I totally believe in you being able to find these cars.
I told you some videos ago I wanted to get a car, and I actually found a "get-rid-of" listing.
Story being: Guy had traded his boat for some money and a car. He didn't need an extra car and just wanted the rest of the money for what his boat was worth.
So I got an Audi 8J in good condition at a crazy price. 😄
These kinds of offers can't be found by "search by cheapest" any time of the week. Listings sell over the phone with posts like yours, or they are only listed for a few hours before being gone. I was searching for multiple models, multiple weeks & multiple times a day. ✌

    • @JohnnyGetsCash
      @JohnnyGetsCash  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Exactly this! It's always a case of having your 'radar' on at all times and being ready to strike. That's awesome work on the Audi BTW, i hope you ring the bell with it.

Ford did a recall on the Focus binnacles in the mid 2000s and fitted brand new ones for free, unfortunately, they put the clocks in with 00000 displayed.

This did cross my mind as to why the seller didn’t know the true mileage. But not all bad. Obv these clusters are a common issue and some choose a replacement over a repair and the mileage as we see here is stored in the cluster itself.

88k in 20 years in a Focus is still very low mileage, especially in the uk.
Even in Ireland, you’d expect a 20 year old Focus to be somewhere between 150 and 200k miles. That’s a great start and you certainly should be able to make a profit on it.
With the Chinese economy teetering on the brink, scrap value is taking a hit and don’t be surprised if we end up back in the situation where you have to pay to leave a car in the scrap yard, but right now any car that drives is still making silly money over here. Almost nothing less than €500 regardless of age or condition. Given our bumpy roads, suspension and wheel bearing issues are common and hidden rust is also back in a big way.
So, it’s quite easy to buy a respectable looking car for €1000, spend another €1000 on getting it through a test and end up with a respectable looking car that struggles to make €1800 on resale.
It’s refreshing to see someone making a success of it.

Cool Video, So you paid £200.
Owned an MGF se (one of 500 limited edition)
MOT every year I owned it, My car had suspension fail The last MOT I bit the bullet had it repaired which I felt cost me £635.
When the car suspension went on opposite side and other annoying gremlins I called a recovery guy which turned out to be scrap car guy too..
Basically I let him have car for FREE..
For a few years I felt sad because I loved my MGF se it was fun to drive it actually nearly killed me after one of its mots brake disc separated loss of brakes.
Its my second MGF I have scrapped, £110 for my previous one with full documented service history. Got a drivers window put through and on the drive to Walsall it drove lovely I had new window and I noticed tyre was worn inside so replaced that. Drove around another 50 miles and I wasn't comfortable I pulled into Coventry and it resided there for a few weeks before being collected by "welovemgfs" who really said it was uneconomical repair It would have been a restores dream 1997 standard mgf with dull cloth interior paintwork that lost its lacquer peel.
But plenty of reasonable Tahiti panels available.
I find I can buy cars easily enough and because my health issues I have owned a Astra Bertone convertible with private plate Its a rough old dog If I am giving it honest appraisal and Only this week have seen a 1 owner car with history and only 96k for a good price. sadly has no mot.. hence..it has a full leather interior.
Also have a twin top and that has full service history I paid just £1300 I presented it for mot and it went through one advisory (brake pads low fronts) I had car valeted it had gone mouldy and it looked lovely.
The cars battery was in flat state so changed battery and then had gremlins. I've bought the part (window switch) and I've yet to replace it I feel I lost interest in it its actually one of my best cars in a long time. I bought car to make a few quid because I am unable to do much work. I have a sad feeling my £1300 plus all my expense of around £500 I will probably be lucky to get £900 back.
These cars are selling between £650 and £3600 and in most cases struggle to get the better price..
Love to make some dosh.. Valuations and quotes are not my strong point..

You shouldn’t have to make this video tbh. I buy cars from Auction and give them a lick over and sell them for a profit. I always sell first against the competition because I’m cheaper. I’m cheaper because I bought cheap and still make good profit.

Cheers Trevor. I know there's a good percentage of you guys who totally understand the business and how it works / how the wheels keep turning, but i HAD to address that small group of viewers who automatically assuming i'm being dishonest about what i pay for some cars, simply because they don't see 'behind the curtain' of the motor trade!

Too much bla bla bla then repeats again and again. Just get to the point and your videos will be much appreciated. If you want to make longer videos just think outside the box. May be add repairs or other topics. Good luck.

Thanks for watching. I also can’t stand repetitive videos and that is something I am always keen to avoid in my productions so if this one has come across like that I can only apologise (as I said, it’s a pet hate of mine too). I certainly haven’t done this to extend the length of the video but have noted your comments.

Niiiice. I find the skeptics in the comments a really odd thing ya know. I did this one with Epic Car Detailing and people were saying it's staged. It's a farm vehicle...I guess you could say it was staged by the fact that it was used on a farm!?! th-cam.com/video/xDgdWt2DY4g/w-d-xo.html

There will always be detractors and i can live with that, but i can't stand that even 0.1% of my viewers might think i'm being dishonest with my figures. I simply do not lie about this stuff!
