  • Instructional video on how to install a fabulous Translogic quickshifter on your R Nine T. An absolute must if you're blasting your bike around a track, this quickshifter is totally plug and play.
    *Quick update - best to remove the upper shift lever off the spline and rotate it clockwise a few teeth to give a bit better clearance of the quickshifter unit to the swingarm. Gives you more thread to secure the unit to the lower part of the linkage.

    Just fitted mine however I'm getting PWR 1, PWR 2 and RPM LED's but the sensor LED isn't lighting on a shift unless I give it alot more pressure by which point it's already changed gear. Checked all the rods and they are tight. Sensor just seems to need alot more pressure. The manual says that this is normal on a stationery bike. I've tested on the road once but I'm a little worried as I don't know if the sensor is doing its job.

    Hello, the video was really informative, though I was wondering, don't you have to set the amount of time the shifter cuts the ignition ? That's my main concern on installing a shifter, I'm not sure if I'll be able to set it up properly.
    Also, why do you plug the shifter on the injectors ? Isn't it supposed to be plugged on the coils ?

    • @thatrninetguy
      @thatrninetguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Everything is pre-set by Translogic in the factory so I didn't need to touch the timing at all. However, if you are concerned about the timing on your bike, the manual is very clear on how to make adjustments which is just a turn of a screw on the back of the unit.
      Why did I plug the shifter on the injectors? Because that's what you need to do! At least that's the setup for the R Nine T. Other bikes will differ no doubt.
      Finally, if you have questions, the support from Translogic is fantastic - they're a very nice bunch of people to deal with. All the best and safe riding.

    I found several of your videos really helpful. Easy to follow with all the information one could need. I noticed on your track video that you had a problem with the bike not starting that was claimed by BMW(?) to be the quickshifter. I'm a little worried, since I plan to put the Translogic Quickshifter on my bike as well. Was there ever a solution to the problem? Are you still using the quickshifter with no new problems?

    • @thatrninetguy
      @thatrninetguy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Martias. I should have a new video up today discussing the issue. The problem was where I mounted the ECU. The harmonics of the big twin motor upset the ECU. Translogic were awesome and sent me out a new one and I mounted on the ledge under the rear of the tank. It works perfectly without any issues. Get one, mate - you won't regret it.

      @@thatrninetguy Ok, 2 years later and I've still not mounted it.. This season (starting now in Sweden) should be the one though. A follow up question if you may, Have you had any additional issues with it in the past 2 years? Since the original QS unit was damaged by the harmonics/vibrations (my guess is IMU failure) I'd like to take in your experience of now "long term reliability testing" of the new placement and QS solution as a whole. Still status quo or something to add on the topic?

      @@mattiasfransson8637 Hi, Mattias. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Re. the vibration issue, that wasn't actually the problem. It was just a problem with the electronics. The team at Translogic sent me out another unit and it has been perfect. Give it a go, mate. You'll love it!

      @@thatrninetguy Thanks for your quick reply and I'm happy it's a reassuring one. Ok, so what you're saying is that your part2 is correct with regards to customer service, but not to root cause due to vibration and that after Translogic did additional analysis they determined that there was a electrical failure of the part not from harmonics/vibrations? I will anyway mount it as you did in part2 just in case. Still it would be good to know.
