- Paris-Roubaix is cancelled for 2020, something cyclists never wanted to hear. So while mourning the loss of our favourite monument we decided to pay homage to the Hell of the North by inventing our own local classic ride - including bergs, cobbles, gravel... and Sean 'The King' Kelly!

A tribute to the biggest one-day cycling race in the world Paris-Roubaix. I created Lincoln, Nebraska's own version of the Paris-Roubaix, naming it Lincoln’s Red Brick Roubaix. There was a total of 28 Red Brick sectors to ride which take you through the city. It's a point to point ride and covered 23.4 miles. Strava Link: www.strava.com/activities/4239066945
The closest thing to me, that I know of, is a paving brick intersection in the Old Town part of a beach town. It is an immaculately kept intersection.
Yup, I live in the middle of Prague, so there is no shortage of cobbles here, my every ride starts and ends on cobbled hilly streets and I planned my today's ride to have a lot of pavé sectors, even a long cobbled downhill tunnel!
Rode 22 secteurs of Belgian block here in Pittsburgh today. My valve nuts were rattling going up Climax Street...
This is so amazing and nice what you did to keep up the heart and spirit, after cancellation of the Paris Roubiax. Plus promotion of the new model was fine.

LOVE Sean Kelly, he’s the reason I ride a bike today... as a young kid, watching him live on Irish television at the Tour throughout the summer(s) grew my love and admiration for the sport.
I loved this segment from GCN and The King still looked good with all those younger guys. 64 and still hanging with ex Pros in their 20s and 30s.

I see Sean Kelly and I click like. Right after reminiscing over all of the weekend afternoons spent glued to the race coverage back in the 80’s. What a fierce competitor he was, and apparently a genuinely nice man.

Please do more videos like this. I could have watched hours of this. I am sure the outtakes are pure TV gold!! Sean Kelly, of course, stole the show - he is after all probably the most worshiped hero of cycling today. I would have loved to have seen more of Tom Southam (and the true mystery man, Oliver Smith), individual interviews and just more footage of you guys chatting. Great stuff!

Great to see King Kelly on the cobbles again. Me and 3 mates did our own mini Roubaix in Cheshire, taking on Bradford Lane, Swiss Hill, Woodbrook Lane and Beeston Brow, we loved it!

A fantastic video around Bristol with a legend. A first for me i enjoyed the paid promotion as well. The ratio of gears back then when Sean raced hard as nails.

Bought a Vitus bike in 1984. Very cutting edge, all the frame tubes were bonded to the lugs. Unfortunately had to sell it soon after to get married 🙄.

As someone new to cycling and now listening everyday to Eurosport I imagined Sean Kelly to be a guy in his 30's.
Lol. I can understand mate. However I've recently turned 50, and Sean Kelly was winning big when I was in my early/mid teens. It's amazing how quickly it all passes.

Love this! On my desk right now is the wooden wheel of Gerard Debaets, Tour of Flanders winner in '24 & '27, who also coached my father in the '50s in New Jersey. I like to think of him charging up the Koppenberg with his single gear on it, but alas it was not part of the race back then.

That looks like a campagnolo 9 speed record / chorus setup. Standard on that is 52-42 with a nice 12-23 or 12-25. With the most gorgeous cranks in existence

The last time I saw the legend King Kelly riding in my home city of Bristol was in '88, in a Kellogg's city centre crit.

Funny story - When Sean arrived we asked if he'd ever been to Bristol before, and he replied straight away with a whole lot of detail about that race. His memory and attention to detail was unbelievable.

Nice to see vitus still in the game, and with some great looking bikes.
When I started riding the road I bought a vitus carbone, with huge profile tt bars, 2 sizes too small, but it definitely got me hooked.
