  • If a reverse osmosis water drinking system has any issues that may lead to a leak, the problem will make itself visible within the first 24 hours. It is essential that all new buyers of a drinking system that is hooked up to your water line keep an eye on the system for leaks. Most of the leaks that occur will be minor in flow, normally a slow drip. If in case you do see a leak, there are 3 things you want to do: 1) turn of the main water supply feeding the RO system, 2) close the reservoir tank holding the water, 3) open the RO faucet to relieve any final pressure.
Then contact your local water dealer to ensure the problem is appropriately solved.

Let us know where your system is leaking and we can work on a video for it. Priority after detecting a leak is turning off the water supply to prevent water damage, and then contacting a water treatment professional to inspect the system and filters.

Me too. I have a Smith two-stage row unit that is leaking below the sink

@franksturgeon2358 most of the leaks are caused by bad o-rings/gaskets. It could also be defective cartridges. Priority is always to stop the leak and then contact a water treatment professional to inspect all of the parts of the water system.

This video was made three years ago yet the responses here are from 2024. (Apart from Mr Garcia who graciously monitors his video and takes the trouble to reply)
Funny all of us are experiencing leaks at around the same time. Do you think there could be a limited "life" for these units?

Where can you buy those special shut-off valves? Both for the tank and the water line to the filter? I only have a T-connector and no shut-off valve for the RO water line only. Also, I have no shut-off valve for my tank either. I have serious condensation on the tank line and now I have a lot of water damage and mold.

You can find the angle stop adaptor for the water feed to the RO at Home Depot or Lowes. The tank shut off valve is not commonly carried at local hardware stores but you should be able to easily find it online.
