Its funny that u can't in school
Or you can say I pled the fifth
FreshCabbage lol...that’s funny 😂
I read this as soon as he said it 😂
Hahahhahahhahahahhahahaha word!
Everyone look like the characters 😂 besides o.j
i was surprised the chose cuba gooding to play o.J maybe because of his light complexion and big name......i didn't like how he played oj
Facts
Definitely spot on for the casting director. The judge especially, 100%
Donovan S I think Cuba played o j like Jesse Eisenberg played in Mark Zuckerberg
I think oj was a bad choice. Someone who looked more like cuba should have been accused of murdering oj's wife
When OJ put on the gloves he deserved an Oscar for his acting.
Shut up, Donald
Yeh lol. Were the gloves real leather? Does leather shrink?
Did yall hear about OJs armed robbery? What a freaking clown. and psycho
@@claudeyaz he spread his fingers and also had the latex gloves on, which causes traction. If I'm not mistaken, the gloves were frozen which causes leather to shrink (don't quote me on this) even then, the gloves still basically fit. Those are definitely his gloves.
Mimzy Sky I also believe they were the only pair that was made in that area which were apparently made for him.
Cuba never looked or acted a thing like OJ, way too emotional, OJ has a very manipulating, calm and collective personality always with a smile on camera. The rest of the cast done an excellent job though
I think Cuba did a good job.... especially when he kicked Chris off his bench in Brentwood....
I actually liked his acting...
I mean we all saw oj on camera. Who.knows what he was like off camera
And Cuba also has a very sympathetic face, imo it just radiates warmth so it was hard not to feel sorry for him at least once in the show
Yes, what you describe was OJ when he was *on camera.* Keep in mind, most of Cuba Gooding Jr's portrayal of OJ involved what was going on with OJ *behind* the camera, and *behind* the camera, OJ was, basically, almost *exactly* like Cuba Gooding Jr portrayed him. He was *very* emotional and *absolutely nothing* like the guy the world saw and heard on camera!
Obviously, there's not a lot of evidence of this (because again, he knew how to act when cameras and recording devices were around), but perhaps the best example of how OJ *actually* was behind the scenes is his phone call with the police during the slow speed car chase (see 7:01-7:25 in the video below. Listen to him groan, wallow, and reveal his true emotions when the cameras aren't on him. Keep in mind, he's doing all of this with a gun to his head as well. Basically, *very* different than the man people saw on the football field, in commercials, in interviews, in movies, and even in the courtroom itself)! And multiple friends and witnesses have confirmed how different he was behind the scenes, both before and after the trial! His own former manager once said, "there is a lot of anger brewing inside of him" (i.e. he's *very* emotional), and even described the difference between him behind-the-scenes and in-front-of-the-camera as "the bad guy becomes the good guy!"
th-cam.com/video/YLmDE_JYUNU/w-d-xo.html
www.vanityfair.com/style/2017/11/oj-simpson-post-prison-las-vegas
So yes, weirdly enough, the fact that so many people think Cuba Gooding Jr did such a "bad job" of playing OJ because he was "so different from the real OJ" is a testament to *how good* he was at playing *the real* OJ! Yes, he acted *nothing* like "the OJ people remember," because "the OJ people remember" (i.e. the OJ *in front* of the camera) was *absolutely nothing* like the OJ *behind* the camera! The fact that Cuba Gooding Jr was *exactly the opposite* of what people thought OJ was shows *how spot on* he got *the actual OJ,* because *the actual OJ* was *also* absolutely nothing like what people thought he was! Hilariously ironic!
I was shocked by how close most of the actors looked to the real people
Other than OJ they nailed it
Ikr
I mean what are the odds
Jamie Totten except for OJ. Cuba is great, just not in this. His craggy face dint do it for my , O J in his day was quite good looking. Plus I didn’t care for how squeaky Cuba played this character. Everyone else was perfect, especially Marcia and Johnny.
@@user-yj5gh3cw9k oj was the worst Cuba is a great actor though thought John was off as well slightly.

Very professional and honest. Straight up and direct, rather than passive aggressive.
Well its a court you dummy, you suppose to say what you mean.
He did it professionally as one could. He's seeing two grown, highly educated men arguing like children on national TV about something that is, at best, tangential to the case itself. He was smart in defusing the situation and getting everyone in their respective corner to get back to something that doesn't waste everyone's time.
Did the judge play his own role cause he sound and look like him😂
SRFK SNIPEZ wasn’t it awesome? I thought Darden, the actor that played him, was absolutely superb.

That's lacist
The glove thing makes zero sense: the glove fitting is not the question , the question is. Did the glove cover all his fingerprints? because the glove did it’s job even tho it was not fully covering his fingers
Yeah well a babys fingerprints 2would've been convered too if youre looking from that perspective...
And it was frozen over and over causing it to shrink and he was also wearing other gloves when he tired them on
He was wearing medical gloves under the leather gloves. Of course they didn't fit. How did no one in a room full of adults point that out.
@@patrickmuhlbeyer9262 I believe there were no prints in inside the gloves so they assumed the man was wearing other gloves underneath?

Oooooor he could have nothing at all to do with them, Period.
I used to think he hired someone too but after watching the new special it basically confirms he did it. If not then who did he hire? Why was OJ's blood all over? This wasnt about whether or not he did it, its just a botched case.
Evidence probably was planted but that was just to make it easier to convict. And it was proven evidence was planted but just bc evidence was planted and some guy falsified police reports doesnt make the accused suddenly innocent.

Mr. Westbrook yeah that was the only poor casting option i’d say
this series was created by ryan murphy who also created american horror story. him and sarah paulson are regulars on that series so naturally ryan would want to incorporate them into this series as well
Yeah the actor who played OJ in a biopic released in 1995 "The OJ Simpson Story" was much better.
Well Cuba hasn't been in much films recently, so I say it's fair!
he wasnt even close to the real person, didnt look like him, not nearly the same size, voice is much higher
I remember watching the actual trial as a kid. Seems just like yesterday. Watched it with my mom and brothers tucked under the blanket and the ac was colder than usual.
Keep it coming, this was beautiful
Voice inflection is a thing. You can generally tell the difference between blacks, Asians, whites etc. that’s not racist. That’s just life. The same way I can help point someone out by saying he’s Asian or middle eastern or white or black. It’s not racist. It’s just the way It is.
Not always...
So you have never had a white friend who people say “sounds black” and you have never had a black friend that people say “sounds white?”

I appreciate the film making, but, for me, this is one of those times when watching the actual footage is way more interesting and entertaining than anything they could put to screen. I've been watching the actual trial on youtube minute to minute and while litigation can be a very, very long and dry process, it's worth seeking out to see just how actual events take place for once instead of the dramatizations in tv and film, regardless of how accurate this particular production may or may not be.
Watching this now and this case/trial still makes my blood boil. It was mishandled and a catastrophe from the very beginning and I’m pause the tv every episode to take a deep calming breath. This is to this day one of the craziest and most insulting case/trials I’ve ever followed.

It's "scary" (read: mind-blowing and awesome) how accurately they got the set design, costumes, and even the nuances of dialogue in this! If someone misspoke in court, they captured the person misspeaking in the series. If there was a tiny detail on someone's face or facial expression, it was caught by the actors! Truly amazing work by everyone involved!
And for the record, I think the most underrated performance of this entire series was that of Kenneth Choi as Lance Ito! First off, let's be clear, Kenneth Choi looks and sounds *nothing* like Lance Ito in real life (below is a link with a picture of Choi next to an *actual* picture of Ito from the trial, and below that is a link that let's you hear what his voice *actually* sounds like. Choi grew up in Chicago and has a very "Chicago-like" accent- posted another video below explaining the Chicago dialect. But in the show, he absolutely *mastered* Judge Ito's voice and dialect, right down to how it changes when it's raised or lowered- voices act differently per person when you raise or lower them, and Choi got Ito's voice changes down *perfectly)!* The costume design (which to be fair, wasn't him. Credit to that goes to the costume designers), the facial expressions, the voice, the timing, and even the tiniest things like how he sits in his chair and how his glasses change position on his nose due to his head movement or even how the lines on his forehead scrunch up at the right time, were *all* nailed *perfectly!*

th-cam.com/video/e_qmt7Hg7Ms/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/zqhvk4Rcjfs/w-d-xo.html
To anyone saying, "they only look alike because all Asians look alike," with all due respect, that is total and utter BS (and that's the "nicest" way I can put it)! Again, the non-costumed Kenneth Choi looks and sounds *nothing* like the actual Judge Lance Ito! His face is thinner and longer, his hair is completely different, and even his voice makes it clear the two grew up in completely different parts of the country! No, Choi looks and sounds like Judge Ito in this series because, combined with amazing costume work, he did his job *outstandingly* and got so many details *so perfect* that he was able to literally trick your brain into thinking, "this is not an actor! I'm looking at the *actual* Judge Ito from my memories decades ago!" Amazing acting work!
Errr someone’s a Choi fan then…? 😅
Can’t believe I just got around to watching this. Great show

@Something New Reasonable argument but that was not the case. He was being closely monitored by two cops and the judge himself so it would be obvious if he tried pull something like that. His hand was actually swollen but the amount would not prevent the glove to be worn. The gloves were washed several times and went through some kind of freezing process where the gloves reduced in size as a reaction.
Nah leather can shrink
Roberto Santos and leather shrinks when it’s wet, and there was blood on the glove, so the glove would also be smaller itself.

They asked Fuhrman those questions because once you plead the 5th you must do the same with every question asked after that!!
+Santiago Ferrari Well actually, yes, a bit. If you answer any question, it could open the door for follow up questions which you cannot now plead the fifth on. Since there were some excellent lawyers involved in this case, to be safe - Fuhrman's lawyer advised him to plead the fifth on everything. For Fuhrman's lawyer his client's protection was more important than OJ's conviction.
nope to one question after he said yes
mod prime thank you
Thomas McCarthy You see every time he was asked a question he looked at his attorney and turned and pled the fifth. And Fuck Cochran he brought race into this crime!!!
+krissy Missy This is entirely false and you are confusing other people with your ignorant comment. Fuhrman could plead the 5th on whichever question he feels like, but he also has the right to answer if he chooses to. Pleading the 5th for one question does not automatically mean you have to plead the 5th on all other questions.
I'll never understand how they'll go to lengths like getting actors that look as much like their real life counterparts yet they won't get them to wear the same clothes as the real life people
Darden is such a good actor, I hope his character in the MCU eventually becomes Mr. Negative, cause the actor not only is really good, but plays a really similar role to the guy who is Mr. Negative in the Spiderman Game. And he bares some of a likeliness to the character in the game (same ethnicity, hair color, the only thing missing is a being a bit more in shape, but superhero movies have shown us that people can get hella fit for their roles)

I really can't believe that the united states still has a Jury in their law system
Elvira Montanna whats wrong with a jury
@Elvira Montanna well the jury don't usually have a complete understanding of the law, or some of the legal proceedings. Also it's not an unknown fact that many u.s citizens do not have a high level of education, thus allowing for injustices to happen. Maybe if an intro level of what the system is like was implemented in the school curriculum we could have better juries with higher thinking skills
Katerina S exactly what i was thinking. It doesn't make sense that some common people have the power of justice.
Elvira Montanna Amy American can waive their right to a jury trial. Personally, I trust a jury over one man or woman in a judge.
