  • Today, I share with you the trends I have seen so far in stock video sales up to June 2023. In this sales and earnings report, I will tell you what has been selling along with actual clips that have sold.
    Sorry that I have been away for so long. I was traveling throughout the Middle East all of May and when I returned, I caught a virus and lost my voice. But all is well and I am glad to be back and sharing this information with you. I hope it is helpful.
    In my next video, I intend to try out the iPhone 14 Pro for stock video use. Early indications are that it is a good tool for stock video. See you then.
    Thanks for watching and please consider liking and subscribing to my small channel.

      @@GreendogProductions - I would love that. We lived in North Yorkshire, England in the 1990s and went to Ireland on vacation. We had so much fun. People were amazingly friendly and kind. We also looked for historic “Fitzgerald” family places, but honestly, we are not sure what our genealogy there.

    Interesting report thanks. I've not tried filming my own home with a drone, but it sounds a good idea.
    I use the iPhone 13 pro and it's worth taking the odd shot if you otherwise don't have a camera on you. The Cinematic mode can be a bit hit and miss because it tends to blur too much, so I would shoot in normal too as a backup

    • @boycefitzgerald
      @boycefitzgerald  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the advice on the iPhone. With the 14 pro, you can edit the cinematic feature in post and change the focus area as well as the blur effect and it is 4k so less of a reason to have regular video mode as a backup. That’s all I’ve learned so far as I’ve only had it about 10 days. Thanks for watching. Good luck with your stock portfolio.

    Cool report. I’ve also sold clips from iPhone X and from my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I think it just depended on the content you’re able to capture.

    Great insights!! Recently agreed to the subscription model of Blackbox. How do I figure out which footage sold out on subscription sales from blackbox?

    • @boycefitzgerald
      @boycefitzgerald  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you get emails for sales notifications, they will be listed there, I think. Those sales reports come in sporadically. The amount I have been earning on subscription sales continues to increase.

      @@FilmshooterOH - that much in sales indicates a very strong performance for the clips you have. Well done. When I started with no experience, my clips were not very imaginative or unique. You’re doing great!

    I wonder how you would do if you skipped Blackbox and went right to each site on their own. Then earnings could be higher possibly. I haven't used Black Box and take card of all my own accounts. I understand the time savings though. I am curious how they also handled the extra earnings of datasets and what not through BB, since there was not detailed info about what clips they were for. Hope they paid you for that.

    • @boycefitzgerald
      @boycefitzgerald  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I tried doing it without BB for a while. I didn’t like it at all. I worked much harder - to upload and do the curation on multiple sites. Additionally, many of the sites pay you based on the number of clips and that resets each year. So you get paid 30% per sale, for example, until you have 1,000 clips uploaded in that calendar year. This is just an example. I don’t recall the actual price schedule. The point is that with BB and because we submit as a group, we reach the top tier the first day of the year because of the size of the group. After trying on my own,l for about a year, it wasn’t for me. I think people with unique content that can create a recognizable portfolio should go at it on their own. I don’t fit that. For the dataset, I get an email each month with the clip data and profits.
      By the way, I enjoy your channel. I think we are neighbors. I live in Lehi. I think you shared with me some places you do time lapses around Utah Lake. Going to Goblin Valley this weekend for nightscape time lapses.

      @@boycefitzgerald Yes we have chatted a little be a little while ago. I wonder if we got the same stupid virus too! I got nasty bacteria infection in my throat after shooting at Utah Lake early last month as a windstorm blasted it. The only thing I can think is something kicked up from that my body didn't like. Worst I have ever felt, but I still go shoot down there anyway :) I think the only real company now that pays more based off higher sales qty is Shutterstock, so I totally get that. As for the rest they don't seem to give you that option. But programs change all the time, and yes organizing, metadata writing, and submitting to all the various places does take time. But I don't think BB hits all of them. As long as your making $$ thats what matters! As for the "dataset" thing, pond 5 did something where they paid a big extra amount last month for using clips to train Ai. I got a big bonus for that, but there is no details about what clips or how. That is where I wonder how BB could have made sure to give you your rightful share as there was no report provided. Just want to make sure your getting your max! Keep it up, and thanks for sharing!
