only 4k views and 70 likes but this video is an absolute game changer, and one of the best most thorough explanations of anything in FTB. well done. now if only i could get my altar to work in creative mode like it does in multiplayer...
Looks like older version droppers won't go into a chest. Without changing it too much, you can replace the dropper with a hopper and just invert the level emitter's signal and it works perfect. Thanks for the setup!
@@Alistik I ended up redesigning from that again because the hopper was starting to have problems with larger loads. In the end, I kept the dropper from the video, but replaced the chest below it with a hopper, which works as intended. No need for inverting the redstone. prntscr.com/s6bciy
great tutorial, I based my slate automation on this. btw you can use a crafting card in the level emitter to emit a redstone signal when crafting instead of a surrogate item. that simplified my setup a lot (2 networks, no extra storage) here's my setup (m main, b blood magic) I did the pattern interface(m) into an interface(b) [it goes into the altar with a storage bus], and an exporter(b) with a level emitter(m) [with a crafting card set to the respective slate] into an interface(m)
Do you think you could show an image of this? I am trying to follow this tutorial but something went wrong along the way and I really don't want to do this all over again, I understand if not tho
This is wonderful! I managed to get it working with a little tinkering (replaced the vanilla chest under the dropper with a gold chest from Iron Chests as thats what I had to hand). Had a problem where I couldnt get the slate and surrogate block to import into my main system, researching gave me the clue that it was because I had a security terminal on my network. Aparently a blank biometrics card in that terminal would fix the issue but I havent played with that yet :) Just wanted to thank you for this, its a wonderful system and a very well made video, well explained, clear to follow, and good quality work.
i like your setup for this, the comment about level emitter crafting cards seems like a good shout, and probably something i will try i just wanted to point out that even without that, you can quite happily just not put the extra blocks in the output of your recipes ae2 will still import them back into the system with no complaints, even if they arent specified in the output, and it removes the problem of the weird looking recipe cards, as well as the possible clashing recipes for the extra blocks, or simply the extra shown recipes in your interface ae2 also seems to have a lot of problems with having an item seemingly be used to craft itself, so while it is clearly working for you here, i wouldnt be surprised if that had caused other people some issues (which removing the block from the output would also fix)
Dropper wasn't dropping into a chest(kept spitting the item away from the chest), but i fixed it by just making it drop the item down onto a hopper and feeding that hopper back into the ME network.
Love the setup. I found the redstone emitter would trip more than once if crafting multiple items. This would cause the dropper to drop the aux item and lock up the auto-crafting. I resolved this by changing the energy input the green circuit from the red circuit to the blue circuit BEFORE the toggle switch.
Just in case anyone makes the mistake i did, if you have a Security Terminal you will need to add a blank Biometric Card to it so your main system will interact with any sub networks
Well I’m bummed I spent 4 hours in survival mode building this and it’s not working for me :/ what I think I found is the items aren’t dropping out of the dropper at all. The wood plank just sits in the middle top slot of the dropper. If I add a hopper it seems to move too quickly and never put an item on the alter. Any ideas?
Maybe that stupid question but im total noob in AE2 ;p Do i need to have 64 quartz shovels to craft 64 demonic slates? (If i set quartz shovel as item for demonic slate ofcourse ;d)
to avoid making fake recipes for the surrogate blocks, all you have to do is set up the patterns so that it doesn't expect the surrogate block back, and then simply trash the surrogate block with a cactus, lava or other trashing method If your doing this, i suggest you make the surrogate blocks cheap blocks that are easy to craft or you have alot of. i used stained glass matching the slate's colour since we have unlimited dye and sand Also, with a bit of modification you could craft multiple at once, you just need a way for the dropper to pulse until its empty after all the slates are done. Although you are limited by the storage space of the dropper.
This setup seems very problematic if u want to craft more than 1 slate at a time. U could just use crafting cards in the level emiters to get rid of nearly all problems including the signal items.
got a much simpler setup, just put import bus on altar and filiter it. with an interface on altar. ur setup seems too spammy, as i play gregtech and have tons of recipes
You know a setup is legendary when it works after 7 years
Its kinda ages behind but its still useful nowadays. Great work!

Still works today (add hopper under dropper with one space between)
absolute legend, totaly underated video, deserves more ngl, congrats bro thanks :D
Hands down one of the better tutorials iv seen for either AE2 and or BM. Super simple and easy to understand. Cheers bud!
thank you so much for this tutorial. This is a very clever setup, I tried for like 30 mins and the most I could do was make blank slates.

Do you have pictures of your setup by chance? I'm trying to replicate it but im not sure which level emitter needs to be inverted

This was a huge help for automating my Blood Altar. Thanks a lot.

about the clashing recipes part, you can use lower interface priority.

can you explain me how to do this plees?

All you guys/gals who like this kind of stuff need to be engineers. Please look into it..

Yes, sadly
But you can do it better

you wanna show that?
Dont work

By any chance could you show what you mean? And would it work for modern versions of MC, or a modpack like ATM9?
