Deftones evolved more than any band from their era. This is a return back to WP style, w/ refinement, greater use of the synth to create a futuristic/dystopian atmosphere, & lyrics that are actually socially relevant. But the last albums were new wave, space rock, & shoegaze, w/ a little metal. Barely sounded like the same band, but often great in its own right. Rosemary, from '12, is their best song, imo.
i do love the fact that its got a WP vibe. but dystopian is a great word to describe the atmosphere!
I listened to a couple tracks off this album. I think I’ll finish it now that you’ve made this video.

You guys should listen to Twenty27seven by Machinae Supremacy, The Greener Grass by Fair to Midland, and Lift by Poets of the Fall.
“I Get It” by Chevelle is a really cool song.
More Streetlight Manifesto is my top recommendation though. They’re such a fucking radical experience compared to damn near anything else in music these days. They really stand out more than almost anything else I’ve ever heard.
If you’re doing albums now, “The Hands That Thieve” is my favorite album of theirs, but they’re all phenomenal. “If Only for Memories” “Ungrateful” and “The Three of Us” are some highlights off that album.
