  • Here i show you how you can use your Blue Yeti USB mic with a Canon M50. This setup can be used with any mirrorless or DSLR camera that has a 3.5mm audio input jack.
    -------
    What you need
    1. Yeti Blue USB mic with accompanying USB cable
    2. A 3.5mm audio jack to 35mm audio jack (I used Amazon Basics brand).
    3. Canon M50 (or other mirrorless/DSLR camera w/ 3.5mm audio input)
    4. A computer to power the Yeti Blue USB mic.

WOW....this is one of those 'perfect' videos....when you brought up the computer I immediately thought 'wait why not use a power brick' and then you answered that. I was concerned about clipping but you answered that as well! Excellent video, and you saved me ...probably $200 simply because I was on amazon frustrated at my audio quality with the Rode mic and missing how clean my Yeti sounded. Huge thanks you got a like and a subscribe!

HUGE thumbs up from me Steve!!! I LITERALLY needed to know this!!! I have the exact same mic (except mine is a blue-silver color) and had to Idea I could connect it directly to the canon M50!!!
Actually, I did look this up on youtube a year ago, and there wasn't really any content that covered THIS specifically [well, at least nothing simple or to the point or SPECIFIC specific about what you just covered]
Myself and my future comedy music etc say a HUGE thank you!!! REALLY happy you took the time to create and post this! Awesome job!

Wish I could give you another thumbs up on this video Steve! I JUST bought a 3.5mm amazon basics 8 foot cable, and it totally worked!!!
The only "problem" I had when setting up was the bars on the camera stopped moving and the mic stopped working when the energy saving feature on my macbook pro shut the mac's monitor off lol... so I just temporarily changed the settings on that, and it was totally fine!
Lemme know though if you find out another way to power the mic without plugging it into a laptop, would be useful to have other options. Also, any recommendations on monitoring your mic sound using headphones... I guess you'd plug the headphones into the laptop(??)
    Otherwise this is AWESOME!
