- Part 2: One of my dreams for this summer was to go on a road trip to see a bit more of Finland! So, Cat and I jumped in the car and headed over to Savonlinna!
(If someone can do Finnish subtitles that'd be amazing!!)

For Kalakukko, you need to visit the biggest city of Eastern Finland, called Kuopio. Maybe next trip?
I was laughing so hard as they were riding past the Stora Enso factory in imatra. that smell is a daily thing for local people. xD
Shame you guys did not visit Lappeenranta since you visit Imatra. Lappeenranta was like 35km from Imatra. Hopefully next time :) Really nice place especially summer.
Dave you should come here in Kuopio Northern-Savonia! We have here the best kalakukkos in the woorld! You know kalakukko is originally from Savonia and the best ones are in Kuopio so hope you can come here some day :)

If you want some proper Kalakukko you need to go to Kuopio.
Lihapiirakka from Hanna Partanen and kalakukko from Irene Partanen.
You need to go porvoo it is one of the oldest town in finland. Porvoo old town is so beautiful
And now I miss summer and roadtrips, even Savonlinna.
I like so much your descriptions around in Finland culture. Just like get to know a new culture, when listening to the English narration. Come of always so good feeling .... :D

The market in imatra is always early in the mornings and then it is a market in Vuoksenniska!

Kalakukko is from Savo, the region where for example Savonlinna is located. So you really can't find it from Imatra, or if you do it's not really a proper one. Lörtsy is also more common in the south Savo (Etelä Savo) than in Imatra. Karjalan piirakat are kinda easy to find but most of the cafes don't have them since they are seen as something really everyday food that is often made by a grandma :D Tough you should have been able to buy them from a store.
If I had known that you are visiting Imatra I would have loved to say hello! Maybe I should follow your social media a bit more closely!
nice video😊 it was kind of wierd to watch video where you visit Savonlinna and Punkaharju because those views are so familiar to me (I am from Kerimäki, which is part of Savonlinna)😁 you should have visited the worlds biggest wooden church in Kerimäki😀
LIHALÖRTSYN you can find for any grills in centre of the city(savonlinna), and KALAKUKON you can find city called kuopio not imatra

Can you guys visit Hamina or Kotka (both are close to Helsinki) it would be awesome, and Hamina has a really amaizing history and lots of things to see! Oh and love you guys, hoping to see more soon. :)

Next time when you go to Imatra you should also visit Lappeenranta. In Lappeenranta they have local food or snacks. You should taste them 😊 Lappeenranta also has beautiful fortress (old town) and harbour!

You should have bought your lörtsy from Laurikainen in Savonlinna, those are the original and best ones that cannot be found anywhere else. And Pizzeria Capero is really worth visiting, delicious pizzas :)

Thank you for the cool videos! I was so surprised that you stopped in Lovisa. O_O That's my hometown. :D There is not so much to see, but you should have gone to the guestharbour. Or just "saltis" as we call it (from the word "saltbodorna"). Nice place with good food. :) Keep up the good work!

+Dave Cad some people had heard ghost storys from that castle like when the moon appears then you can see castle's princes and died russian general together because princes loved that general. And that princes let that general in the castle when war was on and accidentally she let whole russian team in and then castle's king killed her because of that (he bricked her up when she was alive)

theres a few stories about the olavin linna, and one of them includes a "demon" goat and the other one executing a Finnish princess by making a hole in a wall, leaving her in the wall and covering it up again.

Howdy, I enjoy your videos greatly! I'm happen to originally be from Imatra. The bad smell you experienced comes from Stora Enso's cardboard factory our family affectionately calls "fart factory" 'cause it does tend to make it stink quite a bit on that stretch of road. Currently I'm residing in Kuopio and as many have said, you oughta have come up here to get your Kalakukko. Hanna Partanen sells the best meat pies and kalakukkos in Finland if you ask me, plus their web page has lots of Savonian dialect in it which is fun to read. For lörtsys I'd say go to Puumala's harbor under the bridge though I'm not exactly sure if they still sell 'em there as it has been a long time since I last went there.
You should visit Lapland sometimes, it´s beautiful in there. I´, from northern Savonia and the kalakukkos in here are amazing :) Come to Kuopio sometimes, amazing little city. even tho we thing this is a big city :D

If you want to see imatra rapids when the water is flowing, you need to wait about 2 years becouse the dam needs to be repared.😥
I know this is an old video but I just have to comment 😂 It's super weird watching this like "Omg I have been there, omg I have driven that same road, Omg I LIVE there right now!" At the time of this video I was living in Lappeenranta that is like 35km from Imatra (It's a beautiful city during the summer) but now I'm living in Imatra. Also super weird to see you guys eating in my favourite cafe at the same spot that I often sit 😂
And if you ever see this comment, I just want you to know that they are currently renovating that "Imatrankoski" rapid thing (I can't find the right word for it in english) but it should be open again in 2019! Also fun fact, that castle-like hotel is supposed to be haunted by a ghost of a heartbroken lady who jumped to the rapids..

+Dave Cad in Savonlinna Saint Olaf's castle there was 4 towers but when nazis came to finland one of the nazis did cuiside after nazis lost the war and blew that tower up and he blew up too.

Thats a really big mistake that you bought lörtsy from Imatra! The worlds best lörtsy is from Savonlinna named Laurikaisen lihapiirakka aka Lörtsy! :D Now you have to make a new trip to Savonlinna just for that :D
