This is JUST like my basement 😅 totes, shelves, PAINT! And cats hiding in any newly cleared space ❤

It’s all good, as long as they’re your cats 😂

I have just watched this amazing transformation. I don’t usually comment but this was so motivating. You’ve got a couple of probably well meaning comments telling you how to do it better - I think you did brilliantly. I really like listening to you talk it through and I’m now off to have a go at my attic. Im subscribing well done! 🇬🇧

Thank you for the lovely words. I believe we're all doing the best we can. Best of luck with your attic!

Less toys they will play more with them. Too much is overwhelming. I cut back on gifts for my grandchildren. They have too much. I think you did a good job.

Thanks! Since I’ve started having only 3 to 5 toys upstairs at a time things have been more peaceful.

Fantastic job! I decluttered and rearranged my kitchen while watching you work. I didn’t have a whole lot to declutter because I’ve been doing this for years but I surprisingly found 1/2 box of donations, a couple expired foods, and rearranged my cabinets to create a baking cabinet. Hopefully, I’ll cook more at home. Can’t tell you what a pain it was to move the bread machine to get to the flour and sugar. Now rarely used items are there and the flour and sugar are with the other baking items.

If you plan to stock pile, it does not matter where you live- rural or not...... just make sure you have your menus in place before you stock, and have a system for using the stock and replacing it! Blessings from MT!

Just found your channel and truly think it was meant to be. I’m usually very neat, clean and organized….until it comes to the basement 😂. My office, craft and sewing room, laundry and food storage shelves are there plus a utility room for holiday storage totes, trees, etc. You’ve inspired me to tackle that this weekend, you’re right, the only way to get through it is just do it. Thank you!

My basement is my dirty little secret… except it’s not so secret anymore 😂 Good luck - you can do it!!

You can use cardboard boxes temporarily for storage until you've completed your declutter. Then decide what containers are needed. 😊 Nice job on the declutter & organization.

You did an amazing job. Some times we have to get rid of things the easiest (not the most ideal) in order to stay sane. This method has helped me get out of some hard times. Way to go!

Thank you so much for the encouraging words! I'm definitely into prioritizing myself and my family rather than finding the perfect way to declutter in this season of my life.

Unless you live in a remote area you don’t need a stockpile. Just go to the grocery store a few times a month. Every person that stocks up in their pantry ends up wasting so much; what is the point of having it-if it can’t fit in your kitchen you don’t need it. You should have a trash bag recycle bag and a donate bag-it’s really a simple process. Best of luck.

You did a great job, but a lot more stuff could have been donated. The Mr. Potato is very collectible, even missing pieces. That bathroom remodeling stuff could have been taken to the thrift shop also-someone would buy it. They take all kinds of home improvement items. Thrift stores will take clear bags of miscellaneous small toys too.

So many items could have been donated; obviously broken items should be tossed. Items that are still good could be enjoyed by other children. Household items can be used by others. I have boxes ready for donations; I have a bag ready for animal rescues and shelters.
