    In the USA we call wild camping Boondocking. I have just found your channel. I am enjoying it very much.

    • @LifeistooshortCK
      @LifeistooshortCK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Over here its mainly called wild camping much to the annoyance of those who actually wild camp i.e. sleeping in a bivvy bag in some remote spot. There are attempts to rename it free camping but I don’t like that. There is nothing free about it as the vehicle costs a fortune and we need fuel like everyone else. 😁👍

    Ken and Carol, thank you for opening our eyes to parts of the country that we would otherwise have missed. You have a good eye through the lens for the small details that might seem mundane to the rest of us. As well as being highly informative videos about van life, history and places, they are also a window into the world of you as a couple, which is especially charming. Thank you as ever.

      Thank you Andrew. We try and give an honest account of places we visit and what it is like travelling in a small van. Your comment is much appreciated ☺️

    Lovely channel, only just come across it and now binge watching your back catalogue! You should try a ‘wonderbag’ as a slow cooker. It is an eco, non electric, charity produced slow cooker. I have been using one in the van for a few years and haven’t looked back. It is secure enough to leave your food cooking whilst you drive around and means you can get all of your prep done first thing in the morning. Also a really worthwhile cause! Keep up the good work, there are not enough genuinely interesting, wholesome channels out there!

    I don't know why are you surprised?! The King of the Dandies must have had mysterious pockets, maybe key teleportation was part of the deal too! :D Lovely video, can not express how glad I am you guys are back in the Little Red Camper! Aye! :D So seems like you are mask-free now outdoors, on the streets too! How good that must be! :D Our government wants us to stay masked the whole year...supposed to end 23rd of May, to let summer be free like last year (which I highly recommend because as I experience it everywhere, people are losing it - sanity). Sorry for the long run with this comment. Capt.

    • @LifeistooshortCK

      We have always been allowed to be mask free outdoors in England and only have to wear them inside public places. Hope you can be mask free for the summer so you can enjoy the freedom of the high seas in all its glory ⛵️🌞😎

    Great little video. Would love to get a camper but worry where you would use the toilet on wild camping

    • @LifeistooshortCK
      @LifeistooshortCK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are not alone in having that worry but the truth is its a tiny part of the campervan experience. In such a small van you have to be comfortable using pee bottles and as for number twos the need for that in the van is very rare as you make sure you go any chance you get in public loos whilst you are out and about. 😁

    Posted this on your Instagram but might be of use for others - Hi just looking at your Lincolnshire videos, you mentioned flies and that you like to keep windows down, we have just brought some magnetic strips and fly nets and we cut to size just bigger than windows and put a small piece of magnetic strip in the four corners, this attaches to van on the outside and allows us to keep windows down, obviously only when parked up. It did not stick great to netting so I put a bit both sides to make like a sandwich. Might help you for park ups near water and indeed anywhere where you don’t want flies in.

    • @LifeistooshortCK
      @LifeistooshortCK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi hi Paul, thanks so much for reposting this here as we are great believers in sharing information as widely as possible. So many good people have shared tips with us and we really appreciate it. I think your suggestion for the fly screens is an excellent one. We have the material but we need to make a better job of it I think.

    That was very nice and very interesting love hearing any history and Carol seems to love it , it was a shame that the castle was taken down I guess they used all the stone for building in and around the area. I saw that you gave up on the coffee bags try to locate a Philippine store as I am sure you will enjoy the 3 in 1 coffee and there is quite a selection of them. Have a great weekend look forward to the next video. Take care stay safe .

    Such fond memories of the region back in the 80's when assigned to RAF Chicksands in Bedfordshire. Hopefully you will travel there in the future (Clophill. Meppershall, and Shefford) to see those delightful villages. England doesn't change...only we become older! We also are traveling now here in Indiana as you do the same in England. I hope your doctor's trip went well - visually it seems you are back in the pink. I have a bit of heel problem from all my covid walking trips that I hope my doctor will cure for me. I must admit that I am not much of a "visit the doctor" type person per se. If it hasn't fallen off, then let's push on! I always find it interesting to see the differences between your local towns etc and life here in my neck of the woods in the USA. Best to you and Carol - cheers!

      Dr visit went well. She diagnosed Rosacea as my problem. That’s fine by me, I just wanted to rule out anything more serious. Big difference in the US of course is that medical treatment seems to cost a lot more over there. Ours costs the same of course except they take the money a different way. 👍

    Funnily enough we lost one of our van keys too (we’ve only had the van for three weeks 🙈) and after a couple of days we were starting to really worry. I found it this morning in the van sink 😂 Somebody must’ve put it there during our trip out to have a play with the van - the six-year-old denies all knowledge but we’re not convinced....🤔 Also I love your new cloth-drying trick - was just wondering about that so thank you 👍🏻

    Hi both, I don't know that neck of the woods very well but after see this episode it's on my list for future jaunts, it looks quite tranquil and beautiful. My two brothers in law live in Lincolnshire and Suffolk so I've got really covered the bit inbetween. Did you manage to track down any fill it yourself Coffee/Tea bags. It would be interesting to see if your favourite grind tastes as good brewed that way as in your Aeropress. Keep well and keep travelling safely.

      Cauliflower should be white, that looked creamy yellow to me. What is generally called broccoli these days is actually more properly Callabrese. You could however refer to all of them a broccoli or even call them Brassica. Personally the only one I dislike is the Callabrese. The others all have better cleaner flavours. Ken is from Sussex and when I was younger we grew both the creamy yellow broccoli and the white Cauli.
