I bought my Apple TV last summer, and to use the phrase "I haven't looked back" would be a bit of an understatement. Nowadays I find absolutely no use for the OG software on my smart tv, and would love for it to eventually fully replace my cable box. The software is so smooth, and I absolutely love the Siri capabilities (and how useful a built-in rechargeable battery is). If you're on the fence about buying one, trust me, buy an Apple TV

Great point about ads. My sony A80J oled software is laggy and not that responsive. Apple tv should blow it away even if you dont own apple tv+. The software, hardware, ad free experience is enough. Plusses are the build quality especially the remote, privacy especially compared to google, and stuff like being able to turn on and control your tv, apple tv device and av receiver all with the apple remote.
I've only had an Apple TV since 2008. I would never bother with any other system. Some gave me an Amazon Stick streamer that I used alongside the Apple - not even close!!! I recently bought a new high end TV & did not even bother using the Samsung streamer - nuf said...
My only complaint with the Apple TV ( i returned mine) is that it did not control my Yamaha receiver (turning it off and on) when I turn it on the tv. My firestick does this function and hopefully the next Apple tv that comes out will remedy this situation and I will give it another try. I did like the UI a lot more with the apple tv.

Thank you for your review. I've an Apple TV myself too, and i love it. It has another strength and some drawbacks that were not mentioned in the video which i would like to add. It's major strength (beside being super fast and clean) is that it supports native refresh rates of 24hz for the most important streaming apps. This makes it unique compared to other streaming devices. It also has some drawbacks: it does not support uncompressed Dolby Atmos and uncompressed DTS:X, and it does not support Dolby Vision Profile 7 FEL. This makes it not the best device for playing UHD-Blu-rays (not even with Infuse Pro). As a streaming device, it is briljant. To play ultra-high quality UHD blu-ray's, the best device is the Ugoos AM6B+ with CoreElec.

I also used to have a very similar LG OLED to you the one you have and used to be able to toggle on/off the tv. I currently have a Samsung with Apple TV 4K 2022 box but not able to find the toggle. It’s connected with my home hub but I’m only able to turn the Apple TV (which turns on tv too) on/off through the Apple TV remote pane in CC… any solutions would be helpful 🙏
@@harpreetSingh-ue4vz if it’s connected to the earc/arc port of your tv, it will turn the tv off when you turn off the Apple TV. Make sure the CEC is turned on in the sound settings.

OLED gives the best picture because they use environment friendly Lights but they are also the most up to date pixels usually OLEDs installed on your TV will mean you are atleast in the ballpark as far as the most up to date pixel tech

Yeah works generally just like a TV would, unsure if HDMI CEC works (turning on the monitor with apple tv remote) but all other features should work alright
Depends on your use case. The apple TV will give you way better performance whereas the TV streamer will give better value (although technically both are definitely overpriced)

The HDMI cable connected from Apple TV 4K into the Yamaha A/V receiver is of standard Belkin with Ethernet & from Yamaha to SONY is the AudioQuest Pearl 48 8K-10K. Can you kindly suggest whether I should consider changing the HDMI Belkin cable to ProFiGold V2103 8K HDMI cable? Will it output even far more superior Audio & Video quality?
@@ApoorvaA735G I don't think so, HDMI is for digital data transmission, unless the cable quality is so bad that cause data lost, otherwise, you won't see or hear the difference. Belkin is HDMI 2.1, which supports 8K 60 fps max, more than enough for your receiver.
@@thomascheuk Actually mine is quite an older one bought in 2017. The outer package of this Belkin HDMI mentions upto 1080p supported. On the cable itself, it is mentioned "High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet". I feel it needs to be changed to a better one to complete the entire sync.

And all of this straight out of the box. And I've noticed people actually think you NEED and iPhone to set up and use an apple tv. For almost the same price you're absolutely better off going with apple on this.

It actually has most of the apps you side load on a NVIDIA shield device because I have two Apple devices and two shields and others the only device I can’t put a lot of apps on is the Roku device
You can sideload on Apple TV too. There’s a few videos on TH-cam how to do it. I can’t do it or mention it in the video because it could violate TH-cam guidelines.

I just don't see the need for an Apple TV. LG smart tv apps offer the same viewing and sound experience through a sonos arc. Some out there say the Nvidia shield tv offers the vest picture of everything out there, including the built in tv apps, but the picture quality is already so good on modern day OLED's I don't see how it could much of ab upgrade.

Lets see no external USB ports so you're stuck with whatever storage is available on the device. The apple TV remote isn't even backlit so there's another drawback and finally you can't enjoy high resolution audio like Dolby Atmos with your 4K UHD movies. I'll stick to my Nvidia shield TV anyday of the week

I only wish it had web browsing and a usb input to run files. But it’s a great piece of kit.
You can still install VLC player. You can easily put video files on it via remote playback (wifi).

i believe thats just home toggle, that lets you turn on and off electronics compatible with apple homekit

Love Apple TV it also connects easy to my Bose headphones the remote is a lot better on the new ones too

ATV is nice, but it can get really buggy at times. Best thing for me is playing Atmos music over HDMI to my sound system.
