As a white girl living in Jpan, cooking for a Japanese hsband, these videos have improved my Japanese styled cooking so much! I even got compliments from my mother in law! Thank you, Francis!
That is the most beautiful omelet I have ever seen! I need to get a pan like that one! What a beautiful presentation. The Japanese are so artistic in everything they do!
I have never added greens to my tamagoyaki, but I'll try this. The best tamago I've ever had in a restaurant is at Hajime, in Harrison, NY. Chef Sam-san is a genius with sushi and tamagoyaki.
i never know making fried egg would be so complex & skill-needed like this. anyway, her handwork so amazingly nice, tidy and beautiful :). good job chef
I found the channel a couple of days ago and I'm in love! Francis is such an adorable dog and so well-behaved! I like that the videos are easy to understand with clear explanation and very nice tricks&tips that only an expert can give, and the very experienced chef makes the recipes look so easy to make, not to mention delicious! I just made the Tamagoyaki, my first Cooking with Dog recipe, it didn’t come out perfect but it was a nice surprise and I absolutely loved it. It was delicious and loved the texture. I was feeling hungry and sad with no ideas for dinner, but now I’m full up with a smile on my face! I can't wait to cook many more of these wonderful recipes! Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us! Doumo arigato!
im italian and love to cook. ur channel got me so interested in Asian cuisine that its all i have been researching for months good job. keep making more videos i love them
Well... I'm a bit surprised that it took so long for you to adress Tamagoyaki for so long-- it's, well, one of THE bento dishes. On the other hand, I don't think I have ever seen it so simply and understandably produced. An EXCELLENT piece of the Cooking With Dog puzzle!
This is such a charming series. It’s very well done. I can watch it once and make the dish. I just received my Japanese omelette pan from Amazon. Now I can put it to use!
The way she flipped the eggs though lol awesomeeeeeeeee!! And I just realized francis is the real dog @@ I thought it's the stuffed puppy all this time subscribing to her @@ I must be looking at her foods all these time lol
I just made this for lunch along with the potato salad from the bento box video and they were very good. I used vegetable stock instead of the dashi stock and also used finely chopped broccoli instead of the parsley. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, I will definitely be making it again.
This must be really good! Chef looked so thrilled when she took it out of the pan. Anything that makes her look that happy definitely needs to be tried! :D
I have finally mastered this .... it makes for a great breakfast to put in my bento and take to work. I was skeptical about everything that goes into the eggs first but it really is amazing. Love your tutorials
I came back to this recipe for breakfast and my ❤️ hurts so much watching this. Long live Chef and Francis! They have a special place in my heart. Now I'm going to cry while making this.
I made this today using your recipe! I used aonori seaweed in place of the Mitsuba parsley leaves, and fish sauce diluted in water in place of Dashi stock. It was very delicious!
I am making this on Sunday, we are having a Japanese breakfast, lunch and dinner. My son recommend this for breakfast, we live in the UK but he worked in Shinjuku for 7 years and loves Japanese food, he bought us one of these pans many years ago but it'll be the first time. .
Thank you, Chef, for another delicious recipe easily prepared by even the most novice of us cooks. My "perfect vacation" would be to take as many months as I needed to travel from the southern tip of Japan, crossing side to side, and eating ALL the local specialty foods along the way to the northern most point of Japan. A meal prepared by Chef would be the Highlight of my trip, no doubt! Thanks!!!
I learned about cooking tamagoyaki a year or two ago. Now it's the ONLY way we make omelets - American or Japanese. It's actually easier than trying to fold thick American style omelets, and it always comes out looking beautiful! I notice Chef 'tosses' the pan when she rolls it. I'll have to try that. ありがとうございます
Truly great and excellent channel. It reminds me of the essential and valuable qualities that the traditional Asian women possess: diligence, endurance and homeliness. Lots of respect for the beautiful cook and her wonderful dishes!
I made it for the first time today. It wasn't perfect but I was happy to make something after so many years of watching your show. Thank you and I'll be sure to do better next time!
I always learn something new when I watch your videos. I've been making tamagoyaki for some months and was having trouble starting new layers. I will try your technique tomorrow! Thank you!
I treated myself years ago with one of these tamagoyaky pans and make the dish mostly for brunch or weekend breakfast. I mostly add little cubes of cooked ham and swiss cheese. Yummy, yummy! Francis is so cute with his collar and the tie.
I made hundreds omelette in my life but mever with this tecnic, I will try, i think it´ s so nice for to put diferents store in each step. Fantadtic!!!
I love tamagoyaki but haven't really tried to make it until recently. Your video helps give me inspiration to keep working at it until I can make a nice smooth tamagoyaki like yours. Thanks for showing the process so clearly.
Thank you for this recipe. I liked how you flipped tamagoyaki up from the pan to help roll it. I always made small tamagoyaki because I didn't know how to roll without breaking it. Now I know how to do that right. :) THX
I have always loved this channel. My dog watches..but from the floor. I found the pan at Home Goods for $15. I used a little cilantro & a scallion finely chopped up. Substituted 1 Tbsp of the water for mirin/cooking sake combo. You can find the granulated Hon dashi stock at Japanese markets or online. Little jar keeps in fridge for long time. Last tip you can put your broiler on low and just hold your pan under the burner for 20 seconds each time to not brown the bottom but keeps the pan hot. Definitely medium heat. Lift it often.
I love it! Just made the recipe using a regular circular pan, and it turned out awesome! Also, I don't have things like dashi stock, so I just added the tiniest bit of water (about 1 tbsp), and didn't add the soy sauce. I put in cinnamon basil, leak/green onion, and garlic! (Make sure to cook them in the oil until aromatic first!)
I'm a little clumsy with my chopsticks and I used a round pan, so I needed the aid spatula to do the first fold, but this was super easy and really tasty. i loved the touch of sweetness. Yummy as usual!
Ahh, this was perfect! I didn't have any parsley, chives or green onions around, so I chopped up some spinach finely to add the color and nutrition. It was really good! Thank you!
how to make the tamagoyaki in a circle-shaped pan? wouldn't the shape be ruined? thanks for making these videos, there hasn't been a single video that failed to make me drool!! chef FTW
This looks soooo good! I've tried making this a few years ago. I couldn't get the rolling right (but now that I see how it's done I could probably do it) but it still tasted okay even thought I saw missing a few things. lol
The texture of tamagoyaki is light and fluffy since it has many layers :) The cut surface is also presentable!
how is that poodle so chill and not trying to eat the food omg
Not like us people. Whenever I watch these, I scream, "I NEEED ITTTTTT!"
Japanese discipline
omg i read this comment 5 years ago LOL.
The dog is telling how to cook *obviously*
LOL! I wondered the same thing when I first found these videos years ago! 😂
Are you kidding?she made a simple egg looks so delicious and very exotic food.i love japanese food!
As a white girl living in Jpan, cooking for a Japanese hsband, these videos have improved my Japanese styled cooking so much! I even got compliments from my mother in law!
Thank you, Francis!
This tastes great both hot or cold. For those of you without cooking chopsticks a spatula works great for flipping each layer over.
She's got mad skills. (0_0)

Still my go-to channel for Japanese cooking videos after all these years. Really high quality.

I got a non sticky pan like this and it made the whole process much easier because no oil is needed
I ended up making scrambled eggs...
but, it was goood :D

I love chef. She just seems so jolly all the time.
chopsticks game on point.
Francis looks very handsome in his outfit. I am glad Chef has such a loyal kitchen helper. Her recipes are always wonderful.
I've always made omelets in a similar fashion yet this is a great variation which I will adopt for making one of my favorite foods.
This must be really good! Chef looked so thrilled when she took it out of the pan. Anything that makes her look that happy definitely needs to be tried! :D
Great video and love your well behaved poodle. Your video is very clear and easy to understand. Thank you for sharing this recipe and process.

I came back to this recipe for breakfast and my ❤️ hurts so much watching this. Long live Chef and Francis! They have a special place in my heart. Now I'm going to cry while making this.
The food on Cooking with Dog is better than anything on Food Network on its best day.
I made this today using your recipe! I used aonori seaweed in place of the Mitsuba parsley leaves, and fish sauce diluted in water in place of Dashi stock. It was very delicious!
I really enjoy this channel. What a good dog!!!
