I just bought one. It is not very big, and looks like a paper cutter. But I have tried it for a couple of weeks and it makes some nice meat chips that I dehydrate. It took a few tries to get the slices as thin as I wanted, but the result was a thin, crispy chicken chip.
I've wondered about these. It doesn't really look that much smaller than a regular meat slicer - just less expensive. You could take your larger cuts of meat and cut them to a size that works prior to freezing. I'm still holding out for the wife approval on a dehydrator, so I won't bring this up 😆
Yeah, there price of those brand chips is CRAZY! I bought one order, and most of them were crushed and crumbled and I couldn't dip them😢 so disappointed! We bought an air fryer with dehydrate function so now I make my own 😋🤤😋🥩🥩🥩 We already had the meat slicer!
That looks like it actually works surprisingly well compared to what I was expecting! I think I'll stick with my regular meat slicer that I already own but this might actually do a better job at getting consistent slices. I don't much care for the whole swinging blade thing though even though I'm always careful when using that sort of thing.
Yes something like this would help me make my own meat chips. I do not have a lot of space for either in my kitchen or storage outside of my kitchen. Especially combined with an oven. Because I do not have a separate dehydrator. I have my oven and I have an Anova oven. Not that I can actually use the a nova oven.
Hi! We found you almost three yrs ago and learned about the BBB& E way of eating. It did wonders for us! Now I found this video about the slicer and I want to ask if you have tried using it on frozen ground beef to make hamber chips ( also a video we saw of yours😄) Would love to hear if you tried! Thank you for detailed info you share about your eating lifestyle!
Yes we have done that and it works well. It can be difficult to slice frozen ground beef so sometimes its easier to roll it thin between parchment paper
I love you guys and have been watching under a different subscription, although I just subscribed again under this “moderation is a myth” handle. I was hoping that you guys could help me out. I was wanting to get mine and my husband’s story out and start a YT channel (maybe other social media platforms in the future) and do a “prep for success” type of channel and hopefully with your permission use your recipes. Eventually once I get a following, I would love to help the keto/carnivore community and highlight channels like yours and send them to your channel and website. I just have to say your Mac and cheese using shrimp is pretty freaking awesome. I love it!❤ Please let me know if it’s okay. Even if you say no, thanks for all you do! Always a fan, Laura (Moderation is a Myth)
Question: Do you salt or brine your meat before dehydrating? I tried a brine once and got the salt ratio wrong. Maybe a brine, freeze, slice, dehydrate method might be better. Just curious how you do it.
Thank you Joe for always doing such great reviews for us! Greatly appreciated!
I got one for Christmas. Finally, I used it yesterday. Love it. It is so much easier than using my mandoline.
Serve para cortar queijo?
Left a comment on this on the post in Mighty Networks. I have one and was surprised at how well it works!
Thank you for reviewing this for us.
Thx Joe. I bought one of these a year ago and it works great for me... I love using it and very easy to use
🌟🌟🌟An eye of round roast would work very well!
I cannot wait to try my machine asap. Thanks, Joe.

You have the tops of those knobs on both sides, you can use rubber bands or silicone bands to hold the meat down too.
Thanks Joe, I appreciate the video.
Hi Joe what about using a frozen chub of ground beef.
Don’t know if it would stay together in the dehydrator.
Just a thought
Yes, it does, so long as its packed tightly
Couldn't you just cut the big hunks of meat so that they'll fit in your slicer? Thanks.
I like using pork loin, cheep!

THAT is Exactly What I want too...
So... you're glad you bought this?

You can dehydrate in the oven on the lowest temperature it has. I make jerky that way.
Pretty sure that’s an eye round roast, Joe! Thanks for the video and review! Got one for DH for Christmas, but a different brand, and he loves it!

This might just be the ticket for specific use.
Yes thank you Joe this would be helpful🎉
I would like to use it in making beef jerky

Hey Joe, thanks for the video, what was the size brand and hp, on the electric one you purchased ? Thanks 😊
