Whoa this is incredible! Arcades in VR, I've got to check this out on my Quest 3! Best of both worlds. I'm stoked and look forward to watching your content!
@@alanlee8935 👋🏼 yes, in some way it must be configured. You need first to make sure that MS Windows can read the controller as input. You can either connect a controller directly to the PC or use a Bluetooth gamepad linked to your Quest headset. Then use the Windows game controller utility to make sure the gamepad is providing inputs to Windows. If not, you need to check that whatever software you are using is setup to allow the controller inputs to pass from Quest to PC (I use Virtual Desktop). Once that is valid, you should be able to use the controller as an input device to the PC VR application.
@allbecomesiron hi thanks for coming back to me your a star. I did manage to connect directly to the pc and it worked but it's quite a distance away from the pc. Would be better if I could get it to work with the quest. It does pair with the quest but doesn't seem to pick it up on virtual desktop this way when it's paired to the the quest directly :-( the utility software is that on the quest? Thanks again.
@ There is a setting in the Quest Virtual Desktop>Input>Gamepad that emulates a gamepad as the input device to the game. I think you need to enable that. You may need to also enable the option “use touch controllers as gamepad” but I’m not 100% on that. I believe I covered it in the video somewhere, but I could be wrong. The utility is in Windows. Do a Windows search for “controller” and then select “Set up USB game controllers” you should see a device there if it is recognized by the PC. If not, you can try other Gamepad option selections in VD or something else. Good luck!
Thank you for sharing! Have you tried other PC cloud gaming services like this one? I’m wanting to do this as well, but I haven’t researched it much, other than Pluto? Are you familiar with others? Any info you could share would be much appreciated, thanks!
You’re welcome! I have not used other cloud gaming services, but haven’t felt the need to yet. I’ve only had a couple minor issues. I’ve used Google Cloud before for work stuff which was great, but it is not really for gaming. I’m not trying to hype AirGPU, it was just nice that they have a Windows 10 option with Steam, Epic, Chrome, and some other stuff preinstalled so you can get going quickly, plus 10% off with the discount code CGBATTLE.
awesome video! I just rented a machine, virtual desktop doesn’t see it. Am i supposed to log in to desktop from a computer and configure it first i.e load arcade time capsule etc then launch? Or enter ip address manually?
Thanks! Yes, exactly. I used Windows built-in Remote Desktop on my laptop to access the machine. You will have to enter the Windows login and password that AirGPU provides you into Remote Desktop. Then you can install ATC and Virtual Desktop Streamer (free from the VD website), and anything else you need. You can even drag and drop files from your PC to the cloud machine in Remote Desktop. Good luck!
@@MisterUrbanWorld The arcade is already setup. Once the application and game files are installed, the arcade is playable. The time required for getting and installing files is very little, maybe 30 minutes.
@@allbecomesiron Thanks for the reply. Figured we had to set up everything on our own, which I was 100% prepared to do. I'll be checking this out soon. It'll be cool once it becomes possible for us to play Arcades in multiplayer mode.
I don’t notice the lag while playing a game. There is some measurable lag in performance statistics. If the lag is noticed, it is when moving about the arcade. I’m able to get a high score on Galaga using the cloud machine🙂
Thats not a bad price. I run the arcade with a wire and still get some lag walking around (with a 3070 TI). Maybe the author didnt prioritze walking around (not complaining, this is great). Just mentioning it to say maybe its not due to VM. Would be cool to see how something like Half Life Alyx would run. Thanks for posting
@@jasonjames71 It was pretty weak. I went just over the 126400 it starts with, maybe 130k and then game over. I lost my scores when I reinstalled ATC on the cloud machine but none were stellar anyway.
Hi friend, I will try to play ATC by airlink in LAN , everything works perfect, but when I try to play a game I cant use my 8bitdo arcade stick. I connect it with BT to meta quest , any ideas to make it work ??? As I can see in your video you connect your controller by BT and works well right ?? Thanks 👍
Hi there - if you’re using AirLink, I don’t think AirLink will pass your BT device data to the PC. I use Virtual Desktop and it does have that feature. I suggest connecting your arcade stick directly to the PC and testing it using Windows Game Controller > Properties to verify the stick and buttons work. Or you can use an online controller tester - you can find these with Google. Once that’s confirmed you should be able to start the game cabinet in ATC (as long as you have the ROM files properly installed) and it should automatically switch from your headset motion controllers to your arcade stick once the game is running in ATC.
@@allbecomesiron the controller works well in airlink if I am near the PC. But I want to play from another room far of the PC. I see in your video than you connect the game controller with BT directly to headset and works correctly right ¿? Is possible thank airlink doesnt have this feature but Virtual desktop have it as you suggested. I will try to test it by Virtual Desktop. Thanks
@@yunta_ Yes, that is how I connect: BT gamepad > Quest 3 (via WiFi and Virtual Desktop) > PC. In your headset you should pull up the VD menu with the left motion controller menu button. Then go to Input and you must have the “Emulate Gamepad on PC” checked, but do not check “Use Touch Controllers as Gamepad”.
Thanks now the remote controller working perfect, but I dont know why RTC opens trought steamVR and compress the video quality so much. I dont renember when I launched locally in the PC but pretty sure than doesnt run trought steam VR ¿?..

If you don't own a VR capable PC but do own a Quest 3, I'd argue the best solution is Age of Joy.
A tutorial for mount the VM will be great friend . Looks great !!
I saw the instructions in the video details, thanks man !
