    I think CJ Stroud is going to be the best of the 2023 bunch. One assumes that Ohio State quarterbacks have it far too easy due to the insane amount of talent that is generally surrounding them. That it’s just a member of “point and click” for quarterbacks. The same is often said about Alabama quarterbacks.

    I love watching Stroud clips. I often try to find Aaron Rodgers flaws (Packer fan here) and keep noticing Rodgers not wanting to go to the middle. He made a career out of the sideline back shoulder throw and was OK with following Adams due to Adams incredible ability. However, this past season, where developing communication with receivers was a clear need he seems to not have the confidence (or ability) in seeing the middle guy. It looks to me like Stroud, another of those accurate passes, may be able to achieve it. At least it will be interesting to watch him in the NFL. I would pick him if I were GM.

  • @t4d0W
    @t4d0W ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I like the 'more athletic Jared Goff' projection. Could crush it in structure with the right weapons and O-line around him (will be challenge wherever he ends up in). But ultimately the team will look for him to improve his reads pre/post snap and the consistency of his accuracy. Along with hopefully utilizing the strengths for passing in between the hashes and being able to drop a pretty deep ball. That said he will only realize that potential as good as he can with a team that believes in building the offense around him.

Fields and Stroud were levels ahead of past Buckeye QBs, and the offense and production reflected that. Used to be hard nose rushing attack with the ability to throw it over you. Now they completely dismantle every defense they come across.

    I'm not a huge prospect analyst, I would just say I'm more objective than a good amount of people, and was pretty hard on CJ Stroud for 99% of his career. But after the Georgia game, he skyrocketed towards my QB2, and in a perfect world where Stroud and Young went to perfect situations, I would prefer Stroud. He does indeed have that DAWG in him, and DAWG calculator > tape research

    The first issue you noted with CJ is why as a Texans why I’d be willing to trade to 1 for Bryce Young. Young is insanely calm in the pocket. I’m worried stroud with the Texans OL and skill players won’t be a good fit, while Bryce young will be able to navigate the Texans weaknesses. Stroud just seems like a better fit for a more talented team. I think if CJ stroud was at a random mid level program like an Iowa State or Stanford he wouldn’t be as highly regarded. This video further separated stroud and young for me.

    That wheel route on Norte Dame was a wheel rout then the receiver did a curl come back to the side line. If Strout would of throw that pass deep the receiver was not going deep. Strout remine me of Joe Montana when he played at Norte Dame always cool in the pocket moves around waiting to throw where the receiver needs to be. The Raiders need a QB like to see Strout Start next season for the Silver and Black.

    Watched every OSU game from the past 2 years. CJ Stroud has the talent to be the best qb in the league and he is the calmest player I've ever seen on the field. But he doesn't take those easy 2-4 yard runs and tends to stay in the pocket too long. Also he benefitted from a monster OL in front of him. He is absolutely deserving of being the QB1 in the draft if it happens

    One thing I don't think people account for Is that role that Egbuka #2 is playing was supposed to be JSN. The whole off season Stroud worked with JSN as that underneath guy, and for him to get injured and Egbuka to replace that role took some time. It's evident by the first 2 clips shown where there was some hesitation. I would argue Egbuka is a little quicker and would get to the spot earlier then what he was used to. Ryan Day came out and said that the whole offense in the offseason was predicated around JSN. No one wants to talk about losing the #1 WR in the country week 1 and still putting up outstanding numbers because he had MHJ.

    • @bryanlutz7950

      @t4d0W ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Disagree. Herbert I think was a tough read back in Oregon because as much as you could believe his gifts, you also had to accept Oregon had no real pass attack to exploit his gifts with. But in terms of everything to play pocket QB, he had at a very high base line level already along with the arm talent. Top O-line doesn't really matter when the payoff they scheme him for that is... screen passes. Just like how Joe Lombardi gave it to him too in the pros.

    Only qbs I’m spending a first rounder on is stroud and young. Levis is too much projection at the next level. Same with Richardson and some running qbs can never really throw. Still haven’t seen a running team win a championship. Even tho they can. How sustainable is it.

    • @spursdynasty7378
      @spursdynasty7378 ปีที่แล้ว

      Levi’s and Richardson have the potential to be the next Trubisky if they are drafted by the wrong team. Playing either one right away would be a big mistake. I think going to a team that can exploit their strengths and runs the right scheme would be beneficial to their long term development. Richardson is really raw but can become a good qb in three to 4 years. He did put up a lot of terrible stats in too many games. I wouldn’t draft him till the 3rd round but you know that won’t happen ! Same for Levi’s but he has experience playing in a pro offense. He will still have to sit a year or more as well.

    carolina gonna mess it up somehow and not draft CJ, Bryce, or Richardson. I got a feeling this QB class is gonna have two HoF dudes, and maybe one of em isn't a 1st rounder. Just hoping Panthers don't get "smart" and just pick a QB at 1.

      @jacksonklark6119 ปีที่แล้ว

      @jacobbell1934 I hav8said anything about the roster or scheme yet and Flores is bridging a new scheme and the offense was good last year I do see a world where stroud like 90% of kirk even though he's a worse passer since he'll be more mobile and extra help with that 30 mill kirk will presumably free up

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jacobbell1934 LOL replacing Cousins wouldn't be a full rebuild. If you could get a QB whose got his ability to read pre/post snap, get rid of the ball fast AND be mobile, that is a FULL upgrade from Cousins with the same offense he was playing with this season under KOC's scheme. The only thing to really upgrade is the O-line which outside of O'Neill and a healthy Darrisaw, everyone can be upgraded.
