I agree that the boardwalk area should be a lot. It could just be a tiny lot at the front - a bar (maybe not for a teen-focused pack haha) or nightclub, but then depending on packs you could make it a cafe, karaoke bar, restaurant, etc. I think a lot of the community lots would fit the space nicely, and then it would be a win-win of an extra "real" lot and an "easy" way to travel the boardwalk if you just wanted to do boardwalk things.

Mostly just dug up quartz in the yard. When we were kids, we were told to be careful running through the hills because there were undiscovered mine shafts with ventilation holes we could fall into. That makes me sound old, but it's really just a rural small town. Not much has changed in decades. I live in L.A now. I rarely get to go back to where I grew up, so I may get this pack if only to have my self sim "go home." The EA team had to have modeled this after a small foothill mining town. Small towns like the one I grew up in are a great place to retire, raise a family, or hide bodies. It's not really a place to build your life. I had to leave to discover the rest of the world, and see just how small my own world was.
I'm so happy they're bringing in creators to make the houses. I feel like they have a better feeling for what is needed and what looks good. Small details that makes such a difference
I actually love this town!! The lots are giving me Granite Falls with the river side/woodlands feel which is excellent because I always wished we could live there. This world is perfect for family gameplay. I want to start in Lasuli Point, it’s so pretty! I hope in future we get some more grassy suburban lots that actually share a fence line. It might not be “exciting” but I think we have enough spaced-out homes that are surrounded by shells/scenery. It would have been great to have three or four houses in that street with the odd sideways lot, all sharing a fence line, no shells and good for a family street.
I’m excited to see the schools people make. The one they built into the game is just too huge but since they included a list of required attributes, it’ll be easy to make cool schools in a more appropriate size
I feel like the upstairs of the bubble tea/thrift store would also make an amazing Club Hangout with Get Together. Maybe even do a after school club yourself that way.
so proud of freezerbunny! hope he gets to do more EA builds in future packs. I really love his builds and he is an architect irl and shares a lot of historical background on different types of builds which i love learning. All the creators did an amazing job. That one almost empty house with the no railing stairs definitely reeks of EA work LOL.
totally agree with James' point that the amusement park area is a bit disappointing but getting high hopes for the gameplay! Wish to see James creating own version of the high school before starting the LP!
I wouldn't be as bothered by it if Sims 1 Makin' Magic hadn't had animated rides 19 years ago. Sims 3 Roaring Heights had an interactive boardwalk too. I don't know the extent of how the limitations of The Sims 4 affects this. Maybe lack of innovation, underpaid developers, or strict deadlines...who knows? It's a glaring missed opportunity though. There's parts of The Sims 4 that are really well done, so certain areas that are underwhelming really stick out:(
Oh my gosh this world is STUNNING!!! I will use this constantly! Haven’t even seen any build/buy, gameplay, or CAS but I’m already sold just for the world. Very excited for this pack!
MsGryphi is one of my fave build youtubers bc of her aptitude with detail and making really Real looking houses! I def recommend her videos for people who like that, and she's doing a state build series of making houses that look like they are from a US state!
@@Borderlinedino1 Oh that's so interesting! I love seeing architecture and especially sims home builds from other countries so it's lovely to hear that others do as well!
Same, l love all her tiny home builds too. But if you like builders that are very good with attention to detail you should watch @DevonBumpkin! He’s a simmer from the UK and he has some beautiful builds. 💕🙏🏽🏡
Some came up with a great idea on lilsimsie's stream. They said you could click on work from home and then go to the highschool yourself. But I don't know if any students will be there. I'll have to try it out
CallMeKevin has such an opportunity to create the most bizarre school. I imagine moving the white boards and desks around is going to really screw up the game
This whole world and all the little quirks (like the student painted parking spaces some commenters mentioned) are just fascinating to me as a non-American. I'm excited to see what the gameplay is like, I'm gonna go straight to the next vid you have up!
i wish that the bubble tea store and thrift store could be separate lot assignments. maybe this pack couldve been an excuse to add a fusing mechanic where you can fuse some lot assignments together. a spa with a hot spring npc automatically use. a library-gym combo so the one in moonwood mill would have sims that automatically work out. a cafe that also works as a bowling alley due to it being part nightclub/lounge/bar. of course lots sims can own/live in wont work but all the others could
The "faculty parking lot" is actually the student lot, we decorated our parking spaces at my high school as seniors since many of us drove to school, it was so cool to see this in the game
I love the pure positivity and praise you show towards the creators who worked on this pack! It's so refreshing to see people building up others. Thank you for being so kind!
THANK YOU for showing the world!!! I had already pre-ordered this pack, and now I can't wait to start playing. I agree that there "should have been" SOME kind of lot on the pier. However... guess I'll see for myself, "just how long" it will take my sim to get there and leave. Fantastic job with showing off the houses!
I'd love to see Misdemeanoir Volt 2.0 make a return for the Highschool Let's Play since they have experience with being in a school setting with one of the Bigwallets
The area with all the purple flowers gave me major twilight vibes! And yes I think it’s very reminiscent to Riverdale. I fully plan on having the Blossoms move in
I love the art deco vibes this town gives off, like you can really tell the school has a 1920s style to the exterior and with the shapes in the doors/ interior floors and walls. Also the shapes in some of the items like a rug at the counter in the tea shop even tho its in modern colors. I guess the lore is the town was really active in mining in the 20s or something but I love that super classic american vibe when it comes to the style!
Maybe for the LP Angus can hangout too? He now got his cure free from werewolf life and decided to move somewhere else, starting a new life (if teacher is a thing in the high school maybe he can try?) definitely need an adult with the teens. So far Hazel has been busy trying for more babies so maybe Kristina can just live with her brother instead🤣 agree with one of the comments to go high school with Nina's or Angus' child together
Thank you so much for shouting out MsGryphi for the builds they did!! I follow them too and so it's nice to see different people I love shout each other out like this ❤️❤️
Typically sims 4 pack lots of nice elements to add to the game but frustratingly limited due to the existing faults and limitations of the game. Love the creator sims lot builds honestly some of the best aspects of the world I kind of knew that the school would be limited but I was hoping that we could build schools in other worlds with the 64 x 64 lots so a little disappointed there I was imaging a high school in some of the base game worlds such as oasis springs or Newcrest giving those worlds a community revamp which in my opinion they lack but I’m excited to play this pack
Yeah, adding a high school to Newcrest at the very least would be fantastic use of such an empty world. The biggest lot isn't 64 x 64 but you could easily add a school there and then put the auditorium in the smaller lot beside it, plus there's a kid's playground nearby which isn't really teens but still makes sense to me lol. (If kids left school a little earlier they could taunt older siblings who are looking out the window.) Not to mention plenty of room for homes, another Thriftea, a library, a park, and anything else that you've got like a restaurant, a cat cafe, a retail lot, a spa, a dog park, or a yoga studio on its own. :)
@@DoveJS Omg that really makes me think of making newcrest the opposite type of US high school suburb! They could be state champ rivals every year with Copperdale lol
@@jukeboxxgamer That'd be fantastic! Especially since Copperdale seems to be West Coast and Newcrest seems to be an extension of Willow Creek (which is East Coast.) You could even make a "mascot" for them and dress up a local Sim that way lol. Maybe create some clubs via Get Together and make them official rivals. See, I don't think we'd need a school in every town, it'd be realistic but unnecessary and mostly a waste of space, but building up Newcrest like that would be perfect. (Maybe add one in Brindleton Bay for a third variety and because it's also kind of empty.) And if you had Get Together, you could change Magnolia Promenade to fit in with Newcrest and Willow Creek because they're all kinda New Orleans. And hey with a Save File you can have the benefits of the clubs and Sim relationships. :)
Such a cool pack!!! It looks fantastic and the lots and world are really fantastic. I can’t wait for all the new game play, I’m so excited for it!!! The cafeteria could maybe be divided up into a cafeteria, and another room that’s a library or “student lounge” that we had at my HS…you could use some of the rattier furniture from Werewolves in the student lounge. I’d love it if there was an interaction with the bleachers for the classic HS move “sneak under bleachers and make out,” 😁
Little fun fact for James and some viewers who don’t know. A lot of school allow for Senior parking. So seniors or the highest grade in high school are given designated parking spots that they can paint, customize, accessorize in anyway they want. That’s their parking spot for the whole school year. So those painted parking spots aren’t for faculty. They are for students. This isn’t every high school in America though. Mine doesn’t have this. But I know a lot that do so yeah just some explanation on the painted parking spots. I hope James sees this. I think he’ll think that’s cool.
Gosh the highschool must've been an ea, it's so huge and empty... I get they always go for the bare minimum but dang they really don't know how to use space
Yeah, on the trailer it looked so well decorated and the cafeteria looked really cozy but now it's just one big empty room with the cafetaria and 3 tables
As someone who used to play Sims on a really old, really crummy computer (and sometimes still does lol, Sims 2 plays better on it than my "gaming" computer), I appreciate that they do this. These spartan, cavernous/empty builds run better for folks with lower specs. I get that it's annoying to have to rebuild stuff to your liking (now that I have a better computer, I just let other simmers build awesome stuff and put it on the gallery and then I nab it, haha), but not everyone has or can afford a computer than can handle clutter or really nice/full/"lively" builds. I'd rather they cater to those folks - I think in general one of the things I like about the Sims is that they make efforts to be accessible in various ways. Not that they're perfect, but I appreciate that they try. The "full game" is expensive enough as it is lol, it's nice that you don't have to also build a "gaming rig" to play it (in a perfect world, each build would come with two versions - the "Sims standard" version we see today, and a more filled-out one that's ready for swapping for folks who have better machines).
@@barthelbartels Yeah, I can see that too. I was thinking I would just make some spaces smaller without rebuilding it. Or download a lot from the gallery
Oh also as someone from a small town we definitely have a small library with a park next to it! We have other bigger buildings but ... not much bigger. I think the biggest building "in town" (its on the outskirts so they wouldn't have to pay town taxes) is our walmart hahaha
The auditorium should be a gymnasium with indoor bleachers and basketball hoops when not being used for special events. They also should’ve had a “Pep Rally” special event for this venue
At 18:49 when you eyedrop a platform texture, the game always shows No Results Found. It’s a bug and once you press the platform icon, it will show you which texture was used
I was hoping to get the multiple choice lot type been addended to this new mega update we could make café/library or lounge/restaurant ... ooh well I am not complain 😅TY for the video J 🥰😍
Thank you so much James for doing such a thorough review of the world and the lots! I wasn’t able to watch the live stream today for very long and I feel like there was just so much distracting conversation that I couldn’t really take in what I wanted to see which was the world! I always appreciate what you do 💜💜
I love a loooot of things from this world, worlds in the sims 4 have come a long way, but one thing that made me laught is the parking lots. They made the disabled spot and I really really understand they wanted well, but the idea of them is that they are supposed to make going in a building easier, but that spot is the furthest from entry doors and additionaly you'll have to go through the whole parking with no space for pedestrians xD they wanted well but did it almost in the worst possible way
Thank you so much James for doing a very in-depth look around the world and also including your own opinion on things. No matter how long the videos are I'm always tuned in 😊
Thanks for the thorough review of the map and world. I agree that there should have been one lot next to the pier. That would be a great place for a restaurant or burger joint. I'm thinking that I might add a burger joint to the lot where that starter house is with the boards all around it. On the small starter house lot near the pier, I might try adding a lighthouse with a woohoo spot. If we can swim in those spots, can we sail or jet ski there?
25:56 looks like the house to the left on the boardwalk has a garage underneath that balcony? That and the decorative houses in that area with the staircases up to the buildings give such a realistic feel. The world building really has just been fantastic in recent years.
I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to do this! I always watch your and Clare Siobhans reviews to see if I want to buy it. This looks like a really cool addition with such a big world.
I love this pack, I’m glad xFREEZERBUNNYX is getting the hype he deserves. His builds are beyond awesome and he’s always coming up with game changing builds. Same with MsGryphi, I love all her work!
Remember, in the trailer, how there was a shack of some sort and it looked like the teens might go up there and hang out, is that in the world? Could that be the haunted house?
I love how the school is across a river so when the students grow old and become parents, they can tell their children they actually had to cross a river to get to school
Thanks for doing these videos James. I know they took a little time and it is appreciated. MsGryphi (who I follow also) has videos up showing her building of the starter homes in this pack.
I literally could hear the piano start to play when we got to the purple flower meadows 😂 there's no way that wasn't Twilight inspired. Also, has anyone ever seen the movie Problem Child 2? The minute I saw Teeter Rock that's all I could think of 😅 I hope someone makes a mod for the bleachers. They were prime Ditch Class and Make Out spots. Big miss for me!
looks like rental lot is the one to reinnovate for the family since the rest of them are so tiny. love that build so much, looks like nice place for shell challenge as well
The High school itself was very disappointing to see, I’ve gotten used to EA having actual players build the lots and it coming out absolutely amazing. Seeing the high school felt the same as when I saw that one build in Get Famous, the 64x64, very underwhelming and disappointing
The good news is you can customize it, or if you're like me, you can wait for talented simmers to make awesome builds and put them on the gallery for download. ;) Better to have the "default" be something all computers can run, but still allow customization for folks with beefier setups.
@@CoolPianist98 that was exactly what i was thinking! As a librarian, I find this small library to be very realistic. You wouldn't get the funding to run a large library in such a small town. Maybe they used to have it in a larger building, but with fewer people reading paper books and such, they cut funding and moved it to a smaller building tht used to be something else, like a bank? (the first library I worked in was moved to a building that used to be the bank) I think this library might be the most realistic library I've seen in the game so far actually, I can practically tell you its entire history just by looking at it. (They are now severely understaffed. There's two librarians, one of them has been there for what feels like a century and she now only works a few days a week to help out and because she loves her job, even though she should have retired. The other one is a young librarian pretty fresh out of university who begged the older one to stay on for at least one day a week because the new one is panicing and she doesn't feel like her education prepared her for running a library all on her own. She probably had to cut her own pay down to 80% to allow for the retired librarian to stay on 1 day a week, but it's worth it to her to have someone more experienced to learn from.)

What towns specifically? I find this very interesting. Would like to look them up.
Jesus. That quality drop between the first house and the second house almost knocked me out.
So happy MsGryphi is finally getting much deserved recognition, especially from my favorite youtuber! congrats Tonya! you deserve it!
so proud of freezerbunny! hope he gets to do more EA builds in future packs.
Her state builds are fascinating as someone not in America. I love that she includes facts as well
She does a lot of small home builds too so that houses on small lots are especially her forte!
"There's a frog right here, good to know" - James scouting the area for the next rags to riches (teens to riches? proms to riches?)
I wish the pier had a lot, it would make it easier to get there and I think it would make a great lot for building a little cafe
i love the small town vibes it’s reminding me of so many shows/movies like stranger things, riverdale and IT
it’s giving me so many gameplay storyline ideas i’m loving it!!!
My wish is that when you study at uni and choose the teacher career, you should be able to teach at a high school as an interactive career
Some came up with a great idea on lilsimsie's stream. They said you could click on work from home and then go to the highschool yourself. But I don't know if any students will be there. I'll have to try it out
@@CoolPianist98 Oh that's a great idea, yeah!
Another one!? Wow! Thank you SO much for getting these out so timely! You're my favorite Simmer for a reason! 😄
CallMeKevin has such an opportunity to create the most bizarre school. I imagine moving the white boards and desks around is going to really screw up the game
CMK CULT MEMBER!!
Jim Pickens as the principal that should be fired that everyone loves to hate.
All hail jim pickens!
@@bobymcgee or do we get another glimpse into Jim's past, where we see him as a teen wreaking havoc? plus then Dick Pickens can make a return.
God only knows what he'll do with this expansion.
This whole world and all the little quirks (like the student painted parking spaces some commenters mentioned) are just fascinating to me as a non-American. I'm excited to see what the gameplay is like, I'm gonna go straight to the next vid you have up!
I actually like all the small lots, I always feel pressured to fill in larger lots! I’m very excited for this to come out :)
i wish that the bubble tea store and thrift store could be separate lot assignments. maybe this pack couldve been an excuse to add a fusing mechanic where you can fuse some lot assignments together. a spa with a hot spring npc automatically use. a library-gym combo so the one in moonwood mill would have sims that automatically work out. a cafe that also works as a bowling alley due to it being part nightclub/lounge/bar. of course lots sims can own/live in wont work but all the others could
The "faculty parking lot" is actually the student lot, we decorated our parking spaces at my high school as seniors since many of us drove to school, it was so cool to see this in the game
OMGGG YES!!!!
Yes!!!
Thanks, James! Love your overview videos! These community builds are great! Excited for the LP!
The area with all the purple flowers gave me major twilight vibes! And yes I think it’s very reminiscent to Riverdale. I fully plan on having the Blossoms move in
I’m so impressed with how in detail you’re going with this overview, thank you for your hard work!!!
It would have been cool to even have a rabbit hole of “hang out under the bleachers”
I follow them too and so it's nice to see different people I love shout each other out like this ❤️❤️
This looks.. familiar... =D ty for making this video, it was a blast building for this pack
Great job!
Fantastic job with your lots! I loved them :D
That means Sims won’t known the triumphs and defeats, the epic highs and lows of high school football.
I’d love it if there was an interaction with the bleachers for the classic HS move “sneak under bleachers and make out,” 😁
This is so cool! I'm so excited for the new series! I hope you enjoy this new pack as much as we do James!
I literally just finished watching the other video. What a treat! Thank you
Gosh the highschool must've been an ea, it's so huge and empty... I get they always go for the bare minimum but dang they really don't know how to use space
I mean, they let it be fully customizable. So they built it with that in mind.
Yeah, on the trailer it looked so well decorated and the cafeteria looked really cozy but now it's just one big empty room with the cafetaria and 3 tables
@@danitho Yeah but some people don't want to spend time on re-customizing the school, they just want to play
It’s a bug and once you press the platform icon, it will show you which texture was used
I’ll try this out. I just wish they put in more residential lots. The last few worlds have only had 1-2!
Yea, sucks
I was hoping to get the multiple choice lot type been addended to this new mega update we could make café/library or lounge/restaurant ... ooh well I am not complain 😅TY for the video J 🥰😍
I feel like I can see James making a mental note as he goes around the world for a rags to riches LP and I am here for it.
No matter how long the videos are I'm always tuned in 😊
Every world is beautiful and lovely, well made
I hope there are more more lots in each world
You know what we want James lol, a build tour and a world tour in one day.
Mixing this with werewolf pack and world gives me twin peaks vibes. Totally what I’m here for
Prescott reminded me of the prescott family from life is strange and now I can't unsee the small town resemblances to what I remember from LiS.
I really wanna see someone build a Southern California type school, outdoor lunch area, portables, chain link fence
25:56 looks like the house to the left on the boardwalk has a garage underneath that balcony?
That and the decorative houses in that area with the staircases up to the buildings give such a realistic feel. The world building really has just been fantastic in recent years.
A very worthwhile overview of the world and all of the lots. Thanks.
The new world looks beautiful, looking forward to the pack. So happy that the sims community do a lot of the builds now too! :D
Oh my goood, the library is BREATHTAKING, it looks amazing!!! What a beautiful lot!!!
I bet the debug stuff for this pack is INSANE.
I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to do this! I always watch your and Clare Siobhans reviews to see if I want to buy it. This looks like a really cool addition with such a big world.
The Prescott lot is giving me Riverview vibes of that huge dishevelled, maze-like mansion up on the hill overlooking everything.
From what I can see for now, I think they made a brilliant job with this expansion, I already love it 😍
I'd really love to see you give the high school a full makeover further down the line. Loving all your videos, always!
No one:
_unreleased game:_ James Turnery ❤️❤️
I love this pack, I’m glad xFREEZERBUNNYX is getting the hype he deserves. His builds are beyond awesome and he’s always coming up with game changing builds. Same with MsGryphi, I love all her work!
Remember, in the trailer, how there was a shack of some sort and it looked like the teens might go up there and hang out, is that in the world? Could that be the haunted house?
I get massive life is strange 1 and 3 vibes
This was so great, really enjoyed your reaction, and sharing the world with us.
I love how the school is across a river so when the students grow old and become parents, they can tell their children they actually had to cross a river to get to school
I am just so excited for this pack! It looks so good and james has so many storyline options.
I'm actually in the process of planning a realistic high school to build on this lot, should be amazing, can't wait to start building it!
I get Grease vibes from all the Art Deco
I think that XFreezerBunnyX buils some of the lots, together with some other creators. I so love this pack, can't wait to start! :D
The minute I saw Teeter Rock that's all I could think of 😅
I hope someone makes a mod for the bleachers. They were prime Ditch Class and Make Out spots. Big miss for me!
Exactly~ I'm old and even in my small town the bleachers in HS is where everyone made out... or were up to something. lol
I am so damn hyped for that Ferris Wheel. I have a little story planned out.
looks like rental lot is the one to reinnovate for the family since the rest of them are so tiny. love that build so much, looks like nice place for shell challenge as well
The High school itself was very disappointing to see, I’ve gotten used to EA having actual players build the lots and it coming out absolutely amazing. Seeing the high school felt the same as when I saw that one build in Get Famous, the 64x64, very underwhelming and disappointing
The thrift store area is exactly modeled after the Warner Bros lot in LA where they filmed Pretty Little Liars and Gilmore Girls. 100%
I must say i'm a little disappointed how the school looks, on the trailer it looked so cool and well decorated, but now it seems pretty empty
It does need to run on low spec PCs so it's not a surprise to me
The good news is you can customize it, or if you're like me, you can wait for talented simmers to make awesome builds and put them on the gallery for download. ;) Better to have the "default" be something all computers can run, but still allow customization for folks with beefier setups.
Yeah, 2 classrooms...classic EA.
@@ddss7272 Ehh for how the school day functions, it makes sense to me. A bit weird, but I get why they did it
I have a high school build video coming soon!
Prescott and Price families in one neighbourhood. Is that supposed to be a reference for Life is Strange? Anyone else noticed that? :D
Thank you so much for making this video going into depth in Copperdale!
Normal people: "wow i can't wait to send my sim to class"
Me: 🌠🎸 *HELLFIRE CLUB HEADQUARTERS* 🎸🌠
Omg I hope we can set it as a club hangout
@@CoolPianist98 that was exactly what i was thinking! I'm literally shaking in trepidation because i want to give Eddie the future those two evil twins that wrote Stranger Things thought he didn't deserve, there's also lowkey THE perfect hairstyle/color for him, and i'm pretty sure people already created some S.T. CAS objects too
@@paolalums7791 there's a hair and a jacket in Werewolves that's almost identical to his.
They really created an authentic typical small American town. We don’t have little amusement parks but the rest is spot on.
