1-Very important to stand up after eating (walking is of course better), this is why I like to wash dishes after meal, it's like a routine to force me to stand up. 2- reduce coffee, you might think it helps because it accelerates digestion but it's just screwing the natural rythm of your digestion. 3- drink frequently during the day. Water is fundamental in the process of digesting. 4- chew a lot your food (I did all those steps and it helps me a lot + I stopped cheese for dinner , since I'm French it was the most difficult part :)
I'm not French but Cheese constipates me but it makes some veggies more edible. Eating salads constipates me, maybe not drinking enough water bc its very fiberous.

I bloated. I found out I had stage 3 ovarian cancer. I was told by doctor I trusted at the time. I was just eating wrong (for 2 years) until I had to go to the ER when my bloat turned into 9 month pregnant look in less than a week. ER diagnosed Ovarian Cancer, tumor had ruptured. If I had listened to my "trusted" doctor and not have gone to the ER, I would have been dead before the week was out. I got surgery within 48 hours after diagnosis. Today, I am 8 years remission. I had a full hysterectemy, which could have been avoided if I had gotten tests when the bloating was not clearing up with "proper" diet. Get tests, make sure the bloating isn't something else. Get second, even third opinions. I am a survivor, but some days (because I and my husband had wanted children) I wish I wasn't. We don't make enough to adopt. I refuse to foster, in case I become attached to a child I have to give back.
I was experiencing severe bloating in my gut. Fibre appeared to be the worst trigger. Spent 2k on private healthcare to be told IBS and shunned. I mentioned SIBO and was scoffed at. @@worstfate First, I did an elimination diet (eliminate all dairy, wheat, sugar, etc.) and then added food groups one by one to see what caused issues. Dr. Berg's list on the right side of his board includes lots of what made me bloat. Everyone is different, but many of the foods I reacted to are on his list - excessive fiber, dairy, wheat, corn, etc. I discovered I needed more enzymes and acid in my stomach - Dr. Berg's Advanced Digestive Formula helped me immensely (contains betaine HCL and other excellent ingredients). I also took Dr. Berg's bile salt product, Gallbladder Formula, for a while and that helped too. Now, I just use them as needed. I make sure I monitor my eating habits and repeat the above if I start having problems again. But I've never had to go back to square one, so everything I'm doing is working for me. I wish you all success too. It's a lifelong practice with adjustments along the way!
I highly recommend fasting and cutting down on sugar. The only sugar I consume is with my coffee or tea. And reduce your caffeine intake. Just so you know , sugar has many names in label packaging like lactose , glucose , sorbitol , corn syrup , fructose , concentrated juices etc2. Stop all these and you’ll feel better! My bloating feeling gone , bowel movements became smooth and most importantly , I feel extremely energized. Combined this with low impact exercise / walking (if you hate exercise), you’ll feel great !

Two weeks ago I'd had ENOUGH of feeling and looking five months pregnant. I began almost cutting out bread. Potatoes. Biscuits and cake. I dance and stretch..thirty mins a day. Do stomach massages. Five mins of floor stretches. Plus a probiotic. I feel Great. My PJs are falling off. I'm very happy. I will continue this.
My bloating was caused by lack of hydrochloric acid. I also had severe hair loss. After starting taking Betaine hcl, I finally have flat stomach again and my hair started growing back!

Grate up some fresh ginger, mix with fresh lemon juice & a little water. Then divide up into an ice cube tray & freeze..... Just pop 2 or 3 cubes into any cold drink!
I have bloating for as far back as I can remember. I recently stooped taking fruit juice, and cut down on fruit intake, I fast every now and then, cut down sugar, stopping taking carbonated drinks, and suddenly , the constant bloating stopped. I feel much better these days

Oh my goodness. I just realized from this video, that the only time I haven't been so bloated that I've looked pregnant (despite being in really good shape) was when I was on vacation in Mexico. Some helpful ideas...Eating a lot of food quickly can cause bloating and abdominal pain regardless of the type of food, so prepare smaller portions, take smaller bites and chew slowly...Avoid chewing gum and sucking on hard candy, as they cause you to swallow more air than normal. ...Check your dentures frequently because if they don't fit you will cause you to swallow more air when you eat or drink...Lie on your stomach and try to get the gases out...Make your stomach slowly in a downward motion when lying on your back to help move the gases down.. Drink plenty of water, and don't leave yourself dehydrated.
I went 66 years with chronic constipation and bloating so severely at times I couldn't get my breath. I've had an auto immune disease diagnosed at 58 which caused me to need CT scans twice a year for 8 years. I had complained to drs for years about the bloating and constipation and taken every drug out and otc out there. Finally at 66 an x-ray tech spotted the problem. I have a herniated diaphragm. Bockdalek hernia. It's flattened my right lung and my stomach and potions of intestine are in my diaphragm. After all these years and all the CT scans now the damage is beyond repair. It's caused end stage copd and the immune suppressant drugs for the other disease has caused too many issues to list. Just saying....dont always assume it's an easy issue to fix. Make sure it's not something serious before it's too late to fix.

You nailed it agan. This relates very much to me. Did a 3,5 Day Fast due to a test in Hospital. Sugar did not went down. My stool was right after the fast.. like little stones that have been at least 3,5 days...somewhere in intestins.. but are now out! I feel much better since quitting Sugar 2 Weeks ago. No more spikes. I do these massages and they really help even take bloating pressure from the heart and reduce palpitations. The told me that i have a tumor in the pancreas... today after some tests they say the dont know what it is but there is some tissue clearly affected. Carnivore & fasting have given me progress and relief with sibo. Nothing else has worked. I take betaine hcl and some digestive enzymes with my One meal a day of fatty beef and organic coffee. I was high veg keto for 4 yrs plus sauerkraut when sibo started. Had super flat stomach and very happy mood & energy for years. Sibo has given me constant bloat and horrible brain/mood problems. Different personality which has been frightening. I landed on carnivore out of desperation of everything else failing. 24-48hr fasts give me the most relief and i believe is healing me till hopefully one day I can have a few veggies again. Im also committed to a low oxalate protocol even taken all seasonings out other than quality salt. Slowly my brain/mood episodes are decreasing but I have had to be radical with my approach. I pray I can be restored but for now OMAD carnivore & fasting is helping. Keep your colon empty. I hope healing for other sibo fighters out there. 🙏🏼
My sister died in 2015 and that is when I found Dr.Berg. This video sounds like what was going on with my sister. She got cancer of the stomach and before that she had lots of bloating and gas. She took chemo. Maybe had she fasted before Chemo she would still be alive.

Since Swedish people celebrate Christmas on 24 December I was with family and relatives yesterday. There were of course *lots* of food and I thought I wouldn't think so much about my health this day and loaded my plate with a the goodies there were! Gues what? I could hardly finish it all. My stomach was too small! And I didn't want to eat chocolate, bread and cookies because I wasn't longing for it at all! @@Drberg I guess that the ham is in the center of the bonanza, but most things are decorated with sugar since that was very expensive back in the days. We eat "Janssons frestelse" which is a potato dish made in the oven with a kind of pickled sardell and heavy cream in it. Gravlax is common and oven baked ribs too. Most of it is ok if it wasn't for all the sugar!
I would add to check for allergies. I was feeling bloated for years when I found out - by accident when my doctor was doing some blood work - that I was allergic to celery. After learning which of my foods contained parts of celery, the bloating went away. Such a relief!
Thank you for talking about the pancreas!!!!! Many do not talk about it or forget how important it is. Years of alcoholism killed this organ in me. Since being away from it I have lost so much weight and feel much better. Booze has a huge impact on this organ a lot of times more so than the liver.

I've had stomach problems since I was teen in the 90s been to many doctors have had 4 colonoscopys so far they don't find anything wrong. Tried dieting and excersing with a trainer after 3 weeks of that I was so tired, worn out, and dehydrated I ended up in the hospital and lost my job. The research continues for me
B12 deficiency / pernicious anaemia is linked to stomach issues. GPs do not necessarily know about it. Ask for intrinsic factor antibodies test. Look up ‘diagnosing b12 deficiency ‘ on TH-cam ( doctors and nurses explaining very well including failings of medical system to treat this common condition)
@@glorias4462 the intrinsic factor antibody test (for pernicious anaemia ) is only 50% accurate . For b12 deficiency the range is set too low . In U.K. about 280 depending on area . In other countries they treat anything under 500 .
I gave up gluten dairy soy and grains! No more bloating excessive gas and burping, also no more joint pain! All the pain in my knees and elbows went away!
Dr. Berg, I am 65 yrs. old, recently found out my sugar is high. 10 months ago I had breast cancer and a mastectomy on one side. I had my thyroid removed quite a number of years ago because of cancer. My medicine for my thyroid is too high but my doctor said he is not going to change it. When seeing his nurse practitioner about what my recent test said regarding my glucose level, she breezed over all my concerns, including the second time I told her of the pain beneath my left rib. I had MRI before my cancer detection and I was okay in that area. I showed her a rash I have on my lower abdomen and she said to use DOVE hypoallergenic soap. I haven't used anything that has ever caused a rash. I do faintly recall itching when prediabetic years ao. I weigh 130, 5'3". To say I am frustrated is an understatement. I am trying to do and eat right for years. I am wondering if the honey I put in my tea is counterproductive. Though raw honey is excellent for you. Any thoughts Dr.Berg would be appreciated. Chewing your food thoroughly helps too. Last evening I ate a 1/2 lb cheeseburger and bowl of chicken Alfredo that would've normally bloated me, but I had zero indigestion and woke up with a flat stomach. I did pull off most of the bread from the bun though, and made sure not to overstuff my stomach. I was full but not 'stuffed'. ☺

Bloating for me has got worse the older I get. I went on a carnivore diet, because I suspected vegetables, especially raw ones, were causing my problems. This resolved everything. Contrary to the received wisdom, cutting out fibre was the big one. I used to eat lots of vegetables thinking it would help my digestion and couldn’t figure out why my “toilet habits” were worse the next day. Bread and pasta don’t help either.

Stress induced bloating was the cause for me. Perhaps, all u needed is a break. Take some time off, get your mind off anything stressful and see if it helps.

Omg you are an hero dr berg! From what you say all indicates that I have a SIBO. People tell me: you have a poor gut flora, eat more probiotics, it will help you but in fact it makes me feel worse. People tell me, eat saurkraut but it makes not much of a change. Stop eating jung food, ok that helps, especially white bread, its a damn poison. But what u say here, garlic helps. I love garlic and I am very attracted to it as well as to oregano. When I get bloated in a better case I fart it out but in worse case it just stays inside and its damn uncomfortable. Each time I eat lot of fruits and veggies I fart like a baloon. Meat, eggs do good to me. I am definitelly going to try that...i forgot hiw its ..that supplement to higher my stomac acidity

I had all these symptoms for three years, progressively getting worse. I was recently diagnosed with Gastroparesis. I tried the suggestions of Dr. Berg, and they DID help, but I kept getting worse, so my PCP referred me to a GI doctor for diagnosis. Dr. Berg has helped me so much over the years, and I love his videos! I frequently recommend him to my friends.

A lot of bloating is caused by the way people eat. They either take in too much air while eating. Or eat to fast. Relax. Chew. Enjoy. Try not to gulp or take in air whilst eating. It’s hard and needs practice.
Also, after heart surgery, I learned that a lot of our meds work by blocking. For example, blood thinners block vitamin K. It's a method that reeks havoc on the system.

This video made so much sense, I have been suspecting the fluid retention in my intestine for such a long time. I started to sound crazy to myself, the fact that I would go through severe headaches with my right should pain radiating to my neck. Thank you for understanding SIBO and putting out this information. The general knowledge being put out for gut health is to take probiotics, fermented foods and eat more fiber. That is the exact opposite of what works for SIBO and it's making people worse who are undiagnosed. What's helped me the most with my SIBO is focusing on supporting my bile production, liver function and stomach acid levels - exactly what you always say. I had to eat cooked veggies only for several years and just recently I've been able to eat two salads a day. I really missed my salads.
@@glorias4462 I've never done the baking soda test. I couldn't use ACV because of my h. pylori infection. Haven't tried it yet to see but I don't feel like I need it now. It's not dangerous to take them, but you will know if you don't need them. Too much oxbile will give you diarrhea and too much betaine HCL will give you heartburn. Look up how to dose them. I've never heard of overdosing on digestive enzymes.
44 now and bloating has gotten worse the last year and now causes ectopic heart beats through the vagus nerve. Gastrocardia is horrible and not many docs know about it. You've mentioned elsewhere that insufficient stomach acid can also increase chances of SIBO, as sufficient stomach acid will kill off the inappropriate bacteria and spare the good that can make its way to the colon.

Thank you Dr. Berg for forcing me to find out what my issue was. I had severe bloating/constipation for 5 years.. lots of so called specialists and a colonoscopy telling me nothing is out of the ordinary. I went for an independent food intolerance test and everything was OK but Dairy. A big red flag saying don't consume dairy products. 5 years of pain and incompetence from doctors. I would obviously recommend a food intol test to everyone. If you can't afford it, keep a log of your food and isolate what it could be. Since stopping dairy my stomach has gone back to normal and I feel like a normal person again.
Thanks so much for giving the important information here! One crucial point that may be missing is Candida overgrowth. I believe that affects several or all of the systems you mention and is therefore hard to diagnose. It can cause not only bloating and nausea but can induce coughing, I believe, as the Candida filled air escapes up the wind pipe forcing the Candida to build in the throat and lungs. The resolution for that is unfortunately complicated. There are some products that help such as Formula SF722.
@@karenmcardle142 In the last few weeks I've gone on a 14/10 fast everday and a semi ketogenic diet (radically reducing processed and simple carbs but not eliminating them entirely). Mostly now I no longer need to use Formula SF722. Dr. Berg's videos on Candida are important to watch.
@@coldsteelprogressive They sure are , this past couple of years i have had so many antibiotics i could have opened my own pharmacy , I have watched a great number of Dr Bergs videos now and another dr called ( Dr Mandel) I have definitely changed a lot about my diet and still eat carbs. I take inhalers and everytime I end up with thrush on my tongue. Even with cleaning with water and cloves.

Thanks for one more excellent video, Dr Berg. However, I would also do some research on Candida infection, that causes a LOT of gas and bloating. Remembering that candida infections increased a lot because of antibiotics and is causing a lot of underlying diseases. This is my experience on Biorresonance and Energetic Medicine. Thank you again

Amazing content! Merry Christmas and thank you! I have been eating Carnivore for about a year, strict Keto before that. The fats have been an issue. In fact, my whole digestive tract has had difficulties, off and on! This fly-over review of the whole system and accompanying symptoms was phenomenal! I am much closer to an answer! I also do intermittent fasting plus kimchi and Apple Cider Vinegar! Whole milk, plain yogurt seems to really help. But not all the time. Bile salt pills were only partially helpful. I am going to re-listen and make some more changes. Definitely the gallbladder and likely the small intestine. I also probably damaged the pancreas in my old way of eating. So we have lots of work to do! Thank you!

Been taking betaine hcl and it's night and day. Not only was I bloated to all hell I was irregular going once every 2 or sometimes 3 days when you should be going 3-4 times a day. Now I'm more regular, lost weight and have less bloating 🙏🏼
Is there a test you took, did you see a doctor? I have bloating after ever meal and burping, but not sure how to fix that. After watching a few of his videos on this subject I am not sure where the issue is stemming from for me (small intestines, low stomach acid, liver, etc) How did you know?

Talking about stress making your bloating get worse throughout the day made me realize that I *_think_* a major cause of my bloating for the last month (which has been a COMPLETE mystery to me) is the *death of my father.* Who would have put that together??? I was going over my diet and habits with a fine toothed comb to no avail. Thank you, Dr. Berg.
I suffered from bloating, so found myself listening to Dr Berg channel, trying to figure out if this was due to me eating diary in Greek yoghurt or eating can of black beans in one day over 2meals😂 I cooked the beans b4 I ate. Then I decided to eat a big chunk of ginger while I was cooking as my Tummy was painful. Then the pain disappeared, I passed wind instead 😂 Ginger saved the day for me!

Great information. I love these videos. One part not mentioned though is the illeosecrum Value that can be a problem. It's between the small and large intestines. If it doesn't open or close as it should it causes a back up of digestion, bloating, gas, fermentation and yeast issues.
@@chavachava6400 I some how missed your question until now. You can actually massage it. I've seen several you tube videos from different chiropractors who do great job showing how to do it. You will feel the difference. It is usually sore in that very area and will notice a change in your digestion like a reset button. ChlorOxygen drops also helps the body as with it as well. There is one important thing you forgot to mention, that hormones play a very important part in bloating. I wake up with a flat stomach and can pretty much eat anything in the morning and during the day. However, come around 5 pm, I will start to get bloated, even without eating. Through my research, in my case, hormonal imbalance is causing lower gastric acid in the early to late evening!
Dr. Berg I wish you would make a supplement for Candida with cloves, garlic, thyme, myrrh, etc. We all need something because bloating is caused a lot from yeast when we deviate from eating correctly. Please make a video on this.
So, I started having a slight dizziness that threw me off from my routine. Originally, I thought it was because I stopped taking my Allithiamine vitamin B1 for deficiency, so that I could see if benfotiamine could take its place... it's cheaper to take than Allithiamine. But when the dizziness began, I started taking Allithiamine again, but the slight dizziness persisted. I found other possibilities for my dizziness and made sure I took the appropriate vitamins to help with the possible causes for dizziness, but nothing seemed to work. I didn't try the Epley maneuver, because I was convinced that it was a vitamin B1 issue... then I FINALLY did the Epley maneuver and found significant relief, but even as slight as the dizziness was, I was still ever so slightly dizzy with a bit of nausea, but I kept doing the exercise up to this morning and I finally feel all the way stable. But then as the day wore on, I began feeling bloating thinking I had to go number 2, but it never came, and the bloating kept getting painfully worse... until I sought Dr Berg's advice again and found this video... and I just want to give you another big THANK YOU... it didn't take long to get the relief. And thank you for all your videos... I can't count how many times your videos have helped me... I've been using them for the last year or so and have needed them because of my age (64), I know friends and family who went to the hospital for a lot of exact same issues I've been having, but I've been able to deal with them by myself without a dr prescribing me pharmaceutical medicine (poison).
I would suggest that walking, walking enough steps a day is super important for digestion. 15/20 minutes walking after a meal helps too.

1-Very important to stand up after eating (walking is of course better), this is why I like to wash dishes after meal, it's like a routine to force me to stand up.
2- reduce coffee, you might think it helps because it accelerates digestion but it's just screwing the natural rythm of your digestion.
3- drink frequently during the day. Water is fundamental in the process of digesting.
4- chew a lot your food
(I did all those steps and it helps me a lot + I stopped cheese for dinner , since I'm French it was the most difficult part :)

I did try standing (doing dishes) and moving around some after eating helps a little too. Actually standing up straight is key. Slouching won't digest food well either.
I bloated. I found out I had stage 3 ovarian cancer. I was told by doctor I trusted at the time. I was just eating wrong (for 2 years) until I had to go to the ER when my bloat turned into 9 month pregnant look in less than a week. ER diagnosed Ovarian Cancer, tumor had ruptured. If I had listened to my "trusted" doctor and not have gone to the ER, I would have been dead before the week was out. I got surgery within 48 hours after diagnosis. Today, I am 8 years remission. I had a full hysterectemy, which could have been avoided if I had gotten tests when the bloating was not clearing up with "proper" diet. Get tests, make sure the bloating isn't something else. Get second, even third opinions. I am a survivor, but some days (because I and my husband had wanted children) I wish I wasn't. We don't make enough to adopt. I refuse to foster, in case I become attached to a child I have to give back.

I was experiencing severe bloating in my gut. Fibre appeared to be the worst trigger. Spent 2k on private healthcare to be told IBS and shunned. I mentioned SIBO and was scoffed at. @@worstfate First, I did an elimination diet (eliminate all dairy, wheat, sugar, etc.) and then added food groups one by one to see what caused issues. Dr. Berg's list on the right side of his board includes lots of what made me bloat. Everyone is different, but many of the foods I reacted to are on his list - excessive fiber, dairy, wheat, corn, etc. I discovered I needed more enzymes and acid in my stomach - Dr. Berg's Advanced Digestive Formula helped me immensely (contains betaine HCL and other excellent ingredients). I also took Dr. Berg's bile salt product, Gallbladder Formula, for a while and that helped too. Now, I just use them as needed. I make sure I monitor my eating habits and repeat the above if I start having problems again. But I've never had to go back to square one, so everything I'm doing is working for me. I wish you all success too. It's a lifelong practice with adjustments along the way!
I highly recommend fasting and cutting down on sugar. The only sugar I consume is with my coffee or tea. And reduce your caffeine intake. Just so you know , sugar has many names in label packaging like lactose , glucose , sorbitol , corn syrup , fructose , concentrated juices etc2. Stop all these and you’ll feel better! My bloating feeling gone , bowel movements became smooth and most importantly , I feel extremely energized. Combined this with low impact exercise / walking (if you hate exercise), you’ll feel great !

Iam doing plank exercise every day. That help my stomach keep flat and strong contraction. And jogging every week is good for blood circulation..

Two weeks ago I'd had ENOUGH of feeling and looking five months pregnant. I began almost cutting out bread. Potatoes. Biscuits and cake. I dance and stretch..thirty mins a day. Do stomach massages. My bloating was caused by lack of hydrochloric acid. I also had severe hair loss. After starting taking Betaine hcl, I finally have flat stomach again and my hair started growing back!

I have bloating for as far back as I can remember. I recently stooped taking fruit juice, and cut down on fruit intake, I fast every now and then, cut down sugar, stopping taking carbonated drinks, and suddenly , the constant bloating stopped. I feel much better these days

Oh my goodness. I just realized from this video, that the only time I haven't been so bloated that I've looked pregnant (despite being in really good shape) was when I was on vacation in Mexico. I live with chronic anxiety and as a single mom am stressed and busy to the max. I am absolutely going to start taking better care to get more sun, meditation, and getting my cortisol under control. Some helpful ideas...Eating a lot of food quickly can cause bloating and abdominal pain regardless of the type of food, so prepare smaller portions, take smaller bites and chew slowly...Avoid chewing gum and sucking on hard candy, as they cause you to swallow more air than normal. ...Check your dentures frequently because if they don't fit you will cause you to swallow more air when you eat or drink...Lie on your stomach and try to get the gases out...Make your stomach slowly in a downward motion when lying on your back to help move the gases down.. Drink plenty of water, and don't leave yourself dehydrated.

I went 66 years with chronic constipation and bloating so severely at times I couldn't get my breath. I've had an auto immune disease diagnosed at 58 which caused me to need CT scans twice a year for 8 years. I had complained to drs for years about the bloating and constipation and taken every drug out and otc out there. Finally at 66 an x-ray tech spotted the problem. I have a herniated diaphragm. Bockdalek hernia. It's flattened my right lung and my stomach and potions of intestine are in my diaphragm. After all these years and all the CT scans now the damage is beyond repair. It's caused end stage copd and the immune suppressant drugs for the other disease has caused too many issues to list. Just saying....dont always assume it's an easy issue to fix. Make sure it's not something serious before it's too late to fix.

You nailed it agan. This relates very much to me. Did a 3,5 Day Fast due to a test in Hospital. Sugar did not went down. My stool was right after the fast.. like little stones that have been at least 3,5 days...somewhere in intestins.. but are now out!
I feel much better since quitting Sugar 2 Weeks ago. No more spikes. I do these massages and they really help even take bloating pressure from the heart and reduce palpitations. The told me that i have a tumor in the pancreas... today after some tests they say the dont know what it is but there is some tissue clearly affected. Carnivore & fasting have given me progress and relief with sibo. Nothing else has worked. I take betaine hcl and some digestive enzymes with my One meal a day of fatty beef and organic coffee. I was high veg keto for 4 yrs plus sauerkraut when sibo started. Had super flat stomach and very happy mood & energy for years. Sibo has given me constant bloat and horrible brain/mood problems. Different personality which has been frightening. I landed on carnivore out of desperation of everything else failing. 24-48hr fasts give me the most relief and i believe is healing me till hopefully one day I can have a few veggies again. Im also committed to a low oxalate protocol even taken all seasonings out other than quality salt. Slowly my brain/mood episodes are decreasing but I have had to be radical with my approach. I pray I can be restored but for now OMAD carnivore & fasting is helping. Keep your colon empty. I hope healing for other sibo fighters out there. 🙏🏼

My sister died in 2015 and that is when I found Dr.Berg. This video sounds like what was going on with my sister. She got cancer of the stomach and before that she had lots of bloating and gas. She took chemo. Maybe had she fasted before Chemo she would still be alive.

Thank you dr Berg. I've been fasting twice a week for about two months now after listening to your advice. Since Swedish people celebrate Christmas on 24 December I was with family and relatives yesterday. There were of course *lots* of food and I thought I wouldn't think so much about my health this day and loaded my plate with a the goodies there were! Gues what? I could hardly finish it all. My stomach was too small! And I didn't want to eat chocolate, bread and cookies because I wasn't longing for it at all! Sounds boring but *not at all!* We had a wonderful time me and my children and grandchildren.

@@Drberg I guess that the ham is in the center of the bonanza, but most things are decorated with sugar since that was very expensive back in the days. We eat "Janssons frestelse" which is a potato dish made in the oven with a kind of pickled sardell and heavy cream in it. Gravlax is common and oven baked ribs too. Most of it is ok if it wasn't for all the sugar!

I would add to check for allergies. I was feeling bloated for years when I found out - by accident when my doctor was doing some blood work - that I was allergic to celery. After learning which of my foods contained parts of celery, the bloating went away. Such a relief!

Thank you for talking about the pancreas!!!!! Many do not talk about it or forget how important it is. Years of alcoholism killed this organ in me. Since being away from it I have lost so much weight and feel much better. Booze has a huge impact on this organ a lot of times more so than the liver.

I've had stomach problems since I was teen in the 90s been to many doctors have had 4 colonoscopys so far they don't find anything wrong. Tried dieting and excersing with a trainer after 3 weeks of that I was so tired, worn out, and dehydrated I ended up in the hospital and lost my job. The research continues for me
B12 deficiency / pernicious anaemia is linked to stomach issues. GPs do not necessarily know about it. Ask for intrinsic factor antibodies test. Look up ‘diagnosing b12 deficiency ‘ on TH-cam ( doctors and nurses explaining very well including failings of medical system to treat this common condition)

@@glorias4462 the intrinsic factor antibody test (for pernicious anaemia ) is only 50% accurate . For b12 deficiency the range is set too low . In U.K. about 280 depending on area . In other countries they treat anything under 500 .
I gave up gluten dairy soy and grains! No more bloating excessive gas and burping, also no more joint pain! All the pain in my knees and elbows went away!

Dr. Berg, I am 65 yrs. old, recently found out my sugar is high. 10 months ago I had breast cancer and a mastectomy on one side. I had my thyroid removed quite a number of years ago because of cancer. My medicine for my thyroid is too high but my doctor said he is not going to change it.
When seeing his nurse practitioner about what my recent test said regarding my glucose level, she breezed over all my concerns, including the second time I told her of the pain beneath my left rib.
I had MRI before my cancer detection and I was okay in that area. I showed her a rash I have on my lower abdomen and she said to use DOVE hypoallergenic soap. I haven't used anything that has ever caused a rash. I do faintly recall itching when prediabetic years ao.
I weigh 130, 5'3". To say I am frustrated is an understatement. I am trying to do and eat right for years.
I am wondering if the honey I put in my tea is counterproductive. Though raw honey is excellent for you. Any thoughts Dr.Berg would be appreciated. Thank you!

Chewing your food thoroughly helps too. Last evening I ate a 1/2 lb cheeseburger and bowl of chicken Alfredo that would've normally bloated me, but I had zero indigestion and woke up with a flat stomach. I did pull off most of the bread from the bun though, and made sure not to overstuff my stomach. I was full but not 'stuffed'. ☺

I'm bloated & constipated right now ... also a lot of burping. Been intermittent as I'm getting older ... has become more noticeable with aging. Thanks for this info ... Bloating for me has got worse the older I get. I went on a carnivore diet, because I suspected vegetables, especially raw ones, were causing my problems. This resolved everything. Contrary to the received wisdom, cutting out fibre was the big one. I used to eat lots of vegetables thinking it would help my digestion and couldn’t figure out why my “toilet habits” were worse the next day. Bread and pasta don’t help either.
I started keto and loved it went visit my mother and my grandmother and man the home made biscuits and etc like to kill me I was bloated for the entire 3 days I was there… I don’t think it’s the bread I think it was just the food that my body was no longer use to

High fat carnivore diet for 4 months, 1x or 2x meals a day and just started a 144h fast to see if it helps with bloating I still have. I'm 55h already, horay! Will try the gallbladder formula too as I have pain in the area, floating stools and basically everything you said in this video. Tested for SIBO but came out negative.

Omg you are an hero dr berg! From what you say all indicates that I have a SIBO. People tell me: you have a poor gut flora, eat more probiotics, it will help you but in fact it makes me feel worse. People tell me, eat saurkraut but it makes not much of a change. Stop eating jung food, ok that helps, especially white bread, its a damn poison. But what u say here, garlic helps. I love garlic and I am very attracted to it as well as to oregano. When I get bloated in a better case I fart it out but in worse case it just stays inside and its damn uncomfortable. Each time I eat lot of fruits and veggies I fart like a baloon. Meat, eggs do good to me. I am definitelly going to try that...i forgot hiw its ..that supplement to higher my stomac acidity

I had all these symptoms for three years, progressively getting worse. I was recently diagnosed with Gastroparesis. I tried the suggestions of Dr. Berg, and they DID help, but I kept getting worse, so my PCP referred me to a GI doctor for diagnosis.

A lot of bloating is caused by the way people eat. They either take in too much air while eating. Or eat to fast. Relax. Chew. Enjoy. Try not to gulp or take in air whilst eating. It’s hard and needs practice.

Thank you for understanding SIBO and putting out this information. The general knowledge being put out for gut health is to take probiotics, fermented foods and eat more fiber. That is the exact opposite of what works for SIBO and it's making people worse who are undiagnosed. What's helped me the most with my SIBO is focusing on supporting my bile production, liver function and stomach acid levels - exactly what you always say. I had to eat cooked veggies only for several years and just recently I've been able to eat two salads a day. I really missed my salads.
How to know the cause is SIBO, liver bile, pancreas or low stomach acid? My brain is about to explode. So confuse
@@glorias4462 You'd have to be tested for SIBO. You can self titrate doses of ox bile, enzymes and betaine HCL to see what helps.

@@glorias4462 I've never done the baking soda test. I couldn't use ACV because of my h. pylori infection. Haven't tried it yet to see but I don't feel like I need it now. It's not dangerous to take them, but you will know if you don't need them. Too much oxbile will give you diarrhea and too much betaine HCL will give you heartburn. Look up how to dose them. I've never heard of overdosing on digestive enzymes.
44 now and bloating has gotten worse the last year and now causes ectopic heart beats through the vagus nerve. Gastrocardia is horrible and not many docs know about it. Great explanation of all the causes here. Last night for me it keto icecream that set me off. So bloated you can't even sleep and feeling your heart miss beats is a crappy feeling. AcV seems to help so my theory is mine is caused by low stomach acid

You've mentioned elsewhere that insufficient stomach acid can also increase chances of SIBO, as sufficient stomach acid will kill off the inappropriate bacteria and spare the good that can make its way to the colon.

Thank you Dr. Berg for forcing me to find out what my issue was. I had severe bloating/constipation for 5 years.. lots of so called specialists and a colonoscopy telling me nothing is out of the ordinary. I went for an independent food intolerance test and everything was OK but Dairy. A big red flag saying don't consume dairy products. 5 years of pain and incompetence from doctors. I would obviously recommend a food intol test to everyone. If you can't afford it, keep a log of your food and isolate what it could be. Since stopping dairy my stomach has gone back to normal and I feel like a normal person again.
Thanks so much for giving the important information here! One crucial point that may be missing is Candida overgrowth. I believe that affects several or all of the systems you mention and is therefore hard to diagnose. It can cause not only bloating and nausea but can induce coughing, I believe, as the Candida filled air escapes up the wind pipe forcing the Candida to build in the throat and lungs. The resolution for that is unfortunately complicated. There are some products that help such as Formula SF722.

@@karenmcardle142 In the last few weeks I've gone on a 14/10 fast everday and a semi ketogenic diet (radically reducing processed and simple carbs but not eliminating them entirely). Mostly now I no longer need to use Formula SF722. Dr. Berg's videos on Candida are important to watch.
@@coldsteelprogressive They sure are , this past couple of years i have had so many antibiotics i could have opened my own pharmacy , I have watched a great number of Dr Bergs videos now and another dr called ( Dr Mandel) I have definitely changed a lot about my diet and still eat carbs. I take inhalers and everytime I end up with thrush on my tongue. Even with cleaning with water and cloves.
To much carbs and insulin I would say.since I cut down on most of tge cards I lost 2.2kg

Thanks for one more excellent video, Dr Berg. However, I would also do some research on Candida infection, that causes a LOT of gas and bloating. Remembering that candida infections increased a lot because of antibiotics and is causing a lot of underlying diseases. This is my experience on Biorresonance and Energetic Medicine. Thank you again

Amazing content! Merry Christmas and thank you! I have been eating Carnivore for about a year, strict Keto before that. The fats have been an issue. In fact, my whole digestive tract has had difficulties, off and on! This fly-over review of the whole system and accompanying symptoms was phenomenal! I am much closer to an answer! I also do intermittent fasting plus kimchi and Apple Cider Vinegar! Whole milk, plain yogurt seems to really help. But not all the time. Bile salt pills were only partially helpful. I am going to re-listen and make some more changes. Definitely the gallbladder and likely the small intestine. I also probably damaged the pancreas in my old way of eating. So we have lots of work to do! Thank you!

Been taking betaine hcl and it's night and day. Not only was I bloated to all hell I was irregular going once every 2 or sometimes 3 days when you should be going 3-4 times a day. Now I'm more regular, lost weight and have less bloating 🙏🏼

Talking about stress making your bloating get worse throughout the day made me realize that I *_think_* a major cause of my bloating for the last month (which has been a COMPLETE mystery to me) is the *death of my father.* Who would have put that together??? I suffered from bloating, so found myself listening to Dr Berg channel, trying to figure out if this was due to me eating diary in Greek yoghurt or eating can of black beans in one day over 2meals😂 I cooked the beans b4 I ate.
Then I decided to eat a big chunk of ginger while I was cooking as my Tummy was painful. Then the pain disappeared, I passed wind instead 😂 Ginger saved the day for me!

Great information. I love these videos. One part not mentioned though is the illeosecrum Value that can be a problem. It's between the small and large intestines. If it doesn't open or close as it should it causes a back up of digestion, bloating, gas, fermentation and yeast issues.

@@chavachava6400 I some how missed your question until now. You can actually massage it. I've seen several you tube videos from different chiropractors who do great job showing how to do it. You will feel the difference. It is usually sore in that very area and will notice a change in your digestion like a reset button.

There is one important thing you forgot to mention, that hormones play a very important part in bloating. I wake up with a flat stomach and can pretty much eat anything in the morning and during the day. However, come around 5 pm, I will start to get bloated, even without eating. Through my research, in my case, hormonal imbalance is causing lower gastric acid in the early to late evening!

So, I started having a slight dizziness that threw me off from my routine. Originally, I thought it was because I stopped taking my Allithiamine vitamin B1 for deficiency, so that I could see if benfotiamine could take its place... it's cheaper to take than Allithiamine. But when the dizziness began, I started taking Allithiamine again, but the slight dizziness persisted.
I found other possibilities for my dizziness and made sure I took the appropriate vitamins to help with the possible causes for dizziness, but nothing seemed to work.
I didn't try the Epley maneuver, because I was convinced that it was a vitamin B1 issue... then I FINALLY did the Epley maneuver and found significant relief, but even as slight as the dizziness was, I was still ever so slightly dizzy with a bit of nausea, but I kept doing the exercise up to this morning and I finally feel all the way stable.
But then as the day wore on, I began feeling bloating thinking I had to go number 2, but it never came, and the bloating kept getting painfully worse... until I sought Dr Berg's advice again and found this video... and I just want to give you another big THANK YOU... it didn't take long to get the relief.
And thank you for all your videos... I can't count how many times your videos have helped me... I've been using them for the last year or so and have needed them because of my age (64), I know friends and family who went to the hospital for a lot of exact same issues I've been having, but I've been able to deal with them by myself without a dr prescribing me pharmaceutical medicine (poison).
