This would be also awesome to make carpaccio and roast beef. Nice to slice Canadian Bacon, which you can smoke yourself (tastes way better than store bought and it's 5 times cheaper). OMG! It can slice it fully frozen??? Awesome!
You have to draw the line somewhere and so far, there has been more than enough power to slice frozen meat. Beswood blade is a chromium-plated from Italy but given the choices, I think any of them with that same design is a good machine.
Love your reviews, thank you for the info! How frozen is the meat when you slice it? Has it been frozen for hours then thawed before slicing? Concerned if the rotating saw would "burn" the meat or that the would get blade damaged if the meat is too frozen.
I've been on the fence about buying a meat slicer. Since I live alone and I don't consume sliced that frequently, it doesn't make sense for me to get one. But if I had a family or SO who did eat a lot of sliced meat or maybe I barbeque/roast meat thats intended to be sliced a lot, then it would make sense. How frequently do you use this machine?
I used my previous machine pretty consistently for shabu-shabu 1-2 times a month. Eating out at a restaurant is about $40/person vs $7-8/person at home. Eat it 10 times and you paid for this machine already.
Wow, I wasn't expecting the internal teardown demonstration, but that was definitely appreciated. What a great quality machine!
Glad you liked it!
Very fancy! Are you going to get the specialized divided pan also?

thanks for this video! you just convinced me (and my fiancé) to buy this slicer.. we love hot pot at home! ◡̈
Ha hahah ahah. I own this one currently and I've tried 2-3 others. This is a good one.
why didn't you get the kws one for stronger motor and better blade for around 35$ more?

It's frozen hard. The meat gets slightly defrosted when it touches the metal but still cuts it.
@ thank you so much!
What thickness would you suggest for Shabu Shabu?
3/4 to 1
Does this machine cut thru bones, for example like T-bone steak?
No, you need a band saw for that.
How thin did you cut it for the shabu shabu?
Depends on what you like. I use around 1.5, too thin feels like not enough content, too thick and it not as satisfying since you have less pieces.
Can you slice cheese with this?
Can it slice super thin easy?
Yes
Cooking channel! 😁
Would love you to show us how this the meat
What? How thin is it or how it's cut?
