    One of the best and most important scenes of the series. It shows Johnnie Cochran’s gifted and innate ability to sell people on a story he paints. Courtney Vance is a PHENOMENAL actor.

  • @natalieps2387

    This speech showed how charismatic & inspiring Cochrane was. I think its wrong that he turned a double murder into a racial issue & I read that Johnnie thought oj was guilty before he got on the case but I do respect that johnnie was trying to help black people & expose the LAPD's bad apples. It would have been great if his client was actually innocent. If he had a truly innocent client that was the victim of LAPD corruption then it would have been great. I also agree with Darden here , they never should have used furhman. They had more than enough evidence w/o the gloves & those damn gloves from both marcia & chris ruined the case. Marcia for using furhman to introduce the gloves bc he found them & Darden for having oj try them on. It's insane to turn evidence over to the defendant to help prove that he did it thus sending sending him to prison. It's like oj got to testify without cross. Those gloves had latex under them & they were drenched in blood which shrinks leather. As a kid of 13 not knowing all the details or the years of retrospection when I saw the gloves did not fit I thought " oh he did not do it " truthfully after listening to some of those jurors they had the intelligence level of a 13 year old. One woman saying about the dna " they said it was 1 in 150 million that it was not oj , well theirs more than 150 million people on the planet " or the other woman who said " this is a murder case if they wanted to try domestic violence go to a different court room " is she serious? Did she not see that if a man beats his wife over & over that the odds are he will kill her. Did the lawyers show statistics? Ace prosecutor vince bugliosi who put manson away said that's like saying eating has nothing to do with bulimia.

    This scene is a reminder of how Tragic this story is. Obviously the most tragic part is the loss of 2 lives (Nicole and Ron), but also how a man who was once an inspiration to so many, could ruin their life thru violence. O.J. Simpson MADE IT... an athlete, a star, a role model... all that was destroyed on June 13, 1994.

    • @tjjordan4207
      @tjjordan4207 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      It is indeed a tragedy, for everyone. Even, in a way, for OJ. You’re right, he did have it made. He had everything but it was because of that he became obsessed with what he no longer had. He couldn’t live with the fact that his ex was making a life without him.
      I remember a line from a movie: “Reputation is how people see you. Character is who you are.”

      @@svpermanchild9592 He didn't say which game, he played good in one, played bad in another against Atlanta. It's possible he picked a division opponent at random and O.J. let his memory do the rest. Given Cochran's penchants for bluffing and half truths, it's possible you are right and he is telling the truth or that he just played O.J. That's whats great about Vance's performance....like the real Johnnie, you never knew the angle he was playing from.
