Fantastic, just the right amount of detail from start to finish! This will definitely help me in my upcoming attempt of rebuilding my Matrix engine (oil leaks, burning oil which is fouling up my catalytic converter). Thanks for your superb step-by-step instructions and tips!
Great video! I must say, very impressed by how much you managed to do with only one hand while recording! Also liked that you got really good camera angles on what you were talking about instead of just trying to explain and describe with words like so many other people. I'm a visual learner and this was exactly what I was looking for! Can't thank you enough!
I just purchased a Pontiac vibe for 800 dollars with 267k miles and still runs good but planning on replacing the motor and transmission and I don’t think I’d be able to do it without this video def the best one I’ve been able to find I just hope mine goes as smoothly as yours seemed too. Big thanks for this video
used your video to pull the engine out of my car didnt need the transmission few tips for other people if your replacing engine make sure your alternator has the right wires and make sure you dont have a pulley inplace of where your power steering pump goes otherwise great video!
Definitely great cars , one of the best and well worth fixing. These cars get really good mpg too . Hope all goes smoothly and thank you for the great feedback.
Great vid. Looks like you got Toyota red/pink in the rad. Did you swap it or was it that way? You obviously know about the differences and some folks are of the opinion that some vibes came with red/pink from the factory as opposed to the orange GM coolant. Also..,your thoughts on undoing the ball joint versus the strut/knuckle bolts. You apprently can move the knuckle out of the way sort of backwards by just u doing the ball joint….I guess reason being that u doing the strut to knuckle bolts has the potential of affecting camber/alignment? Thansk
I guess the red/pink was the original. I usually just keep whatever is in a vehicle. I believe removing the ball joint to be the best method to avoid an alignment for sure. Having said that it all depends if I have recently performed an alignment. If not I will take it loose from the knuckle and get an alignment once the jobs complete. Sometimes removing the ball joint can be a real pain for sure , if it has not been disturbed. I appreciate your feedback , and thank you for watching.
@@s33therfan well I’m talking about removing the ball joint via the three bolt/nuts at the control arm…definitely not at the castle But yeah, I totally get it. I’m still learning frankly lol.
Great job. But it kinda blows me away that all the work one goes through to remove an engine and no one ever removes the hood. So much easier. I generally leave the washer hose attached and feed it up from under the fender liner…easier than working to get under the insulation to monkey with the spray nozzle.

Great video! Curious why you removed the engine if only swapping the transmission.
Great job watched the video till the end lol almost fell asleep but very helpful video 😅 keep up the good work sir 👌👍
Thank you very much for the kind words sir , and hope it helps out a lot . Thank you for watching
Have you experienced any electrical problems from pressure washing the engine? Did you cover any parts, or did you just avoid electrical components?
I have never had any issues but I usually avoid electrical boxes or cover them with a trash bag.. Thanks for watching.

Helped me replace my 03 engine thanks
Thank you for the great feedback and thanks for watching.
I guess I’m taking my engine out! I can’t find any videos on just the transmission after I lost all my gears
Thank you for watching.
Thanks, nice explanations.
Thank you for watching.
This same for awd matrix?
Would be basically the same procedure but with a little more to work around with the transfer case etc. Thanks for watching.
@@s33therfan Do you happen to know for AWD models if the transfer case requires removal to separate the U140F from the engine?

@@s33therfan have been weighing on whether or not to do this, or if it isn't just time to replace it entirely.
Can you take it from the bottom ?
Absolutely , thanks for the question.
