I'm a teacher at a low socioeconomic school with lots of disadvantaged and traumatised students., I often put on your videos as chill study music with beautiful imagery for my students. The music you choose and the process of illustration, inking and painting is soothing for them, my hope is that they develop a love for art and music and your videos support this so well. Thank you for showing your studio, it's a lovely functional space, and I can't wait to see your following continue to grow!
This madevme laugh so much, i had been feeling ashamed of my setup these days and yours is basically the same 😂😂😂 down to the ink prison, reference books, sketchbooks, random machine pieces, papers, its so funny.
The ink being in 'ink prison' got me laughing so hard, but I feel it. I just started inking myself and the fear is so real. Thanks for sharing your space with us, it's always cool to see another artist's space since I work in like a corner of my bedroom lol.
I just found your channel a week or two ago but I’ve watched every video so far, I love your style of artwork and video style. My 7 month old loves watching as well. But I’m commenting for the first time here to thank you for showing your humble art space. As someone currently working out of a dresser in the corner of my apartment, it really makes me feel good to see a professional artist on TH-cam who doesn’t have some fancy pants state of the art high tech studio. Super awesome dude, you’ve gained some new fans! Greetings and well wishes from Tx 😊
I’ve loved pen and ink drawing since forever. Watching you work with a dip pen is so inspiring. I have a tendency to use Japanese fineliners but I also have a favourite dip pen! Love watching your inky universe grow and I love the creatures that live there.
I’ve seen a plethora of artists who showcase and document their art on TH-cam and you have an incredible talent which separates you from others, not to say above or better than them as we all inspire each other but your art is truly captivating. Thanks for sharing the studio with us! Look forward to your channel growing and more content! Take care
Thank you Nik for showing us around your studio! You are my favorite illustrator on TH-cam and it's good to to know you and see all the tools you use. Your channel will grow and inspire millions of people. ❤
Hi from Athens Greece. Your illustrative work is fantastic and this video in particular is very useful as it gave me some very good ideas on how to organize my own studio that I intent to renovate and upgrade. My problem is that there is never enough space to store art materials, papers, finished works, books, all that stuff that have to be squeezed somehow in small studios. But you have made a very practical arrangement with the desks and the shelves all around the walls of the room. Art Creation sketchbooks are my favorites too not only because they have a very decent paper for all sort of media, ( and ink and watercolor) but also because they are super affordable in Europe. In order to get an idea the A5 portrait one costs 3,5 euros here. And the smaller A6 or square ones even less. So I buy them in bulk for every use ( and abuse!! lol ). I'm looking forward to see more videos on your fantastic inking work. 🙂
I love the intricacy of your drawings, the sheer fantasy, the love for subtleties. You have a very unique style! Keep up the good work, man, you have a long and bright future ahead. Hey, I also have this Cotman Aquarel box. I always carry it in my jacket, together with a small sketchbook, a pencil and two water brushes. Whenever I find the time, I draw my surroundings!
I've followed your work for a while online and was so surprised and excited to see your channel pop up on my recommended!! I loved seeing your studio; I always love seeing how indicative other artists studios are of personality and cool niche interests. Can't wait for future videos :)
That's a nice studio. Very comfy. When I saw your little dioramas, I immediately thought "oh, he works just like James Gurney", and then I noticed "Color and Light" on your bookshelf... not surprising. 🙂 I don't like to work with screens and computers either, that's why I gathered a lot of photo references from old magasines that I store in large shoe boxes and binders.
You have pretty quickly become one of my favorite artists on TH-cam. This was so awesome to see your studio setup and hear a bit more about your process. Keep up with the great work!
So fun to see your studio! I love all the old aviation stuff, so fun to keep in mind how older technology works. I can see the influence in some of your drawings.
I love everything about your studio. So much character. I think it just shows how long you've been working as an artist and how passionate you are in your job. I try to keep mine organized because I have a very small workspace but I aspire this kind of setting some day :)
Loved seeing your space! Especially all the vintage/antiques and little bits and bobs from travels. I love being surrounded by things like that as well. 😄 Looking forward to more videos from you, they’re so interesting to watch, and you create absolutely stunning works!
Love your videos and work, studio is a great space, I’m in a spare bedroom, I’ve just come back to art after a long time spent in sport which is why I stopped my art, but your work inspires me, thank you
Hi? I'm an engineering student, and it's really amazing and cool that you seem to be really enjoying it. Will I enjoy my work someday? I'm still feeling helpless and sad today, but I feel a little better watching you shine. Wish me good enjoy. Thank you keep shining..
Your work is really amazing! The book covers are really nice, and I didn't know you worked on Inside Out 2! That concept art is so cool! Really nice video! I look forward to whatever you're cooking up next! 🖐😄✨
Excited to see your lovely studio! I was just wondering where and how you usually do your digital work since I saw your concept work for Inside Out 2 but I didnt see a tablet there, or maybe you just simply finish them on Ipad?
@@eeriepona Thank you! I completely forgot to mention my digital tools. On Inside Out 2 I mostly worked digitally with Procreate on the ipad pro. I still use it to clean up my drawings, but the majority of my work now is traditional so I don’t use it nearly as often.
Nik, a question please on paper. You note that you use illustration board and Bristol paper. Is this what you’re using when working with watercolor? Thank you again for sharing information.
Really awesome to see, I'm a sucker for a good studio tour video, especially since I'm just now creating my own space for creating my art. And a big Hell Yes! to using books for reference and inspiration. My wife and I have gone a bit nuts with the books, especially art books. We've literally run out of shelf space for them all at the moment, haha. It's so easy to get carried away and yet they're so fantastic to have when you need them. Anyway, keep up the channel, it's been great watching your work. I went ahead and gave you a follow over on Instagram as well. Cheers!

I always love seeing where the art happens! Thanks for the tour
Great vid Nik. A view into the artist mind. Also, enjoyable to compare your settings against my own for new and refreshing ideas!

Your videos are so great! I've been sharing them with my university students a lot this semester
That looks like the ideal cozy studio! Seems like all the best artists have a workspace that could be defined as "organized chaos."

Your video is beautifully inspiring. I left illustration a while ago. Now I know I gotta go back to drawing.

Thank you very much, your drawings is very exciting for me, and meditate a lot)
(English not my native language, sorry)
Your work reminds me of the Codex Seraphinianus Book by Luigi Serafini
You look exactly like i had imagined
Awesome studio!
:)
Nik, a question please on paper. You note that you use illustration board and Bristol paper. Is this what you’re using when working with watercolor? Thank you again for sharing information.
@@corkbour7708 In the videos I am primarily using illustration board, I prefer it because it doesn’t warp as easy when painting.
awesome, thanks Nik. That was the concern I had with Bristol. The bulk of my Bristol work has thus far been pen with marker.
紅の豚 of course 😊
@@よしあけ-d6t My favorite movie!
