So from my heavy use of this platform, Ive landed on the B5 systems grip. It does one thing that no other grip Ive used does, and that is that the height of the beaver tail brings the hand down so that your trigger finger is in a straight line to the trigger when web of your hand is choked all the way into it. Combine the grip angle, aggressive texturing and price, I dont think there is better grip. For context, I wear a size large glove and I like to run my stock as collapsed as possible, which necessitates the steep grip angle. For usually 20 bucks or less, I dont think it can be beat IMO
@@atkshow2111 I have tried the Kung Fu and I'm a convert lol. I didn't realize it was the same price as b5 and yeah the more vertical is fantastic. Safety manipulation is even better than the b5 with steeper angle as well.

But I have ES Pebbles on my home defense and truck guns(both 300blk Virtus on Radian Adac lowers) They feel like polar opposites but feel really good in their respective roles.
I like aggressive beavertails that absolutely do not allow my hand to just wander upwards closer to the receiver. Also, using a short throw safety that lets you keep your hand on the grip to use it such as the radian talon makes grips with hardi-ish edges unpleasant. Odd thing to notice going from my bcm mod 2 with the thickest beavertail to the K2 only to find the MOE was actually more comfortable than the K2 and SL.

The only grip review I have liked so far. I’m having trouble deciding between the sig precision and the precision vertical crossover by MK machining. What would you recommend for a precision build SR25?
The BCM MOD 0 and MOD 1 appear to be the same, except the MOD 0 has no beaver tail. I have the BCM MOD 1 on several weapons and prefer that in combination with the BCM short angled foregrip to keep the stock pulled into the shoulder pocket. I have a Magpull MOE on an AP M4E1 rifle with a Laws Folder, which adds about 2" to the the length of pull. Seems fine, so apparently, the length of pull and forearm length affect wrist angle comfort. FWIW i wear a size large glove and have longish' fingers. I prefer floves when shooting
@CoryIsMyName IMO, wrist positioning for pistol does not translate well to rifle. With pistol, your dominant arm is extended away from your body, it's much lighter so fatigue isn't much of an issue and that steep angle, such as on a Glock, is meant to help combat the recoil of the slide and muzzle flip, which is not an issue for the dominant hand on a rifle. The grip on a rifle is much closer to the body and the rifle is obviously heavier so fatigue in the wrist can quickly become an issue. With a more vertical grip on the rifle you're relying less on wrist strength and sharing the weight with the forearm, bicep and a little of the anterior deltoid.
@@archangelconcepts5508 I'm not talking about fatigue, I'm talking about stability. At least for me, fatigue in rifle shooting is more an issue for my support hand. Your wrist is not strongest when it is straight; you're confusing shooting with boxing, which doesn't translate well to rifle shooting. That is more to keep the direction of force parallel to your hand/wrist/arm bones to reduce injury and allow for a more elastic collision. When your wrist is bent forward like we're taught with pistol shooting, the muscles in the forearm are fully contracted, which allows them exert the maximum amount of force to keep your wrist in that position. When your muscles are exerting the most force is when the joint in question is most resistant to movement, or "stable." The funny thing is that this is barely anything more than a stupid semantic argument. My personal belief is that the grip angle of an AR grip is more about comfort than fatigue or stability. If I'm properly driving the rifle into the pocket, that is where most of the weight is being supported, because I'm pulling it against my body with my support hand rather than holding it up with my firing hand.
So, the MKM grip you tried is the ULCG. They also make a VCG that doesnt have the same indent on the thumb web for prone precision platforms, also its longer.
Imo, if the magpul k2+ grip had finger grooves id buy a pallet of them. Im one of the few guys that likes finger grooves, so i use an ergo rubber overmold grip with the grooves.
Ironically I felt the same way until I bought my first full DD. Switched to Magpul K2+ with a Geissele Ultra precision trigger guard. Prob my favorite.
What would you guys say is the most similar to the Sig Grip? I had one that came with my Snakebite SE and loved it. My only complaint is that it was not long enough as I have pretty meaty palms. I am looking for something that is extremely similar to the Sigs ergonomics yet just a bit longer.
So your Sig grip that came on your Snakebite should be the smaller Sig grip I covered. I would say the most similar feeling but long is the other Sig grip, www.sigsauer.com/cross-prs-weighted-grip.html
Hogue overmolds for me, ive tried lots of other styles and nothing feels as good as the hogue to me. Only other grips i have are ergos fat grips on precision builds.
Man...I fell victim to the Die Free Co hype. I got one for my 10.5" LWRC and it's definitely too short for my meaty mitts. I wear a L/XL glove and feel like too much of my palm hangs off of the bottom. If there were ANY grip on the back of it that might help me out. But, not all is lost. It will probably work well on my 8" AR9 that only sees occasional range use.
I only like straight up and down grips on a precision rifle… the angle of the grip helps you to maneuver the muzzle more easily because you’re angled to the muzzle not the trigger is the point
I have to respectfully disagree. Your muzzle has nothing to do with your pistol grip but your support hand drives and controls the muzzle. I'm a firm believer that the pistol grip should place your trigger finger at the correct angle to pull the trigger which is straight back, not at an upward angle.
I actually just installed one for a friend about 3 days ago....not bad but for some reason the width tapers down and gets really thin towards the bottom, like really thin.
@@archangelconcepts5508 thanks for the info..hard for anything to beat out the DieFreeCo grip me anyway. I have a few of the early runs that Ivan over at Kit Badger was selling. I've seen these and they are extremely similar to the Magpul K2...so much so I didn't bother trying it bc the shape and grip angle is almost exactly the same.
The rifles with the circular handguards are made by what company? And if it's a complete rifle,I'd like to know that information as well. Appreciate it.
The original design isn't for pression shooting, it's for combat fighting where you're most often shooting from the hip so to speak. With the stock not on your shoulder, running, crouching or prone.
@@archangelconcepts5508 thanks! Any additional comments regarding Juliet 5 vs G45? Trying to decide between the two. Particularly curious about eye box and eye relief for the two
@EzraLopezUSPSA G45 is definitely a bigger diameter lense so you do feel like the FOV is bigger but I'm not entirely sure if that's accurate or not. Eye relief is nearly identical.
@@archangelconcepts5508 with how the Juliet is set up on your duty rifle with the FTC mounted all the way to the rear, do you still have to move your head forward for an appropriate sight picture or is it largely the same head position when shooting dot only?
@EzraLopezUSPSA I do still have to move my head slightly forward but it's not enough to be uncomfortable amd don't have to change where the buttstock is positioned on my shoulder so that stays the same.
The problem with the A2 isn't the grip angle. Its the design/shape. Take that grip angle, make the grip thicker and contoured, with a beavertail and aggressive texture. Suddenly the angle doesn't matter. Dont believe me? Try an A-Peg from LaRue Tactical. Everybody wants a straight grip till they load their AR to 9lbs with shit all over the front, then they realize the leverage to keep the nose up is shit. Your firing hand isnt meant to support the gun. Its meant to pull trigger. As soon as you lose your support hand (to a reload or even injury) and you try to keep the gun up, you'll wish you had a more angled grip. Trust me
You have 90 grips because you just didn't get an ergo! Ever since I tried a couple I will never go with anything else I have an ergo precision 0° and a tactical suregrip and they are far superior than any other out..
Incorrect, your wrist it’s at it’s strongest at a slight bend downward, the grip angle on an AR was never a problem until long foot patrols during the GWOT while carrying a rifle at a low ready. Asked any boxer or MMA fighter about punching with a straight wrist!!! The A2 angle causes extreme fatigue to the wrist, after extended periods of time, therefore everyone clamored and got the “k” type angles on grips, absolutely nothing wrong with the A2 angle unless ur walking 12hrs with 80lbs of crap in 130 degree heat…..
So long ass story short. Buy the Kung fu grip and stipple it. I personally use bcm parts on all mine but the undercut and grip angle of the die free is intriguing
Right! Obviously this is a very subjective review. However, I'm of the belief that while hand size can vary drastically, the way a human hand forms around something to grip is basically the same so, though admittedly subjective to my personal opinions and hand, hopefully people find this review useful in making their own decisions and not have to spend a crap ton of money finding what's best for them.

If it's going to be strictly a precision rifle, I'd go with the MK Machining/Driven Arms VCG-1.
Yes, length of pull and forearm length definitely will affect wrist angle comfort. Grip angle is just an additional factor in the comfort equation.
Your wrist is actually very stable when locked forward like that. That's why we learn to do it with our support hand when shooting pistols.
When your muscles are exerting the most force is when the joint in question is most resistant to movement, or "stable."
The funny thing is that this is barely anything more than a stupid semantic argument.
No, it is actually the VCG (Vertical Crossover Grip) with the 5 degree grip angle. I was wrong when I said it was 10 degrees.
Gotta collect them all!
B5 22 or 23 for med to large good angle, little thinner than k grip, aggressive texture
Try the Thrill grip, if you like the Sig I think you will dig it. I went down this rabbit hole as well, I also did it with charging handles, LOL
The Thril kinda looks like BCM and Reptilia had a baby. Can't say I'll try it through, grip angle is 19.5 degrees, definitely not steep enough for me!
try out the Cobalt Kinetics Pro Grip or Pro Grip XL. possibly the Edgar Sherman Designs grips
The Cobalt looks super interesting to me
Imo, if the magpul k2+ grip had finger grooves id buy a pallet of them. Im one of the few guys that likes finger grooves, so i use an ergo rubber overmold grip with the grooves.
Daniel defense makes the perfect grip for the AR imo. It's a natural enough angle and it's extremely comfortable for my smallish hands.
Interesting. I have what people would call large hands and i find the DD grip to be perfect for me as well
AGREED! My favorite feeling grip on my ar...💯💯💯
Well I have ape hands so I'll avoid those.
Ironically I felt the same way until I bought my first full DD. Switched to Magpul K2+ with a Geissele Ultra precision trigger guard. Prob my favorite.
Hated the one I tried but ergonomics are highly personal
What would you guys say is the most similar to the Sig Grip? I had one that came with my Snakebite SE and loved it. My only complaint is that it was not long enough as I have pretty meaty palms. I am looking for something that is extremely similar to the Sigs ergonomics yet just a bit longer.
So your Sig grip that came on your Snakebite should be the smaller Sig grip I covered. I would say the most similar feeling but long is the other Sig grip, www.sigsauer.com/cross-prs-weighted-grip.html
What’s the mount for 512? 11:54
@@koostory1776 Unity FAST Optic Riser
The MKM seems like it might be better on a bolt action setup.
Yes it's definitely for a precision set up
Hogue overmolds for me, ive tried lots of other styles and nothing feels as good as the hogue to me.
Ya it's definitely not made for big mits. The Driven Arms grip is though!
You should check out the Irregular defense special k grip
I only like straight up and down grips on a precision rifle… the angle of the grip helps you to maneuver the muzzle more easily because you’re angled to the muzzle not the trigger is the point
I have to respectfully disagree. Your muzzle has nothing to do with your pistol grip but your support hand drives and controls the muzzle. I'm a firm believer that the pistol grip should place your trigger finger at the correct angle to pull the trigger which is straight back, not at an upward angle.
Try the mkm grip with gloves I wonder if it helps that secondary angle
I thought the same thing but doesn't do much.
For some reason you speaking is normal at 1.75x. Even 2x.
Did you slow it down when recording?
Backstrap? You mean beavertail?
@@DisgustedGenXr something must be weird with your playback speed setting or connection bc there's nothing wrong with the normal speed of the video.
@@DisgustedGenXr yes, beavertail.
You should check out the new Edgar Sherman Design Granite grip. Looks similar to the Sig and available in 3 different grip textures.
I believe they were originally called the Stoner Grip. It was basically the same but had removable grip tape panels rather than the texture thats on the new KungFu....and was alot more expensive lol
Pretty sure that particular MKM grip is for precision rifle setups but they have others for SBRs etc
Yes, precision is what it's designed for but I loved the esthetics of it so much I had to try it
What handstop is that @ 15:00?
Strike Industries LINK

Check out the Tactical Link PDW Grip, similar to a K-2, w/ a 14 degree angle and Thril RTG w/ a 19.5 degree angle.
I'm not sure which handguards you're referring to bc they're all pretty circular
The rifles in the thumbnail for this video.
@@raggedyred21@raggedyred21 top one is a 10.5" POF Renegade +, bottom one is a 14.5" Centurion Arms upper on an AAC lower.

Tangodown BG18 is worth a try!!
I've heard good things about it!
what is a sig precision grip? Cant find it anywhere, same as sig mcx m400?
@mjsoltis not the same as the M400 or MCX, it's a reduced angle and weighted (the weight is removable). www.sigsauer.com/cross-prs-weighted-grip.html
DFCO Kung fu grip is awesome, it would be dope if someone could manufacture the exact same grip in 6 series or 7 series aluminum
What handguard is that @10:50
That's the Sig M400 Pro handguard...not sure they offer it as an after market option but I absolutely love it
The DieFreeCo is similar to what Kit badger had? Or it is the same?
I think it might be but I'm not positive
Got my DFCO kung fu grips on my sbrs and my apc9k pro
It has grown on me the more I use it....except for the stippling...gonna have that re-stippled.
Best
The original design isn't for pression shooting, it's for combat fighting where you're most often shooting from the hip so to speak.
With the stock not on your shoulder, running, crouching or prone.
@@viccolicci3878 that more extreme angle of Stoner's grip design would definitely make more sense for lower hip shooting
What's your truck gun?
It's the 10.5" POF with the DFCO Kung Fu grip
What magnifier is on your duty rifle?
It's a Sig Juliet5-Micro...crystal clear and very good magnification. I'd say it's a tad better than my Eotech G45.
Driven Arms Co makes the same thing as the MKM but without the extra shoulder.
MKM manufacturers it for Driven Arms and is exactly the same grip, shape, texture options, etc.
Besides unless you’re wearing heavy body armor who shoots an AR fully collapsed???
So long ass story short. Buy the Kung fu grip and stipple it. I personally use bcm parts on all mine but the undercut and grip angle of the die free is intriguing
I really love the angle and undercut of the Kung Fu grip and am going to stipple it to keep on my 10.5" truck gun.
Stil don't get why nobody puts ANY effort into making their grips actually feel good and of quality materials for the aftermarket.
Bring on the hate but I like the A2 grip.
Haha, no hate here, but be careful...your age is showing!
The A2 grip reminds me of a Glock.
I'd say even worse than a Glock grip!
Strike industries makes my favorite over molded grip. I learned about a couple new purchases I'm going to make after watching this video though!
We Learn at 5 years old.... NOTHING IS PERFECT!!!!!!! you gotta find what your GRIP Likes BEST
