This game is fun. It’s got some really secret mechanics underneath it all. I’m loving it
So after few hours in I've had an epiphany. This is Dynasty Warriors Gundam 4. Just without the 1000s of enemies on the screen.
Defs not that kind of game.
More of a gundam battle tactics or battle destiny but more refined with PvE mechanics
I get more of a Dragon Ball XenoVerse vibe
No. After 220hrs into it I can say that it very much is dynasty warriors gundam. Without the large amounts of enemies. It has the same feel control and ascetic wise.

I haven't had as much time as you with the game but I'm loving it so far. Its a great game to sit in bed with my Steam Deck. Its not perfect game, but I don't see the hate people are giving it. Its got a great amount of easter eggs, and its been fun matching pilots to get the different level intro dialog to trigger, and it's got a surprising amount of depth to it.
This is perfect for the Steam Deck! Good call!

It's probably because of the combo system or the fact that mostly every boss has hyper armor and can slap you around easily or most of the bosses are giant mobile armors with hyper armor as well. Or how about the fact that as this video showed even at lvl 30 where your stats are in the 300-500 range your damage output still seems like your sitting on 200 damage. The game needs to be twerked Abit more. Or it maybe how you have to grind for mobile suit plans and capitol or how the chaos missions have suits that you literally have to look all over the stage to find
@@shoken4421 A lot of the issues you called out I have not experienced because I haven't had much time with the game, but I'm also a masochist for the grind of games sometimes. So we'll see when I get to that point. Having it mobile makes a lot of the grind easy because I can just put it to sleep if I need a quick break.
@@MysticBGaming if you've met Hermes Mercury then you've run into atleast one boss with hyper armor,heck even the first fight with barbatos has hyper armor .if youve gotten to directory 3 or higher every main boss has hyper armor then there's the giant mobile suits who are ridiculously fast for being GIANT mobile armors
@@shoken4421 I haven't had that hard a time with some of the bosses of I level up enough. I understand the issue though. It's been grindy to take some of the hyper armor down. But I also love monster hunter, and taking 15 mins to take a boss down.

It's a lot of fun. Just wish it was a tad more fast paced in terms of attacks etc but it's a really good for a gundam game.
it's good to know the F91 SPA grants more capital. i'm was just using to buff weapon damage and throw all the ammo in bosses.

I am going to have to watch again and talk more with you about the netting captial stuff. There is still so much to learn and I am only 10 hrs in roughly.

This game actually looks fun. The demo and early gameplay footage you find online don’t do it justice.
You are right.
Might want to avoid using autoguard when playing with friends, you might not be able to revive if ur peppered with some small 12 dmg bullets from a zaku 2 that you stop reviving to block
Nothing feels better than 3 players layering break actions and just beating a boss into a corner
Yes, explanation of advanced blocking/cancelling/breaking would be awesome.
There's a til menu for that, I literally just found it, why I'm commenting on these videos lol
It's all there in the in-game tutorial. But only one mention to you having a tutorial is made, and it's all the way at the atop in Directory Zero - which you'd probably never otherwise go to.

yeah overall you get it.
but you kinda miss one tip when playing sharpshooter you can go link sub/main weapon attack to unleashed an all out attack and reduce the animations.
same for if you using weak/strong melee and press dash on the right frame you can deal some crazy stuff with it
How do you link sub/main weapon attacks?
@@ninjascroll1017 depend on mech, but you can press it at the right time to cancel animation, might need some time to practice but easiest is ZZFA you can press missile pod then main right away you will saw a light blue light
One thing you didn’t mention at all and never saw you use is you’re ally special attacks. They are massive help. Most of the time even when activating them too on normal bosses (not mobile armors) if will lock the boss in place for a few seconds before the attack goes off offering your huge damage moments as well as the damage from them doing their special too.
How do I activate my team mates special?

Those gray cubes below the hp do 2 very important things....that are explained in an optional tutorial after you're already free to go wherever

I've come back to this after playing a few hours initially then getting into other games. As a life long Gundam fan and a huge fan of SD Gundam G Generation games, I do really love the customizable options you get and the roster available. It does get repetitive, and I'd love BanNam to put some actual resources into a top tier game, but there's a lot to this one under the surface for sure.

25 hours in just as far as you. I find the AI of your partners is so goofy it's worth mentioning. They don't block anything, nor do they seem to combo, and aggro isn't in their understanding lol. I find your partners always act the same regardless of their role (infighter, sharpshooter, allrounder.) Using an infighter to tank for your partners really works until d3a, true. Then the game gears towards sharpshooters, bosses get too beefy to melee without getting downed, but it's mostly due to utility. They have more heals and sharpshooter partners give you heal buffs, plus the unwavering part (skill not part) that lets you revive partners uninterrupted. Although, I really gotta pin this all on AI. Definitely feels meant to be played in multiplayer, but I feel like I would have beaten the game by now and I would have only used the Gouf custom if I'd have another human player on my team.
Sounds like actual gundam Canon. All allies die quick and you become a one man army MC
This games lock on plays hard to get even after you switch it's priority.
I've never played dark souls but I have seen it's gameplay before maybe that's why I'm having some trouble.
hey thanks for the content, this game make me nostalgic, I was playing SDGO for korean server and intl server but it got shutdown. sad but there was no other way. I really hope they remake it, and here I got my wish come true, at least with many different system but still the same gameplay that I love. Looking forward to your other content.
btw I'm freedom gundam main and justice gundam main. on my way farming for my favorite red and blue astray. would love to know your opinion about your ms (like tier list or something about ms review)
9 hours in and these are what i learned
1. Lucky + Raring to Go helps to get more Capital too. esp with F91 or Alex. i'm using the latter.
2. later missions will test your ability to Perfect Guard. though some of the giant bosses have rather unpredictable or unreactable attacks.
3. pre Chapter 4, just focus on 1-2 suits. Chapter 4 Capital drops are pretty high.
4. on missions with multiple MS bosses, you might want to consider 2x Infighter as your ally. they can help keep the boss mostly in Break. and they also hold aggro better on giant bosses
5. play the tutorials. its better in this game than other games. Chain Breaker and Role Action is key in this game.
6. Kampfer murders bosses with I Fields
wait dlc get all gundam wing endless wartls and gundam 00 movie
This is Gold.. the difficulty spike is insane, if you don’t know how to perfect guard your gonna have a bad day

Any idea on how to get rid of the SPA animation? It's kinda irritating when you break a boss and unleash the attack, only to find out that by the time the animation has finished playing the boss is back at full shields and beating you to death. There's a menu option but it doesn't seem to have any effect on specials.
You can’t get rid of the SPA animation since it also plays through in multiplayer. However my advice is to not use your SPA when they break, there are better ways to deal damage. SPA can actually hold enemies in place if you do it near them and they’re not broken. Also you have s starting from when you activate so it’s an excellent get out of jail free card too.

Im surprised you don't use lucky for F91, every time you use your job skill + spa you get tons of gold from any kills

This game is great. I’m getting all my units leveled up to 25 before proceeding further. Currently stuck on directory 6 True Mission, the Alex is my preferred unit for farming, but the Cherudim is replacing it now due to the combo potential it has.
Does "Air Drifter" enhance damage from ranged aerial attacks, or only from melee aerial attacks?
Any attacks when the enemy is in the air.

If SDGBA have an swap optional playstyle instead of change any ms different parts like gbo2 the game would be extremely fun.
Im curious about the endgame. Any point in playing after you beat the campaign?
Well something I wanted to touch on in this video but I'll make separate, there's a 'Chaos' difficulty unlocked, where within a stage there's a special event where you try to find an ace pilot. These missions are random and timed, can add value, then with the DLC we'll be getting more missions and suits. But I'll be curious to see if there's anything else.

it sucks they give you a little space on some maps that if you want your ai allies to get the aggro then its hard

Yes, like Sekiro you have a pose to break on bosses. Also, I was just fighting a mobile armor and I blocked a 3 hit combo that apparently timed correctly for me to do a high damage counter attack. I wasn't doing this on purpose but now I know that is a possibility.
So yeah I figured out that you don't really need the lock on for normal enemies. But you mainly need lock on for the bosses. Feels easier now.
OMG and the skill "Lucky Shot" is a life saver!
My opinion this game is more like phantasy star online/ or pso 2, but I do see references not in terms of the combat but the heals.. you only got a certain amount like the flask 😂

Seems you still aren't using your team members abilities. It would make things much easier if you utilized their abilities by holding left and right on the dpad.
On the contrary, I do use them when necessary.
I honestly didn't know how to utilize them ones I use are all rounders
My only complaint so far is they expect you to read while your playing since in sub and no dub lol

The constant dialogue while I’m playing really annoying
Sometimes they are telling you secrets on the map, would be better for English speakers if it was dubbed, because I can't read it all the time while playing.
I agree. Also theyre portraits being on screen when they talk makes the screen even more cluttered than it already is
I like this game. But i cant help but compare it to Gundam Breaker 3, and it just feels all around like a downgrade from that game
