I just watched the Alan Freed bio pic and Morris was a snake whereas Freed did all he can to help popularize so many black artists back then including Franky
This is the E network I grew up with. I used to love watching Mysteries and Scandals. Frankie Lymon was a talented young man. It's a shame he lived such a troubled and short life.
I was in the Army in 66-69 and had a friend who served with Frankie at Ft. Gordon , Ga. He told me that in the barracks several nights, they would get a bottle of Scotch ever now and then and Frankie would sing for the soldiers. They all thought he was a great guy and great singer. I can remember his songs so well when I was a youngster and remember seeing him in a movie in the 50s.
Its sad bc he really needed guidance. He was a soul that needed someone to talk authority over his life. He needed a parent figure. He had to be in a lot of pain bc of all the drug use. Those kind of people are fragile, but essential to life. At least I believe. Rest well Frankie. You reached even us born in the 90s.
Frankie and the Teenagers are Such Inspiration especially to the Jackson 5 and Michael ❤️ you know his talent was an absolute inspiration. Rest in peace

I've read tons of books and talked to alot of people.i have never heard a good word about Morris levy.i was told by one singer that levy was so low he invented the limbo.
Dennis Minor it’s the business. They still getting robbed. When Tu Pac was killed he owed Suge 2 million according to the books. Ditty refused to pay Faith Evans biggies royalties. Tony Braxton got such low royalties off her fist few albums she had to file BK. The emotions were never paid their royalties for boogie wonderland because they signed as a part of EWF and EWF kept the $$$. Motown artists got robbed outside of Smokey, Marvin and Diana. Perfect hustle. Petey Green was right when he called Barry Gordy a pimp. The music business is more dirty and corrupt than the sex industry.
Yay found it! Part 2! I’ve heard Frankie’s recording when he was older and personally I think he could have been another smooth singer like Frank Sinatra or Nat King Cole his voice was mature and excellent.

Having public success before you're even done with puberty.... I can't think of a sharper double-edged sword. The public wants you to be ageless and maintain the cuteness of a kid... When you're transformed into an adult, unless you're drop-dead gorgeous, it's going to be damn hard maintaining celebrity as a relevant and successful star. And that's precisely the seat of depression for so many former 'child stars' .... They ultimately transform into normal everyday people. And they learn the key to their success had an expiration date. That must be heartbreaking!

Anna Brown We are aware of who are responsible for introducing drugs into Black communities and the entertainment business. Drugs and various forms to distract Black entertainers to steal hundreds or more of monies and claiming the fortunes for their white greedy lustful desires and their families. Old Monies. ....
Of course I may not know much about yesterday but it all applies the Same many singers or performers were given drugs by managers, people in music industry, “friends"...and sadly got addicted while those measles smile all the way to the bank. Sure they rip off black musician so badly too. Song writers never given rights or money to they own songs, songs taken from blacks groups and given to white groups, look they always did us badly. But he was so young even to be involved in drugs...I felt managers or whatever got him hook so young and basically took his royalties and money. Died black and broke.
Yes it happened to many. not just young black musicians. It still happens today. most up and coming entertainers go to school for business management which also includes entertainment management. so sad to see some one so young die. especially some one as special as he was. He made his first mistake when he left the group. all down hill from there.
what they did to Frankie was a shame, but with Elvis they did it legally, with a Dr. who gave him Rx's and the same with Michael Jackson....just those 3 was such a loss. When does it stop...fast forward to 2015 and it still happens. I loved Frankie's music. Such a gr8 voice, at least we can still hear his songs and travel back in time...PTL
Knew Zola very well, when I was commissioned to take backstage photos of the Platters at the Paramount Theater in 1957. Unlike the many accolades for Frankie, he was an absolute A+++++E!
His adult voice was terrible are you kidding me?! Did they not here sea breeze or I’m sorry but whatever this documentary was good Frankie’s story was sad a young child being shown drugs and he uses him which killed him it really makes me sad and upset R.I.P Frankie Lymon
They ripped a lot of people in the music industry. Leonard Chess and his brother comes to my mind. They were in Chicago. The same thing happened to Jackie Wilson, he got ripped off by his managers that were Jewish.
White people will always be ripping us of our shit. We gotta learn to own our shit. Lock stock and barrel. Even though oprah is a snake. She owns everything just like Tyler Perry.
@ Justin Wilson I dont know about his parents,so don't be telling me who not to blaim,I blaim whoever I want to to ok,so don't go there, and honey he was drinking and doing drugs before 16,that's a fact, and I remember in another documentary on Frankie that he was very close to his mother and that his father lefted the family,I forgot about that.so yes I can definitely blaim his father now.people should make children and abandon them its not right 👉 god made them
You said you didn't know about his parents! Then You said you "watched a document" about his parents!?? Wtf. And "Honey" he didn't start drugs MEANING heroin until the age of 16. And I repeat you can't blame his mom. If your going to reply to me then @ me okay!?
one of the most underrated talents of all time

Amen yes he was.
Just came here from watching Why do fools fall in love on Netflix.
Great movie from the 90s❤
Frankie never lost his voice, he just hit puberty and grew up so his voice matured and sounded even more amazing
I heard some of those tracks...his voice sounded tired, but wasn't awful.
They could've worked with him as he got older to help him be more successful like the guy said Frankie could've been the next Sammy Davis Jr.
He lost his voice the mf drugs took it away wtf are you talking about 🤔🤔🤔
@@budlight6665 have you listened to Seabreeze, I put the bomb etc., all on TH-cam drugs never took his voice

Morris Levy was a crook
Yeah
I just watched the Alan Freed bio pic and Morris was a snake whereas Freed did all he can to help popularize so many black artists back then including Franky
I wish when they do biopics they would just tell the real story and stop deciding what we should see
WELL SAID... I FEEL THE SAME WHY
Yeah they have to do another Frankie Lymon story

Drugs and various forms to distract Black entertainers to steal hundreds or more of monies and claiming the fortunes for their white greedy lustful desires and their families. Old Monies. ....
It will get you every time
His life was so tragic 😞 the movie made a comedy out of it which is extra sad because it was no laughing matter.
Wow really? I never watched it smh.
It didn't seem funny its more sad than anything
@@rayofsunshan not even it was sad see all his wives tellin their story / Version of him atleast to me
@@naloburns9222 It’s funny you say that because I stopped watching it about mid way for this exact reason when I finally saw it was showing on TV.
Sad story 😢 R.I.P. Frankie Limon
8:46 - I've been searching for this song for almost 10 years! It is "Late Cole Train" by Ronnie Asprey. Somewhat obscure jazz but it sizzles.
Yes I had it on my JazzysClassicJazz channel but I removed that channel from TH-cam
Of course I may not know much about yesterday but it all applies the
Same many singers or performers were given drugs by managers, people in music industry, “friends"...and sadly got addicted while those measles smile all the way to the bank.
Dam, everybody comes out the cracks like roaches, when it comes to getting paid
what they did to Frankie was a shame, but with Elvis they did it legally, with a Dr. who gave him Rx's and the same with Michael Jackson....just those 3 was such a loss. When does it stop...fast forward to 2015 and it still happens. I loved Frankie's music. Such a gr8 voice, at least we can still hear his songs and travel back in time...PTL
The remaining Teenager was not honest. Frankie never lost his voice. Songs like Seabreeze and I'm sorry are beautiful.
Knew Zola very well, when I was commissioned to take backstage photos of the Platters at the Paramount Theater in 1957. Unlike the many accolades for Frankie, he was an absolute A+++++E!
You knew Zola
Dominique Jennings Yea - thats what he said "Knew Zola well."
Ok
What Zola Was not a go where you get that from
ELPIOJOBOLUDO How do you mow that? At least, I wrote based on, personal experience.
18 months is the magic number for showbiz 6+6+6=18.. Just saying..
Leopold Maysonet yup
Why do fools fall in love
What love got to do with it
Vivian Fox thinks because she played a part she knows what he was doing? And why he screwed around? Crap
She spoke to enough people to speak with credibility.....not crap at all.
The woman speaking is not Vivica Fox, she is the screenwriter for his biopic.
Shaleena Abron Were not talking about the screenwriter. You didn't see Miss Fox on here? Look again.
my childhood movie
I've been in love with Tina Andrews since I first saw her on good times and Sanford and son
REN MACHIEVELLI WUT ROLL DID SHE PLAY
@@cadillacsfashions9747She played Fred Sanford's niece on Sanford and Son. She played JJ's girlfriend, Henrietta on Good Times.
Her 1st tv appearance was in a episode of the Brady Bunch
His adult voice was terrible are you kidding me?! Did they not here sea breeze or I’m sorry but whatever this documentary was good Frankie’s story was sad a young child being shown drugs and he uses him which killed him it really makes me sad and upset R.I.P Frankie Lymon
This reminds me of nwa the whole crew got rob by a jewish guy
They ripped a lot of people in the music industry. Leonard Chess and his brother comes to my mind. They were in Chicago. The same thing happened to Jackie Wilson, he got ripped off by his managers that were Jewish.
Lyndia Black i 100 % agree with u peace
@@amanishakur3192 that's terrible. So sad .
White people will always be ripping us of our shit. We gotta learn to own our shit. Lock stock and barrel. Even though oprah is a snake. She owns everything just like Tyler Perry.
All I wanna know where was his mother and father at that young age not looking out for their child
I have the movie the ending is alittle different from what it is on here just alittle but he was indeed a wonderful singer may he RIP
He started on drugs when he was of age and going on the road on his own he was a small guy so he look like a kid he died at 26
Very sad....
