afford.
Shocked BCA beat out PSA on your list. Hundreds of thousands of people have them; they have the best warranty period, mission statement is amazing, and people have continually abused them here on YT using FA lowers and suppressors and they always punch above their weight. And yes, you can always get the base model for under 500$ and the nicer sabres for more.
He didn't put in a Dagger either which is a great gun for $300. He didn't put a CZ P10C in and that's a great gun for $350. He was slipping on this list.
Good observations, I do love my bca and it can put two rounds into the same hole at 100 yards. The dagger is a good choice for ultra budget 9, and the p10, I love. P10s is imo the best value polymer framed striker fired handgun, with exceptional quality.
I have 2 bca complete uppers and the 16” runs flawlessly without any lube or cleaning (doing it on purpose) I’m now over 1000 rounds with it, with no issues and the 10.5 I’ve not shot yet but I’m expecting similar results. as of my posting of this comment, you can buy a complete rifle, the BCA bc15 16” 1:7 twist for $364.04.. Not being sarcastic, but can you buy a complete PSA rifle for that price? If you can that’s new-news to me. I know BCA is just as good as PSA. If I get 1k rounds through my pistol upper with no lube or cleaning they will have a sworn customer for life out of me forsure and I’ll probably order about 10 more 🤷🏻♂️

I shot the 365 macro, and I didn't like it. Then I shot the Prodigy, and I didn't care for it either. My M&P 2.0 with the overwatch precision trigger and Ed Brown threaded barrel blows them out of the water. But that's just my experience and opinion.
That's a completely different class of firearm. The 365 is a super thin concealed carry firearm while the MP 2.0 is a true duty gun. Not saying the 2.0 isn't better than a P320(what would be in its class) because I believe it is but your comparison is apples to oranges. The Prodigy to P365 is like apples to watermelons.
@@melissasmess2773 I bought 4 of them. One worked reliably 80% of the time. The other 3 are in the trash. I’d rather throw them away than pay for shipping and restocking fees on a faulty product. My p365 spectre comp coyote was my first sig and I absolutely love it. I have to say the xray sights are incredible the way they light up, it also definitely has use for people like me that don’t wanna rock a light and give away position but still be able to aim in the dark towards where they are coming from.
It’s the same thing the gun world itself suffers from. The gun industry doesn’t move as fast as social media does, so you either get info that’s repeated to death or tons of releases with small iterations that only have marginal differences.

Which ar15 did you go with from psa? Really considering them or radical for my first
@iandeschene6263 I did a blem Sabre lower with a Geissele trigger for $350 and a 13.7 Sabre upper for my GF first rifle. If you have the budget I would recommend that route. If not I did a Moe railed upper and basic lower for closer to a total of $400 for a spare range toy.
Love my PSA Dagger- worked better then my Glock 48
Awesome video!!!
I have a p01, how's it compare? I'm really particular and like metal frames, but the p07 has my eye...
@@Blobertbigly it’s obviously lighter, little bit fatter too, but kinda the nature of polymer frame guns, trigger isn’t quite as smooth, but for the price point it’s a solid buy, get it and the cajun gun works trigger job and I’d take that over any polymer frame gun, I do understand the love of full metal frames though, actually my next buy will be a shadow 2
He rated a Canik above the Glock.
You can buy 10-12 Glock mags for the price of 4 CZ, M&P or Sig mags
I don't by aftermarket products for pistols unless I don't have any other options.

I have a Radical Firearms AR15. Love it. Very reliable. It is the CA version, but I’ve put about 500 rounds through it without any issues. $500 in CA.
Picked one up myself about a year ago and I love it.
🤣
My FPC survived a house fire. My safe looked like it had been blowtorched on the inside. I thought I had lost everything in it.
Nope, several steel guns and the FPC survived.
Way to level up the torture test.
(Sorry about your house. I hope everyone is okay)
@@Blobertbigly Yes, that was my first concern.
I love my P-07. It's my suppressor host and it's never failed.
Same here, the suppressor ready p07 is my second one & has had zero issues suppressed & unsuppressed. Love them!
Got my CZ P07 2 weeks ago, love it so far.

You have also put the P-07 and the Mossberg 590 at the top of my “interested” list. Thank you. 👍
The mossberg maverick is another great way to go if you're dipping your toe. Home defense and clay/bird barrel for under 250

Good list! I have several 9mms but my S&W Shield (the original version) shoots great and carries well. I also love my P-07.
Just build your own. Can be done for under a grand and if you know what you're doing, one can have a very reliable and durable AR.
I hate bugs too, and I owe it to you for getting me into the P-07! It’s my favorite gun I own.

If I get 1k rounds through my pistol upper with no lube or cleaning they will have a sworn customer for life out of me forsure and I’ll probably order about 10 more 🤷🏻♂️
@@vr6g608 BCA is way better than that $400 AR they tested. Where can you get a complete BCA rifle under $400? Not being sarcastic. I want to buy at least 1.
@@vr6g608 just realized BCA and not BCM. BCA rifles are a crapshoot. Some you get are fine and others you will have to send back more than once. That's a completely different class of firearm. The 365 is a super thin concealed carry firearm while the MP 2.0 is a true duty gun.
