Nothing is as good as Harmony, including SofaBaton. But I don’t know if anything ever will be, just because the world has changed around remotes.

Wow I feel special in that I had something before Reed did! :) I picked up a couple of the ThirdReality night lights a little while ago, and I think they're a great addition to a HomeAssistant setup. At night time, tying them in with the bed presence sensors built into our bed (SleepNumber) I can have these kick on if we get out of bed while it's overnight and dark to light the way. During the daytime, I use them as a visual indicator of activity over at my elderly mother's home through a slightly more sophisticated HA -> HA webhook setup. If Mom is up and moving around, the light in our house goes on green so that we can see that she's active and not laying in bed.
Added bonus - as you said, they're a Zigbee repeater so it can help your mesh network too. All in all, price/value ratio is solid on that one.

Great Video. I'm actually very interested in that TrampleTek Blue pressure mat. I already have a Bed Occupancy sensor I made with a random mat off of Amazon and a ESP32, but because it'll false trigger all the time, I had to build in like a 3 second delay to avoid false triggers, like when rolling around on the bed.
So my question is, does the blue pressure mat you showed have a built in delay or is it pretty instantaneous? Should I expect rolling around on bed will give false triggers?

I did buy the model with 2-lasers (since it was almost the same price), but I do not think that will matter much in brightness.
I'm very happy with this solution. Our garage isn't as big as yours and in order to fit both cars, parking has to be done with much precision. This works great!

Hi Reed, love your videos. I was wondering if you or one of your subscribers could suggest a solution for the following application. I live in the country and have a well. I would like to have an indication on my Home screen that would simply let me know when either the well pump or the house pressure pump are running. I tried using a small switch module but someone tried turning it on on the home app and it blew up because it wasn't rated for the pumps current draw. Do any of the smart locks support type of doors where you need to first raise the door-handle to engage the multi-point lock system?
Such doors are relatively common in Europe - and it's same stuff (mushroom shaped pins that slide to lock the opening in multiple points) as European windows that seems to have spread to US too (especially PVC windows). Except for doors you can then use key to really lock the door.
If it's not locked with a key - well anyone from the outside can simply push door handle down to disengage the multi point lock system.

We're building soon, what i'm missing are smoke detectors that are interconnected (if one goes of > the other one(s) go off too), also dimmers, buttons for in the wall (multile optional buttons). All the rest I liked ;) thanks a lot ! =)

With so many advances in ai I really wonder how long until something like sarah from eureka or Pat from Disney's smart house is going to become a whole package normal people can buy for their homes. Alexa is getting there but compared to the aforementioned ai's it's still pretty limited.

I definitely prefer Govee lights over Philip hue. I’ve switched all of my lightbulbs to Govee.

Do they support Zigbee too? Are GU10 available? How is the reliability? Had tons of problems with cheaper bulbs that weren't Hue

I found two used (but cleaned, refurbished and wiped) Surface Pro tablets for just over a hundred bucks each, they're becoming my HA dashboards. Browser in kiosk mode, boom.

Loving these rapid fire lists. Well, love everything so far, but these especially during Seasonal Sales. One smart device would be *Ahem* Couples personal intimate toys lol! Don't think it'll fit here as a family friendly channel.

Instead of the Sofabaton, find the Kickstarter for the Unfolded Circle Remote 3. Screen, fully local, programmable and with impeccable Home Assistant integration. Cheap? No. The best? Probably.

It's honestly infuriating how good the Hue motion sensora are. I got a couple of them early on in my home automation adventure, and even now that I'm on Home Assistant and using devices from dozens of brands, the Hue motion sensors have been more reliable than anything. I wish they were cheaper!
