It was fitted with 5 spoke diamond cut alloys, but I replaced them with the Escort cosworth style wheels, I also retrofitted factory front fogs, that was one of the best cars I have owned, replaced it in 1999 with a new 4dr RSAP ST24, again in silver..Great cars..
I was wrong about the wheels that were on it when I got it, it had the RS diamond cut wheels, I had them refurbished, I got sick of replacing the center caps because they kept corroding and the wheels started to bloom, hence the cosworth reps..
I to had a white saloon L reg 2.0 SI with the RS body kit and the 16inch polished seven spoke alloys. And I later swapped them for some original escort cosworth wheels. I had a blue SI probably in 2008 it was immaculate I paid about 700 for it at the time wish I had kept it was a lovely car to drive sold it for same as I bought it for
You mentioned the colour of your car being called Citrine Yellow, Ford Australia produced the BA and BF Falcon XR6 models with a very similar looking colour called Citric Acid
Number plates leave me with questions about late registration and the EU strip. I don't recall EU plates being available as far back as 1995 and early Mk1 Mondeos wore a "K" registration. I assume these promo cars sat around on display for quite some time before being registered?
They are starting to get rare the mk1 i would do the work and welding as there will be any ford rots (I've done plenty) but i would have to have to change the colour but i would enjoy driveing it around 👍
WOW indeed! Very cool, I remember these very well. I didn't realise they came with trick suspension and a power hike. I know you're not keeping it on steels but it looks kinda cool on them. I imagine modestly banded gloss black with chrome beauty rings and chrome centre caps a-la 70s performance American cars. Did they also do a version a little later on in this colour as a 4x4 V6? Or am I mixing memories up?! Regardless, subbed on the strength of this car alone, looking forward to seeing its restoration!

Loved the video! Used to own a '94 1.8 "Celebration" and honestly, it is the car I miss the most out of the ones I have owned 😊
The Mk1 Mondeo really is a special car to drive!
For 15-20 years ago i remember seen some ford mondeo mk1 with that styling on them but they where not yellow and those seats i remember those in mk1 diesel
I hope you find a original gunmetal radio for it and a good gearknob i have a 1995 mondeo mk1 td on si wheels and a 1994 mondeo mk1 1.6 on mk2 rs 4 spokes both hatchbacks and some spare parts for them including 5 original radios
My mate had one in a salmon colour. Possibly even rarer than the yellow.
My wife tells me that extra inch is the difference between an oooh & an Aaahh 🤣
Thos brings back memories of rally cross and Martin Schances legendary car.
Are the front wheel arches flaired? Compared with the normal mondogs.
I remember looking at a MK1 Mondeo 4x4 Si in citrine yellow back in 2008 for £1000. I thought about it but thought "nah im only 18, that's a dad car". I got a '94 Fiesta Si 16v in mallard green instead for £600, ended up putting a 2.0 into that (like 90% of Si owners did) 😂
I had a blue SI probably in 2008 it was immaculate I paid about 700 for it at the time wish I had kept it was a lovely car to drive sold it for same as I bought it for
Love mondeos. Nice work.
The number plate is truly fitting, WOW. 😅
You mentioned the colour of your car being called Citrine Yellow, Ford Australia produced the BA and BF Falcon XR6 models with a very similar looking colour called Citric Acid
I used to see a 5-door Citrine Si driving around Exeter until fairly recently - M130GTA. I think it's just an occasional use car now.
Number plates leave me with questions about late registration and the EU strip.
I don't recall EU plates being available as far back as 1995 and early Mk1 Mondeos wore a "K" registration.
I assume these promo cars sat around on display for quite some time before being registered?
Many euro plates were fitted as an 'upgrade'... Personally I hated them
@@martynrollinson I know they were and I think yours are in correct font, so done in period pre-2001when the car was still young.
i prefere the 16“ wheels much more, they look so much better with the meat on it
Quality. I love seeing cars i didnt know exist.....edit..... have a like an a new subscriber
Can't wait for this one mate.
Bloody hell ! Mondeo without the bumpers taped up 😂😂.... could do with a set of compomotives
