  • Dear ALL,
    Thank you for being so supportive of USA Visa Success Series - Your Key to Open the Visa Door
    This is USA Visa Success Video 21. In this video, I have discussed questions that the VO will ask if you have relatives in the USA. Relatives mean Father, Mother, Brother, or Sister. It does not mean your Uncle, Aunty, or any near or distant cousins. This is important to understand as many get confused and answer yes to this VO question when they have distant relatives in the USA and get their visa refusal. You must realize that the relative means your parents and your siblings only, not anyone else. This video will help you answer questions if you have relatives in the USA. Must watch the video for all those who have relatives in the USA.
    I have shared the previous EACC USA Visa Success Video Series link below for you to get all potential visa questions and how to answer them. If you have not checked them yet, you can do them now. Also, revising these questions and preparing yourself better will improve your visa success. So use these links again for revision if you have watched them more than once. The more you revise, the more confident you are in answering visa questions

    Hello Sir. Thank you for your videos. If someone has close or distant cousins and they don't know where they currently are or what they are doing in the US, how to answer the question "Do you have any other relatives in the United States?" in DS-160?

    • @eacc
      @eacc  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you have near relatives like your parents and siblings in the USA, please mention them. In other cases, you have one more question in DS 160 that asks if you have distant or far relatives in the USA; you can mention your other relatives who are not near here. You need to know what they are doing and on what visa. How long have they been in the USA? You need to get all the details to prepare for your visa interview. You also need to explain your reason to come back to your home country

    • @eacc
      @eacc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ideally, it would be best if you did not mention distant relatives in DS 160. But if you have said and if there is a question from VO, do let them know that it is a distant relative, and since there was a question in DS 160, you mentioned it. However, you are not much in contact now.

      Your university, located in New York, Brooklyn, is good as you wish to apply to universities with the program of your choice and not apply to universities closer to your uncle's location. You need to explain the same in your visa interview.

    I got admission in USA.I had my interview and when VO knew that i have my sibling in the same state he just denied and didn't give me time for justification.Does this mean i should not apply again because having sibling in USA means VISA denial all the time?

    • @eacc
      @eacc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Visa Interview is tricky, and you need to be smart enough to convey your points. No VO is going to give you the time you want or ask questions the way you think. It would be best if you outsmarted the VO; therefore, a mock visa interview is essential.

    I have a similar case of my father's sisters' living in the US, but one of them will be helping my father to pay for my masters and I have mentioned the same in my DS-160. Would it be wise to change it and mention my father now? I already have my interview booked. I have admit to a top university in aerospace engineering.

    • @eacc
      @eacc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mentioning your father's sister will lead to questions about your father's sister, why is she sponsoring? What visa she is in?, etc. and you will have to answer the VO to convince that you will come back to your home country. It is better to mention your father as a sponsor in DS 160

    Can I ask: do in-laws count as relatives? My wife is a US citizen (and only her family is in the USA - they are my in-laws). I do not have any of my own relatives in the USA (either legal or adopted). So what does that mean, do I need to answer "yes" or "no"? I am from Australia, applying for B2 visa.

    • @eacc
      @eacc  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am a study abroad expert, and you need to ask someone who is B1/B2 expert. As regards your question, your in-laws are not counted as relatives. If your wife is staying in the US, please mention the same as Yes.

    • @eacc
      @eacc  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as it largely depends on your unique circumstances, profile, and, most importantly, your communication skills. Having a sibling in the US who is a citizen need not be a problem if your intention to travel to the US is genuine. However, it's crucial to prepare yourself well to demonstrate the authenticity of your intentions during your visa interview.

    • @eacc
      @eacc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Green Card means that you have a relative who has sponsored them if they have not stayed in the USA for long. It would be best if you justified in your interview your parent's reason for coming back and connect the same with your coming back to your home country after your studies.

      Hello @hugo , Very difficult to answer such questions as we need to understand your case. There will be questions about your brother, like what visa he went on. What is his visa status now? Where will you be staying in the USA? If the USA has better medical facilities, why should your parents not settle in the USA to take better medical services? etc. It will be challenging to answer them on chat. Recheck the video, as you may find hints on how to answer such questions. As mentioned earlier, answering such questions online without correctly understanding your case is complex. Thank you :)

    • @eacc

      If your sister is on a cruise ship and not residing permanently in the U.S., she is not considered "living" in the U.S. in the context of this question. Therefore, you could answer "No" to the question about immediate relatives living in the U.S.

    • @eacc

      Yes, you should mention your child daughter as an American citizen in your visa application, even if she lives abroad. Failure to disclose this information can lead to complications and potential legal consequences.
      If you don't mention your child daughter who is a U.S. citizen in your tourist visa application, it could result in accusations of providing false information or misrepresentation. This can lead to visa denial, potential bans on future entries, or even legal action

    Hello Sir,
    My Elder Brother's Wife (sister-in-law) is a US citizen. My brother is currently working in Australia, but my sister-in-law has already filed a petition for my brother to move to the US after a year. However, I will be having my F1 Visa interview before it. Do I have to mention my brother and sister-in-law in the DS 160 form and how to deal with questions if they ask about them? Also, my brother is the main sponsor for my Master's studies.

    • @eacc
      @eacc  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You need to mention the present status of your Brother. He is working in Australia, and what is his status in Australia? The DS 160 Form is your information and whether anyone has filed for your immigration. It does not seem so from the information you have provided.
      Since your Brother is sponsoring your Master's studies, you should be prepared to provide details about him during your visa interview. The consular officer may inquire about your financial support and the source of your funding. Why your parents are not sponsoring your education can also be asked.
      You should also be prepared to explain your own intent to study in the U.S., your educational plans, and your plans after completing your studies. The consular officer is likely to focus on your intent to ensure that you have genuine educational goals and intend to return to your home country after your studies. • @eacc
      @eacc  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your question. When completing your DS-160 form for a U.S. F1 visa application, you should provide accurate and honest information. In the section where it asks about your relatives in the United States, you should include your maternal aunt and her husband, who are U.S. citizens.
      Failure to include them could be seen as providing incomplete or inaccurate information on your visa application, which may result in complications during the visa interview process or when entering the United States.
      Your aunt's application for an F4 visa (family-sponsored preference) for your mom is a separate matter, and it does not directly impact your F1 visa application.
      Best of luck with your F1 visa application, and I hope your undergraduate studies in the United States go well. May God bless you too! ❤

      There is a question in the DS-160 form that asks if anyone has ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). You will need to answer Yes when filling out this form at the time of visa.

Given the complexity of your situation, especially with an ongoing immigration process, I recommend consulting with a qualified immigration consultant or a good study abroad counselor. Your uncle is not an immediate relative and it should not bother you much. Know where your uncle is staying, what he is doing, etc., unless you have selected a university that is close to your uncle's location.

    Does having an immediate undocumented family member in the US trigger the official to prosecute or report that family member?

    • @eacc
      @eacc  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In general, visa officers are not law enforcement authorities, and their role is primarily to assess your eligibility for the visa you are applying for. They are more concerned with your individual circumstances, ties to your home country, and the purpose of your visit.

      @@eacc thank you for your response, and do you know if they'd inform someone who is a law enforcement about that? I want to apply for a tourist visa but even if I get denied I don't want harm my family member in any way if I disclose them

    • @eacc
      @eacc  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Visa officers generally do not have a role in reporting individuals to law enforcement. Their primary responsibility is to assess visa applications based on the information provided by the applicants. The information shared during a visa interview is typically not automatically reported to law enforcement authorities.
      However, it's important to note that providing false information during a visa application process can have serious consequences, including visa denial or, in extreme cases, being barred from entering the country in the future. If you have concerns about the potential impact on your family member or any legal implications, it's advisable to consult with an immigration attorney.
      In situations with complex legal or immigration issues, seeking professional advice will help you make informed decisions and navigate the process more effectively. An immigration attorney can provide guidance tailored to your specific circumstances and help you understand the potential consequences of your choices.

      @@eacc thank you for taking the time in replying. I have one more question if it's okay, I was not aware of the consequences of lying and in a previous application many years ago I lied about not having this family member in the US, I want to apply again and say the truth that that family member is there, do you know if a previous lie on an old application cause me to be banned for life for lying even if I say the truth this time?

    • @eacc
      @eacc  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The consequences of providing false information on a visa application, even in a previous application, can be serious. If you have previously provided false information and are now planning to be truthful in your upcoming application, it's crucial to approach the situation carefully.
      The United States immigration system takes misrepresentation seriously, and past instances of providing false information can affect current and future visa applications. However, it doesn't necessarily mean an automatic lifetime ban.
      In cases where there has been a misrepresentation, individuals may be subject to a visa refusal or other consequences, depending on the circumstances. To understand your specific situation and potential implications, it is strongly advisable to consult with an immigration attorney. They can provide guidance based on the details of your case and help you better decide on the application process.

    • @eacc
      @eacc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Questions you need to answer are: What visa did your father go to the USA? When did your father get US residency? What is your father doing now? Where is your university located? If the university is located near the location of your father's residence, why you have selected this particular university? Why will you come back to your home country? These questions are not simple, as you may have to convince the VO that you want to go to the USA to study only and not for any other purpose.

      Providing information that aligns with the perceived expectations might be tempting, but honesty is fundamental in the visa application process. Deliberately withholding information, especially about having a relative in the United States, can have serious consequences, including potential visa denials and entry bans.
      It's important to be transparent about your family situation. In future interviews, ensure you provide accurate and complete information. You can emphasize your strong ties to your home country, your genuine intent to study or visit the U.S., and any plans you have to return after your intended stay.
      Remember, each visa application is unique, and honesty and clarity in your responses will contribute positively to your overall application.
