    My cousin lives in the US but I barely contact with him, I do not have any idea how he came to the US. Should I mention him?

    Hi!
    I have my uncle who's in the usa with a PR and I'm going to the university which is very far from his place of residence
    So will this have any effect on my interview if i mention my uncle and yes I'm in contact with him and I've been to the usa 4 years ago with a B1/B2 VISA

    • @AmericanColleges
      @AmericanColleges  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Savya, you have nothing to worry about! The fact that you have been to the US previously and returned back without any visa overstays - this will give you a tremendous advantage. I see no issues with mentioning your uncle. Good luck with the interview!

    Hey.! 2 of My brother are on h1b visa status.. and i have been to US twice.. once for 4 months and again for 5 and half months.. now i am back to my home country and trying for an f1 visa.. so does my visit to Usa and by brothers on h1b effect my visa acceptance?

    • @AmericanColleges
      @AmericanColleges  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @sarawaheed6985, The fact you have been to the U.S twice and have gone back home is an excellent proof that you won't stay back in the U.S without proper status, and you are likely not an 'intending immigrant'. However both of your visits are quite long, which means the visa officer will presume that you likely stayed with family/sibling. This will likely be viewed against you. Because this indicates that you have the familial support to stay back in the U.S. after graduation. To avoid any misunderstanding by the visa officer, consider selecting a university far away from your sibling, different state.

    How about blood relative(bother and his own family) on work visa in the same state as my university? I didn't choose to be in same state. That's the only admit i got..😅

    • @AmericanColleges
      @AmericanColleges  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With a relative this close we have no choice but to disclose. Now the visa officer will likely infer that because your brother is now based in the US, albeit on a work visa, you will follow suit the same path. Or worse, you have someone that will support you to overstay your visa, which is a red flag. Don't give them this impression. Instead, turn the situation with your brother into an advantage - show that you have every intention of coming back home because he has chosen to stay in the U.S. For example - because your brother is in the US, this means that you HAVE to come back to home country to care for your parents, or run the family business, or something else? Do you see - you have turned the fact that your close relative is in the U.S. into a plus point for your case!

      @@AmericanColleges thanks.
      The reason my parents allowed me to study abroad and preferred the state my brother is in.. is only because of their concerns for my safety. Hoping i would be reachable if something unexpected happens.. And seems like that has become an obstacle now.

      @@venn6099 if you are successful in covincing the visa officer using the above mentioned argument and secure the visa, once you are in usa, you can live with your brother without a problem

      I would absolutely disclose this. More than likely the embassy would have this information. Now you just need to convince the visa officer that you have strong ties to home country and will be coming back home
