    My dealership quoted $2100 for this! Did it myself following this video and saved over $1900!

    Thanks for the video- I was a little intimidated at first but I followed your instructions and SUCCESS! I think my mechanic quoted me at $150 just for the plugs and labor but I did all 4 plugs and coils for about $60 for parts. Thank you Thank you Thank you :)

    You have the best video explaining this. I am a woman who has always felt intimidated by working on my car on my own. This has made me realize how easy some things can be. Thank you! I'm going to do this myself this week!

Hope i dont have to buy a horse and cart!!!! Female here- not a fan of high price mechanic jobs. Ugh. Could be a sparkplug. coil packs on napa are like 100$ each. i'm not sure i trust a 4 pack for about 50 $. And can I only change the spark plugs without changing the coil packs ?

      @@followurheart1 after some more research I found that you can do it and then you can change coil packs if they need to be changed. I don't think you'll ruin your new spark plugs, and anyway spark plugs are cheap. But don't take my words seriously I'm not 100 % sure of what I say.

    • @slalomking
      @slalomking 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can change the plugs without replacing the coil packs. I've done it twice now on my 2007 Vibe with 240K miles. Don't put any anitseize on the spark plug threads, they are made to come out okay with their normal coating. I only use the Toyota plugs, and I would only use a Toyota Coil when or if it is ever needed. I don't like cheap parts. There can be big quality difference in parts.

    I am here because my car wont start, or if it does, it idles very very terrible. Code says cylinder 2 misfire. Its a pontiac wave g3 (2009). Hopefully this will fix the problem.... It has been too cold for working on it and too cold to start the car (below 0 Celsius to -15 C). The car started and actually idled one day that it was 5 C outside.

    I have a 2009 Pontiac vibe and it has a little bit of a I think it's a misfire at the transition from at 1800 it drops down after it shifts gear into a higher gear and I get a little bit of a rumble rumble that sounds like possibly a misfire and it's also burn some oil so I'm thinking that's why I'm going to replace this to you basically get rid of the rumble and also to check to see if like you said the gasket me a failed and maybe oil getting in one of these cylinders making it misfire. What do you think?

It has been beat to hell and back my my boys and myself and it has yet to fail me other than having the normal keep up I’ve only had to replace starter & radiator! And this will be the second time changing coil packs & plugs! I have 262,000 miles and it’s still runny great!

    Always use copper antiseize on spark plug threads , because the head is aluminum. 23 Nm. You can hear the dry squeek when you removed the old plugs , because they were not coated with antiseize before install.

    • @slalomking
      @slalomking 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      NO do not use antiseize on the threads. It is very hard to get them out the next time. I know. The Toyota plugs will come out fine. Aftermarket, you take your chances.

      If the coil packs are from China, they'll be a problem. See if you can find Denso coil packs, original equipment. Yeah, they cost more, but they're worth it. Replace the #2 with a Denso.
