Something very useful that made the powersword feel much better to use: if you do a dash and then hold the attack button you will do a dash attack while also switching the mode of the sword. It is much faster than pausing to switch modes and kets you weave it into the middle of combos to keep the aggression up.
FYI, if you have the perk that drops a shock AoE when your shield is depleted, it counts as you rescuing yourself from a Ravener that has grabbed you. It was how I got the "Unhand My Brother!" trophy 😂
Only thing I'd add is to master block canceling. Once you get it down it's hard to hurt you because you're hardly ever exposed. Things you can cancel Attacks Shield bash Parry(so you can dodge) If I missed it, let me know so i can stamp it
^^ Read this great tip that I left out!^^ No you didn't miss it but I certainly did. Your absolutely right! Im going to blame making this video fatigue making me miss that =p. Especially when Im making a video right now about parry and its importance in attack cancelling lol.. Im glad you mentioned this so people will see it! Just another reason why this class is S Tier.
@@hieumongous2908 Hold Block at anytime and it will cancel out your attack and block instead. Or Tap To cancel with a parry instead of a block. Just always know no matter what your doing in the game you can use parry/block to cancel it to protect yourself. Only thing you cant cancel out is a dive/dodge.
Power whirl stance is when you're pausing after a swing, waiting for the blade to shine so you can do the AOE attack. Not POWER stance, which is the attack mode of the sword. Crappy wording, i know. The perk should be worded something like "you are immune to interrupt/ knock back while preparing/performing a power whirl attack." The way it's worded makes it seem like you are immune as long as you are in power mode.
I would advise to only use medcits after you get knocked down and get a wound. You can plop banner use medcit and you heal wound and get full health it's bonkers. Ideally you should aim to not touch any ammo and only one medcit just incase for the mission. Bulwark can afford to do that and it's a big boon for the team
I prefer shield bash damage boost on the third line you rarely find yourself in the 25% health zone, when you're using bash and gunshots correctly, then take the second perk for incap on perfect parry, just feels better than shock imo
The shield bash for 25%, is a nice perk as well because that really is a lot of extra damage. The first one conviction gives you 25% less health dmg overall after you lose your armor you dont have to be at 25% health to reap its benefits. Just lose your armor and you will get the dmg reduction for 25%.
@@MoProduktions Ooo that's a really tough choice between the two. Bashing is important, but that 25% reduction could be the difference between life and death
Agreed.. When unlocking the shield bash for 25% extra dmg I would say try using it and if your not missing having the 25% dmg reduction, and are surviving fine without out it. Then shield bash would be the choice.
@BOAR-yv9nj funny thing about that 25% damage boost is it effects the shield bash afterwards too 🤣 I still like the shock on armor lost but as you get better it happens less and less. So I'm always using kill major on parry or the lvl 25 perk no knockdown. With armor on nonlethal gunstrikes, shield bash gunstrikes and parries, my armor stays topped up
@@warriorfire8103 I guess if you kinda get good and are confident in regaining armor again, you can abuse this by intentionally losing armor to have like 2 shock aoes and then just regain the armor normally, pretty big aoe control
Great guide but not definitive; Can you add a section on how to play with a Bullwark in team (as in how to support a bullwark, and how a bullwark supports you)? it's a section that is missing in most guides but it's the most important bit to get the best team-play as possible.
Thats a good idea! Wish I added it in here.I was planning an overall ultimate team mate guide. Ill try an add a dedicated section for the bulwark specifically, he has so much to offer it makes sense.
I have this issue on bulwark that my parrying seems to be kinda wonky? Like there are times my parry gets broken and I take damage from it but I still get the gun strikes and will proc the shock field. And it only happens on bulwark. It’s like the shield is blocking or something instead of just doing the parry. I’ll have this blue flash happen (like the shield getting broken)when it occurs too so am I doing something wrong? Also my banner gives me and team mates full contested health regardless if I have the perk or not so I take the damaging banner perk because for whatever reason I get both.
Im thinking you may be holding down Parry to long and since it blocks as well with the bulwark you have to tap for your parry animation. Also what weapon are you using, I find the PowerSword to have a less forgiving parry window then the Fists and the Chainsword (but that could be a personal preference of mine.. I think that will get patched out so that why i made the guide picking that one, but yes use other perks until they fix the contested health always working.
@@MoProduktions I am using fencing power sword. I thought maybe that was my issue to so I started being hyper careful on just tapping the block button but I’m stilling having the same issue. Is very weird.
Anyone have tips on M+K control schemes for bulwark? I had parry and melee on 2 side mouse buttons, which is beautiful for all other classes, but very awkward with respect to shield bash.
Sorry I cant be more help here. But ya that sounds like a good set up literally for every other class but will be hard to bash with for sure. I did a quick google search for any info but came up with nothing.
@@MoProduktions I think my workaround is going to be to set the melee key to one of Keyboard keys and use my Mouse software to bind MB5 to that keyboard key. That way both the keyboard key and mouse button do the same thing. For bulwark, I could then hold the mouse parry button for shield and hit the keyboard key for bash.

You can not, and that's why block cancel is nice if you don't think you can get the parry.
Awesome break down 🎉
They have to add a Power Axe and Chainsaw Axe.
chain Axe would be sweet, but I don't think we'll get it. It's mainly used by traitor legions and few loyalist chapters

i believe its only protection while preparing, i swear ive been knocked out of the attack animation mid-whirl
actually useful tips for some things i didnt know :)

Attribute that to my lack of experience making videos =p.. Going to get that cleaned up because it is annoying!

If you have time check back and let me know if that works/feels good. So I can let others know who ask.
I do left clicks for shooting
Right click for parrying
1st side mouse for melee
2nd for zoom (hold instead of toggle)
Works great for me
Im sending my boy your guides cause I suck at explaining things 😂
Lol..Thanks for the share!
For the eternal crusade! For the God-Emperor!
Guve me that skin in the thumbnail than yeah ill play

This was 3 weeks ago before the balancing patch ruined this game.😢
Ya this is pre patch.. I haven't had much time to dive back into the Bulwark since. What feels different now afterwards?
