Man, I love this channel. So happy to see you expanding the topics you cover, you really simplify some of the more complicated aspects of owning a headset.
Best $12 I've spent on VR. Just took the jump on the QGO a couple weeks ago and it really is crazy how much better things look and run. Playing SynthRiders on High resolution and maxed framerate is fantastic. Even newer games like Witchblood (new to Quest 3) look SO much better. I was not super impressed with how some of the games looked before but now they really pop. And having the option to go full out Graphics mode on some games versus maxed framerate on others and any combination of both is awesome.
This is a great tutorial on how to this up. However, I was failing with it getting rights to change the ADB setting and accepting the code. I initially setup my Quest 3 with my Facebook credentials BUT when I went to setup my developer account I used a different account. I had to add that account in Profiles in the Account Center in the Meta app, once I completed that task, I was able to modify the 'Headset settings' on my device and turn on Developer Mode. Then I used the generated code for Success. Thanks for this.
Great video love you have put the word out there some more for this brilliant app. I bypassed the whole Oculus dev account thing btw and use QGO without issue. The bit with the code from settings where you have to click "about" repeatedly put mine in dev mode without an account or the mobile phone app part. Q3 it's basically the same as mobile phone it turned out once you have access to the android menus! Was also able to install SideQuest in a similar way (I did need to connect to android phone to fully open the sidequest settings)
I was searching for a setup guide for the quest 3!!! Your guide is very helpful just to add that at the end it want to enable accessibility setvice to work. Thanx!!!
Speaking with Meta's support i came to know that they does not support all methods equally in all countries for developer priviliges unlock (dev account). Fortunally i watched this video before buying the app, i didn't know i need dev priviliges for the optimizer app. Since from my country i can't enable dev account, i'm out. Pretty disappointing.
One thing should be pointed out at least in the videos you showed, is that the new graphics changes you made caused slight lagging in frames. And that was on a golf game. Not sure if it would be worse in an fps game or not.

Great instructional video, cant activate Developer Mode on Quest 3 in Meta Horizon App. Everything else kicked off just as described in video. Optimizer tells me I need to activate Developer Mode and even directs me to MHA to enable Developer Mode.
The game that QGO does AMAZING on and to me makes it work the $12 100% is PowerWash Simulator. I love the PC version of the game and was excited for the VR version. But when the VR version came out, it was locked at 40fps (and still is) with horrible resolution (probably close to 720p or lower by the looks of it). with QGO, I am able to play it with crisp graphics and 120hz now and it lives up to the desktop version. I just got QGO yesterday, and when I got home from work, I was playing PWS for close to 6 hours straight without realizing it. Some times I wonder if getting the BOBOVR M3 Pro and a few of their new batteries was a good idea that can let me play continuously for an indefinite period of time as I will never run out of battery
QGO is a great app to have, especially for the Quest 3. The extra power of the XR2 Gen 2, the higher resolution displays and pancake lenses allow games to look really sharp and crip; and in my opinion, when it comes to VR, visual clarity is king.
@@Maraksot78 I whole heartedly agree with that. I can see why developers don't do this from the start as the build in battery would be drained super quick. But like my other comment said, with an endless supply of batteries that can give the Quest 3 all the power it wants, I will never run out of battery and will crank everything to 11. Worse case scenario, I only get 1.5 hours on each of my extra batteries. Only takes 1.5 hours to charge the batteries, and I have 3 of them.

Does the QGO app still work after a power cycle? I prefer to power off the headset in between vr sessions and the fact that I have to go through this tedious setup every day has been the reason I’ve never bought into this method.
QGO has options where the app will start when you boot up your Quest. So it will appear instead of your normal library and when you start games from QGO you can then launch them with whatever profile you want. So you just do all the installation like I show here once and then you use QGO to launch your games. The dev has made it as easy to use as possible.

I was hoping it would work in VR (for FS 2020 in particular), but I don't think it does. If you have and get different results, could you let me know what your settings were? Thx dude!
As far as I know in order to play games with the improved settings, you need to launch your games from the QGO menu. There is a setting in QGO for it to launch when you first boot up your Quest, so you don't have to go into the unknown apps menu every time, which makes using QGO much more convenient.
Does the Graphics Boost work for the entire headset or just inside the Games ? ? I know with the Quest 2 I was able to boost the entire headset .... thanks.
Kinda seems to be a 'per-app' basis. Like the home environments and menus can look MUCH better with maxed HD settings, but it brings the framerate down, to me not a huge problem since I only notice it when scrolling in the menus. I don't think it would do anything to the quality of the videos being pushed by something like TH-cam or Amazon, though the landing page for Amazon does look much better.
Yes, exactly my issue - I enter the code, it thinks for a second or two, and fkn nothing happens. No validation to choose. Very frustrating given its like the final step

This is just a new different way to install QGO. You can still do it by connecting it to a PC or Android phone which is quite a bit easier IMO, but there's a lot of people out there who do not own a PC and only have iPhone (I'm not sure if you can install it with iPhone or not, I've only seen Android instructions so I'm assuming you can't do it with iPhone) so this provides a way for people to install QGO without needing to connect their headset to any other device.
cause devs are lazy ppl.mostly they don't optimize for q3 only. Also they get really sure that fps doesn't drop in any scene to prevent ms . it's like why intel doesn't overclock all "k" cpu from beginning.
Yes it easily handles Alyx at max settings 90hz. I get a popup saying my settings are too high for some reason but I can assure you it's wrong. In the oculus desktop app I set mine to 90hz and the resolution all the way up at I think it's 1.7 since I used a quest 2 and it runs fine. Alyx is not that demanding honestly, I played it on a gtx 970 the first time. I think it would probably do 120hz honestly.
I actually did that too. I accidentally transposed 2 letters in my email address so it didnt work for me either. BUT, If you email itch.io support and let them know what you did they'll get it fixed for you. It will probably take them a few days to take care of it and respond to you, which is how it went for me, but they can fix that.
Quest Games Optimizer can be used to turn settings up or down in any stand-alone Quest game. If there isn't a profile already created for a particular game, you can, of course, change the settings yourself. That being said, just what the experience is going to be like is a different story. The processor/GPU in the Quest is only capable of so much, so you may only be able to turn settings up only slightly before you start to see performance degradation. To answer your question, Yes, QGO does work with Blade and Sorcery Nomad, but just how high you can increase the settings on a Quest 2 or Quest 3, I don't know because I don't own that game and haven't tested it myself.
Good question. I haven't tried that yet. Depending on the game there may not be any profiles made for then, but I would assume ypu should be able to adjust setting the way you want them still.
In order for these changes to take effect, you have to launch your game from within the Quest Games Optimizer. I guess I didn't exactly show that in the video did I...? Anyway, after you select the profile or settings you want in QGO you then launch the game from the QGO library the same as you would from your normal games library and it will apply whatever settings you chose. If you were to go to your normal games library, it would launch your games normally. In order to employ the upgraded settings, you have to launch the game from the QGO launcher. I hope that makes sense.
Because meta requires the game to never run below 72fps and had limits on how fast the battery may drain. So to get the game to run smooth enough in all scenarios and not drain the battery in 30 mins some sacrifice is needed.
Hello guys, this is bothering me for months now, can anyone help. I'm into PCVR on Quest 3 via VD/Air link. But there are so many options to play with, that I'm completely lost. Does the optimitazion work also for watching netflix film or youtube video?
No, it will enhance the player itself (the interface, buttons etc.), but not the video(s) or stream.
does this work for rec room on quest 3?
Does this work on quest 2 like it works on quest 3?
It does work, it's just not as dramatic a difference on the Quest 2 as it is on the Quest 3 since the Quest 2 isn't as powerful as the Quest 3.
Any chance this works for Meta TV shows?
It would help if the verification process was the same as the video.......
thank you man.

Wow, I installed that when I first got my Q3 but don`t remember it taking that many steps at all, have things changed?
This is just a new different way to install QGO. You can still do it by connecting it to a PC or Android phone which is quite a bit easier IMO, but there's a lot of people out there who do not own a PC and only have iPhone (I'm not sure if you can install it with iPhone or not, I've only seen Android instructions so I'm assuming you can't do it with iPhone) so this provides a way for people to install QGO without needing to connect their headset to any other device.
@@Maraksot78 I have a PC and would prefer a simpler install. Link to a good video? Thanks.
I dont get why we need to do this when if our headset can do this it should be allready on it?
cause devs are lazy ppl.mostly they don't optimize for q3 only.
Also they get really sure that fps doesn't drop in any scene to prevent ms .
it's like why intel doesn't overclock all "k" cpu from beginning.
Will you test 7900 GRE in future maybe? Just got it and I'm kinda curious if it could handle Alyx at max settings / 90hz 👀
I actually bought a 7900GRE a little while ago along with a 4070 Super and am planning on testing them both here over the next month or two.

The Mail i used is wrong if i enter it... cant use it
I actually did that too. I accidentally transposed 2 letters in my email address so it didnt work for me either. BUT, If you email itch.io support and let them know what you did they'll get it fixed for you. It will probably take them a few days to take care of it and respond to you, which is how it went for me, but they can fix that.
Dose this work for blade and sorcery nomad?
Is it possible to improve the performance of Steam VR games using this program?
No. This if for standalone Quest apps only.
@@Maraksot78 Ok do you have any way to boost steam vr games?
in steam you can set steamvr resolution higher then 100% , eg 150%,200% etc that's what qgo does. look under steamVR settings
Does it work as good for 3s?
I would assume so. I haven't tried it with the 3s yet, but I'm hoping to soon.
it should, same CPU, I'd try
We need a can it vr RTX 2060
does it work on the side loaded games?
Good question. I haven't tried that yet. Depending on the game there may not be any profiles made for then, but I would assume ypu should be able to adjust setting the way you want them still.
Are the changes saved after a reboot?
Yes because you start gave through tis app. It had it's own game launcher
@@Maraksot78 It doesn't work like that if QGO is fully configured. It applies profiles no matter how you open game. I made a video about it.
What if you have to do a factory reset?
Meta is almost a trillion dollar Corporation and some dude in his garage makes them all look silly and stupid.
is it safe?
yes
The battery life:
📉📉📉📉
Power bank 📈📈📈
This is what makes VR suck. Developer account? Seriously... Why can't they just say hey let's release our game and try to make it not look like 💩
Because meta requires the game to never run below 72fps and had limits on how fast the battery may drain. So to get the game to run smooth enough in all scenarios and not drain the battery in 30 mins some sacrifice is needed.
$12 one time payment?
yep, one time payment.
Ok
Hello guys, this is bothering me for months now, can anyone help. I'm into PCVR on Quest 3 via VD/Air link. But there are so many options to play with, that I'm completely lost. Does Meta app resolution change even affect virtual desktop or its only for air link? I set it at 1.4x 90hz. Next questions, hardware accelerated gpu scheduling and optimizations for windowed games, should it be on or off? Game mode, should it be off or on?(Some games are running windowed or borderless and game mode optimize full screen games). Should I mess with amd adrenaline software settings(hypr rx, sharpening, amd boost, anti lag, etc). Now we get settings for vd, which encoding, which runtime, video settings, bitrate settings..
