The first time I watched this, it was audio only. So the "We have the Gargoyles. Thats you. Youre a little gargoyle." Confused me so hard. 😆
WS 4 on a carnifex is so unneeded. They are only useful with old one eye. As a fellow tyranids player, I greatly appreciate your content.
Could not agree more about Tyrannofex being better than zoanthropes. Everyone “says oh if you combo thropes with exocrines it’s op!” Have you seen two tyrannofex with two exocrines? I can tell you the dreadnought didn’t, he blew up turn 1 before making a move.
Same here, left a land raider at 1 wound first turn, maybe a bit lucky but pretty solid overall. With the zoans you have to hit on a 3+, wound on a 5+ and than d6 damage most of the times hitting on big vehicles. The fex hits on a 2+ if stationary, reroll 1 if combo-exo and wound on 3+ most of the times. I love it
It would be cool if ravegers could bodyguard tygon, lol.
Great Tier List! Some interesting takes.
Appreciate the reference about the Norn Emissary's melee profile, I didn't know you'd even remembered!
Welp, thanks to Pariah Nexus, you can put everything in D tier now *Shrugs*
Thank you 👌
Shadow on the warp, synapse, battle shock need love
And we need up points for many unit for better nid 💪
nice video.
Still wish for some help for nids as the point changes did not do much.
and i just got my Nid Hierophant home.
when he is done i will try this stupid list vs my friends.
Crusher Stampede
2x Neurotyrants, 2 Screamer killers, Hierophant and one of each of the hierodules.
I finally found some Maleceptors on ebay at a decent price. Got two on the spot.
So I'm eager to test out dropping 1 of my Psychophage for a tyrranocyte to deliver my 6 zoanthropes anywhere more than 9" away from enemy units. I could threat to drop it on my first reinforcement step is good
36 attacks with Sustained and Lethal's on 5's against vehicles + twin linked is pretty good! (Winged Prime + Warriors in Invasion Fleet)
If you make it that far with their fragile statline.
@@Khobai That's more investment into a baseline fragile for its cost unit. If you are bringing a psychophage and venoms, then you should consider bringing swarms. If you consider bringing swarms, you should also consider a Tervigon. That's just too much. A simple 2+ or a 3+ and a 5++ could have made them way better. Even with those buffs combined, they'd be good.
@@bugmanzgaming9054 Yeah you don't want them to go in first. I use them more for counter charges and punishing over extending by the opponent.
Great list with good insight to why the units ranked where they did! Question for the Nid players out there: What would the Nids win rate be without the cheesy spore mine and ripper swarms being able to do actions? my guess is 30% or below. Not fun to win with cheese IMO.
would love to see detachment tier lists because obviously general units are good to know where they stand but I wanna know the stand out specials in specific places.
@@Khobai That seems a little silly. Vanguard Invader units become much better with their detachment. Synapse units become much better with Invasion Swarm or Nexus. Obviously Monsters with Crusher Stampede...
@jcalle2 no. Do not run Crusher stampede. It sucks.
@@BLUEBOYISLEDGEbest detachment is by far unending swarm
@@lazertuiyope ok?
@@BLUEBOYISLEDGE I wanted to respond to the original post.
Tervigon in invasion with the 5+++/4+++ has served me well so far. bringing back 2d3+6 gaunts to a units with the CP is surprisingly good
how are you getting those buffs?
@greguk2 it's an Enhancement
Thank you soo much again for your work :) After seriously just talking about point cost. A Norn at 250 . And it makes sense : when you compare with the other factions we can OBVIOUSLY see these unit are overpriced. And it would be totally in the Nid's DNA for this 10th edition : no DMG but Objective control. Nids need a big solid unit like Ctan for Necron or Redemptor for SM. Norn could really do the job.
Also serioulsy, hive tyrant is a bit overprciced. When I see a Marneus Calgar for 185 and compare .... it is sad.
Shame that 2/3 S tier units are gimmicks
I disagree hard with Neurogaunts in low tear. They are one of my auto include units and for good reasons. For 45pts you get 11 models to deny deepstrike, double them up and you´re pretty much safe. Putting them in reserve with a unit like the Zoanthropes for example is also neat, just as screening buddies so your Zoeys don´t die to melee right away. They are the cheapest home objective holders you can have. You can block big scary things like Demons with them, just charge some in along side one of your monsters and they likely get stuck in combat/slowed for 2 turnes (i had some amazing trades with them). And ofc they spead out your synapse. As you can tell i m a big fan of these boys, and it makes me sad that they are so underrated by everyone. Well someones gotta look out for the litte guys.
I just had a game where they move blocked and then held up an (Admittedly depleted) unit of hellblasters.
They are really useful! I have 33 now and I just screen and gum up the enemy with them, and if they get crushed, no biggie.
It’s mostly because tyranids don’t struggle when it comes to move blocking and you are already gonna have a biovore to hold your home. I think they definitely are usable but have strong competition for what they do. Maybe more useful in unending swarm than the other detachments.
@@Peter_Wendt Yup exactly, they become even more annoying when you add Psychos or Venomthropes into the mix.^^
What competes with them hard are other small bodied units like TermaGaunts or HormaGaunts not to mention Rippers and Provores.
He isn't saying they are bad but rather that there are better options in comparison, that's really all a Tier list, but it doesn't mean they are bad by any stretch, they are useful but it's just that there are options that generally are always going in before they are.
As a 'Nid player, I wanna see OC0 units not be able to score secondaries.
'Cause then they would have to actually put effort into correctly balancing 'Nids rather than have them be reliant on like one or two cheese strats and yet still be struggling to hit 40% WR, which I think is still exaggerated.
On another note it was nice to see Tyranid Warriors, even if just the melee variant, be viable for various compositions, and I'm looking forward to trying out other fringe picks in the various ways you have described them.
It's a flavour fail. Strategically scrambling for objectives is more appropriate for cagey, scrappy factions like AdMech or Imperial Guard. Tyranids are supposed to be a deadly threat which the whole galaxy is terrified of, so it really feels weird to have them be so breakable and be so weak against armour.
@@Khobai I think that is kind of his point, with a massive change like that, leading to the complete tanking of winrate, gw will be forced to make drastic changes to the stats, at the same time changing the identity of what the army does.
I don’t know, I played a game vs DG today which I went tactical in and my biovore scored me 5 pts, rippers 0 pts, some games they go off and score a ton some games few. Biovore came in from reserve t3 game today.
@@redeyesb.dragonite8562 hehe. Knowing GW they’d nerf the biovore and give us…nothing
@@gurukarma5474 my mate plays DG too. I learnt not to charge hormagaunts at 'em, they just die in my turn.
Still yet to see a winning list of virtually any tournament that doesn't include just one Biovore though, though I can't imagine they're laying many mines if they only come in t3.
I have such bad luck luck with stealers, most of the unit always gets wiped out with any shooting at all, as many points as a squad of terminators with a fraction of the durability.
Aren't tervigon and FHT must-haves for the unending swarm?
44:46 Zoanthropes are trash, now shock cannon hive guard that's nice, force them to burn there armour of contempt so they don't have it later
Great tier list. Thank you for all of the helpful information. Zoey’s are so average it’s not even funny. I have actually switched over to my second army for 10th edition because of how much tyranids have changed this edition.
I’ve been finding the blast profile is way better than the focused.
I agree my poor bugs in 10th just die while cheesing secondaries. I don't have fun removing my models all game and barely killing anything my opponent has. I also switched to my second army which is Chaos Knights (the other Battle Shock faction lol), They're easy to beat but at least the knights can kill the enemy units which is a big part of the enjoyment of this or any other war game. GW please make the nids deadly again!
@@warsunone8585 yeah, my secondary army is Aeldari which got nerfed into oblivion before I even got to use them since I was so focused on making the nids work. I’m guessing they over corrected from how broken they were back in 9th edition
I run two tyrannofex in a 1000 point list. They have not failed me yet. Their death count is wild. One turn killed a 14 wound Space marine tank with 17 damage from one tyranno.
(High five)
Termagaunts a tier above Hormagaunts? 🤔
It’s okay. 2 packs Zoantropes did 0 damage in my 2 games.
You had 6 Zoanthropes and they did NO damage? How is that possible?
@@Peter_Wendt well, I played them not in the synaptic nexus so…2 hit, 1 wound, saved. 0 hit. 1 hit 0 wound. E.t.c. They really need rerolls from synaptic. Without them it’s worth than rupturefex casino. At least with rupturefex you can reroll 2 dice for damage using cp.
OC cant do actions anymore post nexus
I call the Norn Emissary "Mr. Noddlearms" for a reason... :S Shame, really.
I think zoanthropes are trash
@@Khobai like 85 pnts for 3 but this season has so many 3 dam weapons (cant stress this enough, 4 wound models are a god send) and they dont got a save but a 4+ so they fell out not because they went up in points but that fact everyone is bringing there bane and lots of them, like one malecetor or exocrine will kill them all and there little you can do about it. Like think about mercy is weakness predator tank thats only 130 pnts and it will easily kill all of them. Plus zoanthropes have like no synergy with any of there detatchments.
I hate McDonalds.

Great video... But im sure that OC0 cant perform actions... That directly affects the Ripper Swarms, biovore and mines... Isnt It?
You are correct there. However there are still 3 secondaries that spore mines CAN do.
