    Last time you said Richardson to the lions the lions fans weren't happy. I thought at the time and now think even more that that would be such a good pick for the future of the lions franchise. That would be the spot best for AR 15 and I think with the lions, he could be a top 5 QB after a year or 2 of sitting.

    AR15 to the Lions is my favorite potential draft pick ever. Honestly at this point, my dream draft for them would Richardson at 6, and then maybe even O’Cyrus Torrence at 18, and then go defense the rest of the way. I love the idea of continuing to build an elite offensive line around a QB like Richardson. However I’d also be okay with them going edge or CB at 18 too.
    But Richardson in Detroit would be freaking unbelievable to me.

    Jalen Carter falling to five would be incredible luck for Seattle, but regardless of what happens, Richardson isn't falling past the 6th spot. Seattle and Detroit have an identical level of flexability at the QB spot and it would make perfect sense for either of them to grab him and redshirt him for a year.

    Seattle isnt taking Carter. John and Pete have said multiple times this off-season that character has become a key component to their drafts. The last thing they want is a guy with character concerns at 5 overall. John Schneider LOVES big athletic QBs with big arms. Seattle has no qb's currently signed and 19 million left in effective cap space. Wonder what route they're taking at 5....

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W ปีที่แล้ว

      Considering Geno is on the hook for at minimum 3 years with his new contract. Seahawks move on from him at 35 and Pete is confident with his staff that he can/will get Richardson properly coached up. Also Waldron's system is easy enough that Geno feasted off being able to read defenses in structure and make the decision to extend with his legs if he could. I feel Pete could get AR to that point along with the arm before he gives him his fifth year option.

  • @Taprman
    @Taprman ปีที่แล้ว +18

    As a lions fan you really hit the nail on the head with the picks and explanation. Free agency is full of defensive options and we have the cap space/maneuverability to sign a few of them

    • @nolanzeigler3781
      @nolanzeigler3781 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      When has Brad Holmes every spent a big money for a FA? Multiple times the Detroit FO has said Goff is their guy and will support him. Goff is what 27/28. Drafting AR makes sense but at the same time it is not a need. A top CB makes more sense to me.

    • @nolanzeigler3781

    Myles Murphy to the falcons makes too much sense to me. Falcons need edge and want size there, value Georgia natives, and his personality fits their culture from what I could tell in the interviews. Maybe they could trade back and still get him

  • @leemuzikfrea90
    @leemuzikfrea90 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    No way Seahawks let Richardson pass them by. Pete Carroll/John Schneider value high character both on and off the field; they weren’t set on Jalen Carter before his incident. They’re completely turned off from him now.
    Geno smith is also reportedly asking for $40 million, way too high. Even franchise tag of 32 mil sets them in a hole where they have no flexibility to gain in free agency. Have to realistically drop to 18-22 to have any chance, or the Hawks will move on. Ideally, get Geno in low 20, then draft QB to carry the transition in a couple years

  • @wpl8275
    @wpl8275 ปีที่แล้ว

    For the Lions, it's more important that they continue to get better on defense right now. If they can pick Richardson and do that as well then I'm all for it. But they have to find a way to get better so they can get to a Super Bowl first before they worry about winning one. And the strengths of this draft are DB's, RB's and TE's. They should be getting at least 2 CB's, 1 S and 1 DT. So that means if they get Richardson at #6, they have to get a CB or a DT at #18. Then they have to fill in those other 3 slots in the 2nd and third round. Those would come at 48, 55 and 81. Then in their final 3 picks they need a LB, RB and OG. Whatever holes they haven't filled in by then they will have to fill with free agents.

    @joshuahartshorn411 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’ll be real at this point.. If I’m Seattle, I go with Anthony Richardson at 5.
    Richardson has mentioned that he clicked with Seattle during their interview process, plus as much as I think Carter is a great player - We’ve banked on guys in the past to get their stuff together and it didn’t work for us in the past.
    Draft your QB of the future, let him learn under Geno who is the perfect teacher for a backup considering he knows full well what it’s like to not only have those expectations on him but also can help A-Rich not lose confidence when he makes mistakes; address the DL with their other 1st Round Pick and maybe even their early 2nd Rounder from Denver.

    @masondail3631 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I understand why people think the Seahawk’s front office is still willing to take chances on players with character concerns, but since the Malik McDowell pick that just hasn’t been the case. If you watch Carrol or Schneider interviews from the last few years, it’s clear that character evaluation has become a big priority for them. As a Seahawk fan, I’m not only confident they won’t take him at #5, I’d bet good money he’s off their board entirely. Still, love the draft content & keep up the good work! 👍

    Milton Williams is heading into year 3, not year 4, and is still just 23 years old. But I still love that pick at 31 for the Eagles. I just love the idea of continuing to build out the most athletic interior D-line of all time. The thought of lining up Jordan Davis at the nose with Adewaroe and Milton Williams on each side of him… that’s just mouth watering to me.
    So yeah, I still believe strongly in Milton Williams but I’d love that pick anyways. The interior versatility alone would be worth it.

  • @aaronbostrom9382
    @aaronbostrom9382 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Totally agree that Richardson would be great for the lions. But for the same reasons, he would be great for the Seahawks a pick earlier. For one, Goff had shown way more over the years that he can be a consistent starter than Geno, who isn’t even under contract. Second, the Seahawks place a ton of value in character lately, and carter has serious issues, both legal but also on the football field. He doesn’t work on his game and conditioning nearly as much as he should. Third, John Schneider had a great eye for QBs and is always ready to take one. He drafted Russ right after they signed Matt Flynn for decent money. He offered the browns Russ for the first pick to draft josh Allen. He also was planning to take mahomes if he fell that year. There’s no way they’re taking jalen carter at all, let alone when a qb with elite upside and traits is on the board.

    Still think Jalen Carter should go top 3 but majority of Nfl teams don’t want to be in the headlines for drafting the type of drama into their organization
    So with that, if Carter falls

    2. Texans- Bryce Young
    3. Commanders (via AZ)- Anthony Richardson
    4. Colts- CJ Stroud
    5. Seahawks- Tyree Wilson
    17. Cardinals- Jalen Carter
    Or, if Carter stays valued
    1. Colts (via CHI)- CJ Stroud
    2. Texans- Bryce Young
    3. Cardinals- Will Anderson
    4. Bears (via IND)- Jalen Carter

    Lions fans don't want Richardson for a very simple reason: the offense was one of the best in the NFL last year. The picks are more valuable on defense.

    As a Vikings fan, I'm curious. It's pretty obvious our defense needs players at all levels and our draft capital is light this year. So I understand trading back... But is it worth it to pass on all those DT's that went after #24? Why not have the Vikings draft Breese or Kancey?

    26:24 i don’t have a problem with this pick. hell, taking a dude who’s been a freak of nature on the field since he was in high school isn’t a bad idea. i just don’t imagine the steelers doing that though. if they got joey porter at 17 and then traded their 32nd pick to the vikings for their 24th pick. i think the steelers go ahead and take jordan addison and pair him back up with kenny.

    • @aidanfleming2856
      @aidanfleming2856 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don’t think he does though. Would you say Goff holds them back more than the defense? Goff did go to the super bowl with a worse offense and much better defense. If the lions gained even a league average defense, they’re immediately contenders. I don’t even hate the pick, but the 6th pick with a defense as bad as Detroit shouldn’t be treated like a Hail Mary. This is a franchise-saving pick. If you really want to move on, wait until next year and sell out for Drake Maye who is the best prospect between this class and the next.

    • @restlessGuy69
      @restlessGuy69 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aidanfleming2856 that’s what I’m saying man, the lions taking AR at the 6th overall pick instead of someone that can help on defense would be a dumb move. I get that Richardson could, potentially, boost the offense but with the defense they have it will be worse than it already is
