    How do I know if water is in the side bin with salt

    • @garciawatercare
      @garciawatercare วันที่ผ่านมา

      @frankieg8908 great question! The white tube inside the brine tank (salt tank) has a white lid cover that can be removed. When you remove that white lid, you will be able to peak inside and not only get a great view of the floating valve assembly, but you will also see where the water level is at. For most Puronics water softeners, the setting are set to PRE-FILL, meaning that the water level in the brine tank only rises right before a regen cycle. This means that 95% of the time the water level should be very low, normally a few inches from the bottom. If the level is ever above half way of the brine tank (and it is not in the regen mode) then that is an indicator of a possible problem within the water softener.

      @wallytostado85 Yes, definitely. And kudos to you doing your research. The system showed here is PURONICS MICROMAX7000. It is a water purifier that uses not only reverse osmosis technology but also has built in ultra filtration, producing a very pure water product (I commonly test it under 10ppm TDS for you water nerds) and also an incredible taste. It's fully certified & tested and Gold seal approved through the Water Quality Association. Check link: find.wqa.org/find-products/ctl/detail/mid/1054/cid/franklin_water_treat/sid/1/keyword/micromax This drinking system has 3 filters that need routine replacements, the pre and post filters(sediment filter and carbon block) typically changed at the same time, with the RO membrane lasting almost double the time..always good to have the water tested out and ensure to follow manufacturer guidelines. The Puronics MICROMAX8500 is the latest and greatest in water tech filtration, fully certified on the reduction of PFA's. Since these purifiers remove all harmful substances AS WELL AS helpful minerals, many have chosen to invest in the PUR Alkaline re-mineralizer alkaline kit, a product that will not only increase the pH of the water, but also limit the impact on the taste of the water (cheap alkaline kits simply don't taste good nor last very long). In addition, this Puronics Alkaline Kit has been tested to last about 2 years for a standard household usage. Hope this helps with your research. Let me know if you have any specific questions I can help with.

      Yes of course. Most homes are still not prepped for water softeners, so you want to make sure you hire a professional to make sure it gets installed correctly. Most plumbers can connect the water softener, but may be unaware of how to turn it on or how to configure it. Best bet is to look for a water treatment dealer locally- they normally have certified installers either in-house or work with certified plumbers.

    • @garciawatercare

      @simonvaldez5942 it is SUPER important to have all pipes properly insulated. Unfortunately, some water softener businesses either don't use certified installers or take short-cuts with the installation to save a buck and then things like busted pipes or water leaks start showing up. Always do your research and ask questions about the installation process when looking into which company to choose. Also verify the warranty and support provided by the company- make sure to have that in writing...it can save you some headaches later.

    is it necessary to remove 100% of calcium and magnesium from the water? These minerals are also required to be taken for human body isn't it? if all these minerals are replaced with salt, there is no concerns in drinking this water without minerals only the salt? this water is suitable to use in ionizer machines?

    • @garciawatercare
      @garciawatercare 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most water softeners are designed to take out almost all of the calcium and magnesium from your water. There are some softeners that have a control valve where you can allow a mixture of soft and hard water if you desire that. Either way, most of our nutrients come from our food diet- we highly recommend talking to a doctor or nutritionist to help out with that. In regards to the calcium ions that are replaced with sodium ions- the amount of salt in the water is very minimal, it can be compared with what you would find in a piece of bread (if you consume the recommended amount of water daily). And yes, this is recommended to use for an ionizer machine, since there are still a good amount of other minerals that it can use to manipulate the pH of the water.

  • @aranzzamx
    @aranzzamx 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I see your system filters and softener the water using pellets salt. Is the water coming out from the system good to use with an ionizer machine like Kangen? I'm concerned about the the filtration process used ( ion exchange, Calcium, Mag, are substituted with sodium ions) Could it be so high in salt that may affect the ionizer or quality water ?

    • @garciawatercare
      @garciawatercare 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Using a water softener that employs ion exchange before an ionizer machine like Kangen can have implications for the water quality and the functioning of the ionizer. In ion exchange water softeners, minerals like calcium and magnesium are typically replaced with sodium ions. This process reduces water hardness, which is beneficial for preventing scale buildup in plumbing and appliances. However, introducing softened water to an ionizer, such as a Kangen machine, has a few considerations: Sodium Content: The softened water will have higher sodium content. While the increase in sodium is generally modest and not a health concern for most individuals, it might affect the taste of the water and potentially impact the ionization process. Effectiveness of Ionizer: Ionizers are designed to work with certain mineral compositions. Softened water, having a different mineral profile (lower in calcium and magnesium, higher in sodium), might affect the ionization efficiency or the quality of the ionized water. Maintenance and Longevity: The altered mineral content in softened water could potentially impact the maintenance needs or longevity of the ionizer machine. It's important to consult the manufacturer's guidelines to understand if softened water is appropriate for use with their equipment. Water Quality and Health Implications: If you are concerned about the sodium intake from softened water, especially when used with an ionizer, it's important to consider dietary sodium restrictions or health implications. Some people opt for a potassium chloride-based softener instead of sodium chloride to avoid this issue. In summary, while using softened water in an ionizer like Kangen is technically feasible, it's important to consider the changes in mineral content and how this might affect the performance and maintenance of the ionizer, as well as the taste and health implications of the altered sodium content. It's advisable to consult with the ionizer manufacturer and possibly test the water quality before and after ionization to ensure it meets your needs and standards.

      Sulfates can be a problem, especially when interacting with Magnesium - it tends to produce a bad smell in the water. Normally you find this in well water. The next step is to have your water tested through a lab to get a complete breakdown of the chemistry in your water to ensure you are treating your water correctly. Please send the water report to Joshua.garcia@garciawatercare.com with your contact info and I can send you some recommendations. Thanks!

    It is so stupid to mix different types of water treatment into one container. Carbon should come before salt. And so Should any other filter you want so you actually service the filters one by one.

    Add carbon filtration upstream of traditional softener. Done. This should be standard and easily servicable vs carbon built into the vessel.

      Excellent suggestion! There are multiple ways to treat your water. A carbon prefilter would help not only with chlorine but also with other disinfection byproducts associated with municipal water. Most of these filters need to be changed out every 6-12 months (heavily dependant on usage on water quality) vs carbon media inside the mineral tank that could last 5-20 years before needing to be replaced (since the mineral tank regenerates and backwashes the carbon periodically vs no backwashing on a upstream carbon filter). With a variety of options available, we consider every situation with its unique water needs and provide the best option for the customer. Again, we appreciate you sharing helpful info!

    Hello All, my 1/2 drainage copper pipe seems to have a plug inside, how normally that is removed? I think that is going to the laundry area on a open pvc pipe for an air gap. Please help! Thanks.

      There are multiple factors that could be causing the issue. We would recommend contacting a local, certified plumbing company to assist on the matter.

    My system says “filter” on the screen. What does this mean? And how do I take care of it?

    • @garciawatercare
      @garciawatercare ปีที่แล้ว

      If your softener has filtration capabilities, the screen may show "Filter" on there, depending on the configurations. Nothing to worry about. Keep an eye out for "Call for Service" or "Service Error code xxx" (the "xxx" being a series of numbers..for example: "Error Code 205")- this normally indicates a problem or issue requiring a certified tech to go investigate.

    What kind of alkaline filter is it ? is it synthetic or natural minerals?

    • @garciawatercare
      @garciawatercare ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! There are two primary types of alkaline filters used in remineralizing reverse osmosis water systems: synthetic and natural mineral filters. Let's take a closer look at each type: Synthetic mineral filters: These filters use a blend of synthetic compounds to raise the pH level and add essential minerals back into the water. They often include materials such as calcium carbonate and magnesium oxide, which help increase the alkalinity and provide essential minerals to the water. Synthetic filters effectively adjust the water's pH and improve its taste, but they may not offer as wide a range of trace minerals as natural mineral filters. Natural mineral filters: These filters use natural mineral sources, such as mineral stones or mineral-rich media, to raise the pH level and reintroduce beneficial minerals into the water. The minerals are released into the water as it flows through the filter, resulting in a more balanced mineral content and a higher pH level. Natural mineral filters often provide a broader range of trace minerals, including calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium. Many believe that natural mineral filters produce water with a more pleasant taste and higher quality. When choosing a remineralizing reverse osmosis water system, it's essential to consider your personal preferences and needs. For example, both synthetic and natural mineral filters can effectively increase the water's alkalinity and improve its taste, but natural filters may offer a more comprehensive range of trace minerals. The Pur Alkaline filter is a natural filter. Ultimately, the choice between synthetic and natural mineral filters will depend on factors such as your budget, desired mineral content, and taste preferences.

      Sorry to hear about your family as well as the lack of support! All water treatment systems need routine check-ups and maintenance or they could cause some major problems and headaches. These systems have certified ratings specific for high efficiency when it comes to salt usage. It definitely sounds like your system was malfunctioning.
