The Tomei headers come with the upipe because the collector flange is 3 bolt instead of the stock 2 bolt as seen in the video. If your grimmspeed EWG uppipe is 3 bolt, it will work. If it's two bolt, you'll need a grimmspeed 3 bolt EWG upipe. (See link below) www.grimmspeed.com/ewg-up-pipe-w-tube-3-bolt-inlet-38-40mm-v-band-wrx-sti-lgt-fxt/ But unfortunately, due to this COVID BS it's hard to aquire currently.
@@botbs I've left the headers in thier current state and have been watching the areas that were flaking off. So far they haven't spread and its just isolated spots. So the next time my car is at the tuner getting work done, I'll have them recoated. Since the coating has a lifetime warranty on it. It seems the chroming/polishing the headers comes with from the factory makes it close to impossible to coat. Proper grinding off of the coating is hard due to thinner pipe walls.
@@Mikey6048 Thanks for your feedback! I really like the Tomei header because of the expansion joint. I guess I might have to get something else as I really want to coat the header instead of wrapping it.
1. Keeping engine bay heat under control. Since these don't come with heat shields. 2. Corrosion prevention to keep them protected for as long as possible. 3.Ceramic coating your headers also, theoretically, help with exhaust scavenging. Which is beneficial on turbo cars to a minimal degree before boost kicks in.
I plan on doing EXACTLY this, BEFORE I install my entire exhaust (just have the Cobb CBE right now) and the down pipe. Just better peace of mind.
Good luck with your ceramic coating. I haven't looked to see if mine is flaking off yet, again.
@@Mikey6048 thanks man
The pigeon though 😆
I felt the sped up Video needed something the make it less boring. This video is quite dry as it is.
Does the front plastic splash guard work with the tomei headers?
Sorry I missed this comment. TH-cam notifications have been broken.
Yes it fits perfectly under the splash guard.
@@Mikey6048 No worries, thanks for the answer!
I miss your White Knight ford probe!!
People in the know don't speak of this. It was banished to never be spoken of again. Lol
Question sir , do I have to use the tomei uppipe to make it fit? I have grimmspeed ewg but I saw this headers come this the uppipe ?

Update as of July 25th. The headers are already flaking off. I highly recommend NOT ceramic coating these particular headers.
What's your plan next? I was planning to get the exact same header and coat it. Thanks for letting us know and now I have to change my plan.

@@botbs If you can spot the cost. Killer B is what I would get.
@@Mikey6048 What HP/TRQ increase did you see with them?
So what is the reason for ceramic coating your headers?
