As someone who spent over a couple hundred hours on this, I can say that it's a blast if you get used to it.
Man I'm buying it soon. I love the franchise and the demo was nice.
This game is hard as hell
I’d say it is, if you want a chill time. Haven’t been the game yet and I’m on chapter 7. While I don’t play games that often anymore it is a nice way to spend an hour in the evening. Having to grind and constantly replay the same stages isn’t always the most fun. That and there should be more playable grunt suits in the game. It’s still a good time imo
Absolutely love the game just wish there were some more regular content added to the game. Saw the Sengoku pack coming soon so hopefully that's the beginning of more units coming this year.
I was just browsing around since I had the random urge to play a Gundam game and was looking at SD Gundam Battle Alliance. Pretty happy that I stumbled upon this video and get a bit more insight on the game. I have a question though. Do you unlock other Mobile Suits via story? Or do you have to craft them?
I have been wanting to get this on switch for when I travel. One of the goals I had for this year was to travel a bit more but I think I also want to explore more gundam games modern and older.
I've been interested in this game for awhile now but I wasn't sure if I should get it now in 2023 but after watching your video I'm more interested in getting it then I was before. Thank you for such an informative video and keep up the good work Gundam Explained.
I played the demo for SD Gundam Battle Alliance and I thought it was pretty fun. But I never ended up buying the full version of the game. Honestly, I think it has potential and clearly Bandai Namco thought so considering they released it on previous gen & current gen consoles and PC.
I just finished Zeta Gundam a few days ago and I've been looking for more Gundam stuff to munch on, so this game definitely seems right up my alley.
You scared me for a second there. I only just started playing this game on PC in January, and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Good to know there's still an audience for it.

I played this game so much just grinding missions online with random people lol I really hope they do a sequel eventually. The missions were mostly fun, but it felt like there were a few too many short ones at the start. The harder 30+ minute dlc missions were my favorites. The video got me to redownload and start a new save again so thanks!
This is definitely a fun chill/grinding game especially once you have a suit you can just decimate with.
Just noticed that your player level was 95. Do they raise it eventually? Im pretty deep into the game, just reached the 7th tier of levels but I’m still capped at level 50.
I also hope to find the 3rd level uncap for the MS soon, I’m struggling on the tier 7 missions at suit level 50.
Unrelated but I agree i love the aesthetic of this game. I’m playing on PS5 and am really impressed with the graphics overall.
The lack of unlockable grunt mobile suits make me a bit sad, kinda lets down both the SD Gundam moniker as well as the Gundam Battle moniker which I was hoping it would uphold.... But I do love the game in docked mode~ (handheld mode just wasn't crisp on the switch)
I bought it the week it came out and only played like 2 or 3 missions and got busy with other stuff. Whenever I get some time off I'm going to jump back into it
I saw it on Xbox gamepass and started playing the other day and I'm having fun but it has been a bit too easy (on normal mode) and was wondering how much more there are to look forward to. Answer is 'a lot'. Thanks for the review.

Ive been debating on which gundam to get on the switch and this game was really cathing my attention and its very tempting to buy it, i love the gundam series!
I have not put much time into this game. I do enjoy it. I am looking to playing this weekend due to scheduling conflict, LOL. In the future I might buy it for my PC, Playstation and Switch. To show my support for the Gundam Universe... I did this for Nier Automata.
Gundam 00 is my favorite and I am glad Exia is playable in this game!
Just started playing 10 hours in I like it so far, although I saw they are missing alot of wing ms and some from IBO so kinda disappointed in that especially since Flauros, Heavy Arm, and Tallegeese.
I kinda reminds of a scaled down gundam versus and i love it.

I played the demo on Switch. What’s the difficulty curve for this starting out after the demo going into the rest of the game?
It's not really that hard, just grind out missions for capital, parts and rank up material and you're all set. Just take your time there's no rush and the game is pretty chill. It does get hard especially with the EX missions.
But other than that it's fairly understandable and easy to learn, especially if you like MS like FAZZ, that thing melts enemy suits.
Sadly, the Deathscythe gundam isn't t in the game...or is it? Haven't played the game yet.
The game's on sale for something like 50% off right now on the eShop and I was thinking about picking it up. I'll have to download the demo first and see what I make of it.

The Alternate path and missions where your actions will creates a what if Scenario idea came from Gundam vs Zeta Gundam for the PS2. I loved the idea so much that I would like to see other Gundam or anime games have that in them
I hope there's more DLC on the way. I've heard people wish more grunt suits like the GN-X were playable. Me, personally, I'd like more units from G Gundam like the Shadow Gundam, Nobel Gundam, and the rest of the Shuffle Alliance. I'd also like a boss rush mode if there isn't one already. I don't have the game yet, so I can't tell.
Ex missions are like boss rushes as its just pure boss fights but its great they just need to add more ex missions to be honest

Just finally got around to picking this up, probably put about 20 +~ hours so far and am digging it overall. Just got my beloved F91 so I’m set.
Picked it up for PS5, I think it looks as me runs great. There are two graphic modes listed under “Ray Tracing”, “prioritize frame rate” and “prioritize graphics”. I’ve used prioritize frame rate 90% of the time but I will say I can’t see much of a difference to the visuals or frame rate in the prioritize graphics mode.
Anyways…enjoying the game, even the grindiness doesn’t really bother me too much. Solid video, I’ll subscribe.

I really wanted Gundam like the Phenex to playable but unfortunately it was just the Narrative. If they do more DLC, I’d seriously hope they give true missions for the previous DLCs and let MS like Phenex and QAN [T] ELS be playable. And maybe more DLC mission and suits like the Unicorn Perfectibility. I dunno, a guy can just wish honestly

@@Xspress no they are not. The Phenex is only shown in an an illustration and while QAN[T] ELS is a boss in the dlc, it is not playable. Did you not read my entire comment? And the Perfectibility is not in the game at all.

No, more similar to marvel ultimate alliance. Deliberate combat that you cannot button-mash.

I love Gundam and was excited for this title but I found it bleek and repetitive. They should have just made them fullsize cause you can barely feel and see the impact of their moves. the camera and the fact they are SD makes even more difficult. It's like watching a Trex tryna box.... A better example playing as sonic the hedgehog and watching him punch n kick.. sonics head is to big in games for you take his hits serious. Plus the characters need more moves. It's basically the vs series but adventure modes. Wish they put more effort into it. Just play sd gundam g generation series. It's better and you can see and feel the impact of mech doing their moves.

Fun game but not as great as Gundam Dynasty warriors 3. This game needed more gundams for sure. I also had to disable the voice dialogue and just held skip through all the text of it when I could, man there is so much and its cheesy.

Any Gundam series not in the UC timeline is not cannon. Wing, G Gundam are not cannon. The suits are all from Amuros timeline.

Its not doing well, Xbox put it on game pass cause it wasn't making money like most of the game pass catalog. Destiny and halo, for example.

@@GundamExplained ooooh didnt even see his before this lol gameplay looked simplistic. cant help but imagine the other universes woulda had a more dark or relatable approach. deeper mechanics and such as well. i think the xbox gamepass is an incredible consumer friendly service. i have ultimate for my pc and xbox one for the past few years and i enjoy alot of the games on there. i woul;dnt say any of em are by definition under achievers or under performers. imo
